Proverbs 15:10-33

ECB(i) 10 Discipline is evil to him who forsakes the way; and he who hates reproof dies. 11 Sheol and abaddon are in front of Yah Veh; how much more then the hearts of the sons of humanity? 12 A scorner neither loves his reprover; nor goes to the wise. 13 A cheerful heart well-pleases the face; but contortion of the heart strikes the spirit. 14 The heart of the discerner seeks knowledge; and the face of fools befriends folly. 15 All the days of the afflicted are evil; and he of a merry heart has a continual banquet. 16 Better, little with the awe of Yah Veh than great treasure with confusion: 17 better, a ration of greens and love than a foddered ox and hatred. 18 A man of fury throttles strife; and he who is slow to wrath rests strife. 19 The way of the sloth is as a hedge of thorns; and the way of the straight is raised. 20 A wise son cheers a father; and a foolish human despises his mother. 21 Folly is cheerfulness to one lacking heart; and a man of discernment walks straightly. 22 Without private counsel fabrications are broken; and in the abundance of counsellors, they rise. 23 A man has cheerfulness by the answer of his mouth; and a word in time, how good! 24 The way of life to the comprehending is above, to turn aside from sheol below. 25 Yah Veh uproots the house of the pompous; and he stations the border of the widow. 26 The fabrications of evil are an abhorrence to Yah Veh; and the sayings of the pure are pleasant. 27 He who is greedy of greed troubles his own house; and he who hates gifts lives. 28 The heart of the just meditates to answer; and the mouth of the wicked gushes evil. 29 Yah Veh is far from the wicked; and he hears the prayer of the just. 30 The light of the eyes cheers the heart; and a good report fattens the bones. 31 The ear that hears the reproof of life stays among the wise: 32 he who avoids discipline spurns his own soul: and he who hears reproof gets heart. 33 The awe of Yah Veh is the discipline of wisdom; and at the face of honor is humility.
