Goodspeed(i)
56 Then they went home, and prepared spices and perfumes. On the Sabbath they rested in obedience to the commandment,
24 1 but on the first day of the week, at early dawn, they went to the tomb, taking spices they had prepared.
2 But they found the stone rolled back from the tomb,
3 and when they went inside they could not find the body.
4 They were in great perplexity over this, when suddenly two men in dazzling clothing stood beside them.
5 The women were frightened and bowed their faces to the ground, but the men said to them, "Why do you look among the dead for him who is alive?
6 Remember what he told you while he was still in Galilee,
7 when he said that the Son of Man must be handed over to wicked men and be crucified and rise again on the third day."
8 Then they remembered his words,
9 and they went back from the tomb and told all this to the eleven and all the rest.
10 They were Mary of Magdala and Joanna and Mary, James's mother; and the other women also told this to the apostles.
11 But the story seemed to them to be nonsense and they would not believe them.
