And be began to speak to them in parables. A man planted a vineyard, and put a fence round, and digged a winefat, and built a tower, and let it out to husbandmen, and went abroad.
And he sent a servant to the husbandmen in time, that he might receive of the husbandmen from the fruit of the vineyard.
And they, taking him, stripped, and sent away empty.
And again he sent to them another servant; and having stoned the same they treated in a summary manner, and sent away despised.
And again he sent another; and him they killed, and many others; truly stripping some, and killing some.
Yet therefore having one dearly beloved son, and him he sent last to them, saying, That they will be changed by my son.
And these husbandmen said with themselves, That this is the heir; come, let us kill him, and the inheritance shall be our's.
And they having taken him, killed, and cast out of the vineyard.
Therefore what will the lord of the vineyard do? he will come and destroy the hushandmen, and give the vineyard to others.
And have ye not read this writing; The stone which the builders disapproved of, this was for the head of the corner:
This was of the Lord, and is wonderful in our eyes?
And they sought to seize him, and they feared the crowd: for they knew that he spake this parable against them: and having let him go they went away.
