Revelation 1:12-2:5

Lamsa(i) 12 And I turned to see the voice that spoke to me. And as I turned, I saw seven golden candlesticks; 13 And in the midst of the seven candlesticks one resembling the Son of man, wearing a long vestment and girded round his breast with a golden girdle. 14 His head and his hair were white like wool, as white as snow; and his eyes were as a flame of fire; 15 And his feet were like the fine brass of Lebanon, as though they burned in a furnace; and his voice was as the sound of many waters. 16 And he had in his right hand seven stars: and out of his mouth came a sharp two-edged sword: and his countenance was as the sun shining in its strength. 17 And when I saw him, I fell at his feet as dead. And he laid his right hand upon me, saying, Fear not; I am the first and the last: 18 I am he who lives, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore. Amen; and have the keys of death and of hell. 19 Write, therefore, the things which you have seen, and the things which are, and the things which shall be hereafter; 20 The mystery of the seven stars which you saw in my right hand, and the seven golden candlesticks. The seven stars are the angels of the seven churches: and the seven candlesticks are the seven churches. 2 1 TO the angel * of the church of EphÆesus write: These things says the Omnipotent; who holds the seven stars in his right hand, who walks in the midst of the seven golden candlesticks; 2 I know your works, and your labour, and your patience, and how you cannot endure those who are ungodly: you have tried those who say they are apostles, and are not, and you have found them liars: 3 And you have patience, and you have borne burdens for my nameÆs sake, and have not wearied. 4 Nevertheless I have something against you, because you have left your first love. 5 Remember therefore from whence you have fallen and repent and do the first works; or else I will come to you very soon, and I will remove your candlestick from its place except you repent.
