Matthew 10:16-25

MLV(i) 16 Behold, I am sending you forth like sheep in the midst of wolves; therefore, become prudent like serpents and harmless like doves. 17 But take-heed, stay away from men; for they will be giving you up to councils, and they will be scourging you in their synagogues; 18 and you will also be led in front of governors and kings because of me, for a testimony to them and to the Gentiles. 19 But whenever they give you up, do not be anxious how or what you should speak; for it will be given to you in that hour what you will be speaking. 20 For it is not you who speaks, but the Spirit of your Father who speaks in you. 21 Now brother will be giving up brother to death and the father his child and children will be standing up against parents and will be slaying them. 22 And you will be hated by all men because of my name. But he who has endured to the end, this one will be saved. 23 But whenever they persecute you in this city, flee into another; for assuredly I am saying to you, You may never complete the cities of Israel, until the Son of Man should come.
24 A disciple is not above his teacher, nor a bondservant above his lord. 25 It is enough for the disciple that he should become like his teacher and the bondservant like his lord. If they have called the householder Beelzebub, how much more the kinfolk!
