And ye cried to me, and I delivered you out of their hands. ¹³ And for all that, ye have forsaken me, and serve strange gods, wherefore I will help you no more. ¹⁴ But go and cry unto the gods which ye have chosen, and let them save you in the time of your tribulation." ¹⁵ But the children of Israel said unto the LORD, "We have sinned: do thou unto us whatsoever please thee, and deliver us only at this time." ¹⁶ And they put away the strange gods from them and served the LORD. And the misery of Israel grieved his soul.
