And he said to his disciples, "Sit ye here while I go apart and pray." ³³ And he took with him Peter, James, and John, and he began to wax abashed and to be in an agony. ³⁴ And said unto them, "My soul is very heavy even unto the death, tarry here and watch." ³⁵ And he went forth a little and fell down on the ground and prayed that if it were possible, the hour might pass from him. ³⁶ And he said, "Abba father, all things are possible unto thee, take away this cup from me. Nevertheless, not that I will, but that thou wilt be done." ³⁷ And he came and found them sleeping, and said to Peter, "Simon, sleepest thou? Couldest not thou watch with me one hour? ³⁸ Watch ye, and pray, lest ye enter into temptation: the spirit is ready, but the flesh is weak." ³⁹ And again he went away and prayed, and spake the same words.
