Matthew 9:18-25

Moffatt(i) 18 As he said this, an official came in and knelt before him, saying, "My daughter is just dead; do come and lay your hand on her, and she will live." 19 So Jesus rose and went after him, accompanied by his disciples. 20 Now a woman who had had a hemorrhage for twelve years came up behind him and touched the tassel of his robe; 21 what she said to herself was this, "If I can only touch his robe, I will recover." 22 Then Jesus turned round, and when he saw her he said, "Courage, my daughter, your faith has made you well." And the woman was well from that hour. 23 Now when Jesus reached the official's house and saw the flute-players and the din the crowd were making, 24 he said, "Be off with you; the girl is not dead but asleep." They laughed at him. 25 But after the crowd had been put out, he went in and took her hand, and the girl rose up.
