Noyes⁽ⁱ⁾ ¹³ but now, in Christ Jesus, ye, who formerly were afar off, have been brought nigh by the blood of Christ. ¹⁴ For it is he who is our peace, who made both one, and broke down the middle wall of partition between us, that is, the enmity; ¹⁵ having abolished in his flesh the law of commandments contained in ordinances; that he might create of the two one new man in himself, thus making peace, ¹⁶ and might reconcile both to God in one body by the cross, having slain on it the enmity. ¹⁷ And he came and brought the glad tidings of peace to you who were afar off, and of peace to those that were near; ¹⁸ for through him we both have our access in one Spirit to the Father. ¹⁹ So then ye are no longer strangers and foreigners, but are fellowcitizens with the saints, and members of the household of God, ²⁰ and are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Christ Jesus himself being the chief cornerstone; ²¹ in whom all the building, fitly framed together, is growing into a holy temple in the Lord; ²² in whom ye also are built together into a dwellingplace of God in the Spirit.
