RKJNT⁽ⁱ⁾ ⁴ For God commanded, saying, Honour your father and mother: and, He who curses father or mother, let him be put to death. ⁵ But you say, Whoever shall say to his father or his mother, Whatever of mine might benefit you is a gift to God; ⁶ Then he is free not to honour his father or his mother. Thus have you made the commandment of God void by your tradition. ⁷ You hypocrites, well did Isaiah prophesy of you, saying, ⁸ This people honours me with their lips; but their hearts are far from me. ⁹ But in vain do they worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.
