He has made both Jew and Gentile one and has broken down the dividing wall, the enmity. ¹⁵ In his own flesh he has ended the force of the law of commandments in ordinances in order to make the two, in himself, into one new man, thus making peace, ¹⁶ and in order to reconcile both in one body to God through his cross, by slaying the enmity by it. ¹⁷ And he came and brought the good news of peace to you who were far and peace to those who were near. ¹⁸ For through him we, both Jews and Gentiles, have access through one Spirit to the Father. ¹⁹ So then you are no longer strangers and resident aliens, but fellow citizens with the holy and members of the household of God, ²⁰ built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the corner stone.
