1 (2:7) Children, obey your parents in the Lord; for this is right.
2 Honor your father and your mother, which is the first commandment with a promise,
3 that it may be well with you, and you shall live long in the land.
4 And, fathers, provoke not your children, but bring them up in the instruction and admonition of the Lord.
5 (2:8) Servants, be subject to masters according to the flesh, with fear and trembling, in the sincerity of your hearts as to Christ,
6 not with eye service as pleasing men, but as servants of Christ doing the will of God from the heart,
7 performing service kindly as to the Lord and not to men,
8 knowing that whatever good each one does, for this he shall receive from the Lord, whether a servant or a freeman.
9 And, masters, do the same things to them, forbearing threatening, knowing also that their master and yours is in heaven, and there is no respect of persons with him.
