Thomson⁽ⁱ⁾ ¹⁰ you who formerly were not a people but are now the people of God who were uncompassionated, but are now compassionated ¹¹ beloved; I beseech you as strangers and sojourners to abstain from carnal lusts, which war against the soul: ¹² let your behaviour among the nations be virtuous, that when they speak against you as evil doers, they who have been eye witnesses may from your good works glorify God in the day of visitation.
