5 and the Lord descended in a cloud and stood by him there and called in the name of the Lord.
6 And the Lord passed by before him and proclaimed, The Lord, the God compassionate and merciful, long suffering and abundant in goodness and truth,
7 keeping kindness and mercy for thousands, taking away transgressions, iniquities and sins, will by no means clear the guilty, when he bringeth the transgressions of fathers on children and children s children to the third and fourth generation.
8 Upon which Moses made haste and having bowed down on the ground he worshipped
9 and said, If I have found favour in thy sight; let my Lord go with us: for this people is stiff necked, and thou wilt take away our sins and our iniquities and we shall be for thee.
