John 17:9-26

Thomson(i) 9 I pray for them. I am not praying for the world, but for them whom thou gavest me. Because they are thine, 10 and all things that are mine are thine, and thine are mine, and I am glorified by them, 11 and am no longer in this world, but these are in this world, and I am coming to thee: Holy Father, keep in thy name them whom thou gavest me that they may be one as we are. 12 While I was with them in the world, I kept them in thy name. Them whom thou gavest to me I have guarded, and none of them is lost, unless it be the son of perdition, so that the scripture is fulfilled; 13 but I am now coming to thee, and I speak these things in this world, that they may have their joy in me completed in them. 14 I have given them thy word, and the world hath hated them, because they are not of the world as I am not of the world. 15 I do not ask thee to remove them out of the world, but to preserve them from the evil one. 16 They are not of the world, as I am not of the world. 17 Consecrate them for thy truth. The Word which is thine, is truth. 18 As thou hast sent me into the world, so I have sent them into the world. 19 And for them I consecrate myself, that they may be consecrated for truth. 20 Now I do not pray for these only, but for those also who shall by means of their word believe in me, 21 that all may be one as thou, Father, art in me and I in thee, that they also may be one in us that the world may believe that thou hast sent me, 22 and that I have given them the glory which thou gavest me, that they may be one as we are one 23 I in them and thou in me, that they may be taken into union, and that the world may know that thou hast sent me, and hast loved them as thou hast loved me. 24 O Father, with respect to them whom thou hast given me, my desire is that where I am, they may be with me, that they may behold my glory which thou hast given me, because thou lovedst me before the foundation of the world. 25 Righteous Father, though the world did not know thee, I knew thee, and these have known that thou didst send me. 26 I have made known thy name to them, and I will make it known, that the love with which thou hast loved me may be in them and I in them.
