19 so that there was not a city which Israel did not take. They took them all by battle.
20 For the Lord permitted them to assume courage to come to battle with Israel, that they might be utterly destroyed, that no mercy might be shewn them; but that they might be utterly destroyed, as the Lord commanded Moses.
