Luke 20:9-18

Thomson(i) 9 Then he addressed to the people this parable. A certain man planted a vineyard and let it to husbandmen, and went abroad for many seasons. 10 And at one season he sent a servant to the husbandmen that they might give him some of the product of the vineyard. But the husbandmen beat him and sent him away empty. 11 Again he sent another servant; and him also they beat, and abused shamefully, and sent away empty. 12 Again he sent a third, and this one they wounded and cast out. 13 Then the owner of the vineyard said, What shall I do? I will send my son, the Beloved. Perhaps they will reverence him, when they see him. 14 But when the husbandmen saw him, they reasoned among themselves, saying, This is the heir. Come, let us kill him, that the inheritance may be our own. 15 So having, cast him out of the vineyard they slew him. What then will the owner of the vineyard do to them? 16 He will come and destroy those husbandmen and give the vineyard to others. Upon hearing this, they said, God forbid. 17 But he looking earnestly at them, said, "What then is the meaning of this passage of scripture, The stone which the builders rejected was the very one for the head of the corner! 18 Whosoever falleth on this stone will be bruised; but on whomsoever it shall fall, it will grind him to powder.
