Deuteronomy 10

VIN(i) 1 At that time the LORD said to me, “Cut two stone tablets like the first, and come up to me onto the mountain, and make an ark of wood. 2 I will write on the tablets the words that were on the first tablets which you broke, and you shall put them in the ark.” 3 So I made an ark of acacia wood, and cut two stone tablets like the first, and went up onto the mountain, having the two tablets in my hand. 4 Then the LORD inscribed on the tablets what he wrote before, that is, the Ten Commandments that the LORD declared to you on the mountain from the middle of the fire during the day of the assembly. And the LORD gave them to me. 5 "Then I came down from the mountain and put the tablets in the Ark I had made. They are there just as the LORD commanded me. 6 "The Israelites traveled from the wells of the Jaakanites to Moserah. Aaron died, and he was buried there. His son Eleazar succeeded him as priest. 7 From there they set out to Gudgodah, and from Gudgodah to Jotbathah, a land with streams of water. 8 At that time the LORD set apart the tribe of Levi, to bear the ark of the covenant of the LORD, to stand before the LORD to minister to him, and to bless in his name, to this day. 9 Wherefore the Levites have no part nor inheritance with their brethren. The LORD he is their inheritance, as the LORD thy God hath promised them. 10 »I stayed on the mountain forty days and forty nights like the first time. the LORD listened to me this time also. the LORD was not willing to destroy you. 11 And the LORD said to me, Arise, take thy journey before the people, that they may go in and possess the land, which I swore to their fathers to give to them. 12 And now, Israel, what does the LORD your God ask of you, but to fear the LORD your God, to walk in all His ways, and to love Him, and to serve the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul, 13 and observe his commands and statutes that I'm commanding you today for your own good. 14 Look! For to the LORD your God belong heaven and the highest heavens, the earth and all that is in it. 15 "Yet the LORD set his affection on your fathers. He loved them. He chose you their descendants above all peoples, as it is this day. 16 Circumcise therefore the foreskin of your heart, and stiffen your neck no more. 17 For the LORD your God is God of gods, and Lord of lords, a great God, mighty, and awesome, who regards not persons, nor takes reward: 18 He executes justice for the fatherless and the widow, and loves the alien, to give to him food and clothing. 19 And you shall love the alien, for you were aliens in the land of Egypt. 20 "Respect the LORD your God and serve him. Hold fast to him and take your oaths in his name. 21 "He is your praise! He is your God! He performed for you those great and awesome things you saw with your own eyes. 22 Your ancestors went down to Egypt with seventy people, but the LORD your God has now made you as numerous as the stars in the sky."
