VIN⁽ⁱ⁾ ¹³ I said: "Alas, O Sovereign LORD, prophets are telling them: 'You will not see wars or famines, for I will give you lasting peace in this place." ¹⁴ Then the LORD told me, "The prophets are prophesying lies in my name. I didn't send them, I didn't command them, and I didn't speak to them. They're proclaiming to you false visions, worthless predictions, and the delusions of their own minds. ¹⁵ Therefore the LORD says concerning the prophets who prophesy in my name, but I didn't send them, yet they say, 'Sword and famine will not be in this land.' Those prophets will be consumed by sword and famine.
