Now on the day when God's sons came to present themselves before the LORD, Satan also came among them.
So the LORD said to Satan, "From where have you come?" Then Satan answered the LORD and said, "From roaming on the earth and from walking about in it."
The LORD said to Satan, "Have you considered my servant, Job? For there is none like him in the earth, a blameless and an upright man, one who fears God, and turns away from evil."
And Satan answering, said: Doth Job fear God in vain?
Have you not put a fence around him and his household and around all that belongs to him on every side? You have blessed the work of his hands, and his livestock has increased in the land.
However, stretch out your hand and strike everything he owns, and he will curse you to your face."
The LORD said to Satan, "Look, all that he has is in your power. Only on himself do not put forth your hand." So Satan went forth from the presence of the LORD.
