When Jesus had entered Capernaum, a centurion came to him, asking for help,
“Lord, my servant lies at home, paralyzed and in terrible agony.”
Jesus said to him, I will come and heal him.
The centurion replied, "Sir, I am not worthy to have you come under my roof. But just say the word, and my servant will be healed,
For I also am a man under authority, with soldiers under me. And I say to this one, 'Go,' and he goes; and to another, 'Come,' and he comes; and to my servant, 'Do this,' and he does it."
When Jesus heard this, he was astonished and said to those following him: Truly I say to you, I have not found anyone in Israel with such great faith.
And I tell you, many will come from the east and from the west and take their places at the feast with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, in the Kingdom of Heaven,
But the sons of the kingdom will be thrown out into the outer darkness. There will be weeping and gnashing of teeth."
Then Jesus said to the centurion, “Go; and let it be done for you just as you believed”. And his servant was healed in that very hour.
