And they come to Jericho: and, as He was going forth from Jericho, with His disciples and a great multitude, the son of Timaeus, Bartimaeus, a blind beggar, was sitting by the road.
And, hearing that it was Jesus the Nazarene, he began to cry out, and say, "Son of David! Jesus! have mercy on me!"
And many were rebuking him, that he should be silent. But he kept crying much more, "Son of David! have mercy on me!"
And, standing still, Jesus said, "Call him." And they call the blind man, saying to him, "Be of good cheer; arise, He is calling you!"
And he, casting away his garment, springing up, came to Jesus.
And Jesus, answering him, said, "What do you wish that I should do for you?" And the blind man said to Him, "Rabboni, that I may receive my sight."
And Jesus said to him, "Go your way, your faith has healed you." And straightway he received sight, and was following Jesus in the way.
