¹ And LORD said to me, Take thee a great tablet, and write upon it with the pen of a man, For Maher-shalal-hash-baz.

²³ O that my words were now written! O that they were inscribed in a book, ²⁴ that they were engraved in the rock forever with an iron pen and lead!

³ And I went to the prophetess, and she conceived, and bore a son. Then LORD said to me, Call his name Maher-shalal-hash-baz.

⁸ Now go, write it before them on a tablet, and inscribe it on a scroll, that it may be for the time to come forever and ever.

² Take thee a roll of a book, and write in it all the words that I have spoken to thee against Israel, and against Judah, and against all the nations, from the day I spoke to thee, from the days of Josiah, even to this day.

²⁸ Take thee again another roll, and write in it all the former words that were in the first roll, which Jehoiakim the king of Judah has burned.

³² Then Jeremiah took another roll, and gave it to Baruch the scribe, the son of Neriah, who wrote in it from the mouth of Jeremiah all the words of the book which Jehoiakim king of Judah had burned in the fire, and there were added besides to them many like words.

² And LORD answered me, and said, Write the vision, and make it plain upon tablets, that he may run who reads it. ³ For the vision is yet for the appointed time, and it hastens toward the end, and shall not lie. Though it tarry, wait for it, because it will surely come. It will not delay.

¹⁸ Here is wisdom: He who has understanding, let him calculate the number of the beast, for it is a number of a man. And its number is 666.

¹⁷ And he measured the wall of it, a hundred and forty-four forearms, a measure of a man, that is, of an agent.
