¹ As the hart pants after the water brooks, so my soul pants after thee, O God.

¹ Now Korah, the son of Izhar, the son of Kohath, the son of Levi, with Dathan and Abiram, the sons of Eliab, and On, the son of Peleth, sons of Reuben, took,

³² and the earth opened its mouth, and swallowed them up, and their households, and all the men that pertained to Korah, and all their goods.

³³ And these are those who served, and their sons. Of the sons of the Kohathites: Heman the singer, the son of Joel, the son of Samuel, ³⁴ the son of Elkanah, the son of Jeroham, the son of Eliel, the son of Toah, ³⁵ the son of Zuph, the son of Elkanah, the son of Mahath, the son of Amasai, ³⁶ the son of Elkanah, the son of Joel, the son of Azariah, the son of Zephaniah, ³⁷ the son of Tahath, the son of Assir, the son of Ebiasaph, the son of Korah,

¹ Moreover David and the captains of the army set apart for the service certain of the sons of Asaph, and of Heman, and of Jeduthun, who should prophesy with harps, with psalteries, and with cymbals. And the number of those who did the work according to their service was: ² of the sons of Asaph: Zaccur, and Joseph, and Nethaniah, and Asharelah, the sons of Asaph, under the hand of Asaph, who prophesied after the order of the king. ³ Of Jeduthun, the sons of Jeduthun: Gedaliah, and Zeri, and Jeshaiah, Hashabiah, and Mattithiah, six, under the hands of their father Jeduthun with the harp, who prophesied in giving thanks and praising LORD. ⁴ Of Heman, the sons of Heman: Bukkiah, Mattaniah, Uzziel, Shebuel, and Jerimoth, Hananiah, Hanani, Eliathah, Giddalti, and Romamtiezer, Joshbekashah, Mallothi, Hothir, Mahazioth. ⁵ All these were the sons of Heman the king's seer in the words of God, to lift up the horn. And God gave to Heman fourteen sons and three daughters.

¹ We have heard with our ears, O God, our fathers have told us, what work thou did in their days, in the days of old.

¹ My heart overflows with a good matter. I speak the things which I have made concerning the king. My tongue is the pen of a ready writer.

¹ God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.

¹ O clap your hands, all ye peoples. Shout to God with the voice of triumph.

¹ Great is LORD, and greatly to be praised in the city of our God, in his holy mountain.

¹ Hear this, all ye peoples. Give ear, all ye inhabitants of the world,

¹ O God, thou are my God. I will earnestly seek thee. My soul thirsts for thee, my flesh longs for thee, in a dry and weary land, where is no water. ² So I have looked upon thee in the sanctuary to see thy power and thy glory.

¹ How amiable are thy tabernacles, O LORD of hosts! ² My soul longs, yea, even faints for the courts of LORD. My heart and my flesh cry out to the living God.

¹ LORD, thou have been favorable to thy land. Thou have brought back the captivity of Jacob.

¹³¹ I opened wide my mouth, and panted, for I longed for thy commandments.

⁶ I spread forth my hands to thee. My soul is as a weary land for thee. Selah. ⁷ Make haste to answer me, O LORD, my spirit fails. Hide not thy face from me, lest I become like those who go down into the pit.

⁸ Yea, in the way of thy judgments, O LORD, we have waited for thee, to thy name. Even to thy memorial, is the desire of our soul. ⁹ With my soul I have desired thee in the night. Yea, with my spirit within me I will seek thee earnestly. For when thy judgments are in the earth, the inhabitants of the world learn righteousness.
