¹ And when it was determined that we should sail into Italy, they delivered Paul and certain other prisoners to one named Julius, a centurion of Augustus' band.

²⁰ But as for you, you thought evil against me; but God meant it to good, to bring to pass, as it is this day, to save much people alive.

¹¹ The counsel of the LORD stands for ever, the thoughts of his heart to all generations.

¹⁰ Surely the wrath of man shall praise you: the remainder of wrath shall you restrain.

²¹ There are many devices in a man's heart; nevertheless the counsel of the LORD, that shall stand.

²⁷ It is good for a man that he bear the yoke of his youth.

⁵ And when Jesus was entered into Capernaum, there came to him a centurion, beseeching him, ⁶ And saying, Lord, my servant lies at home sick of the palsy, grievously tormented. ⁷ And Jesus said to him, I will come and heal him. ⁸ The centurion answered and said, Lord, I am not worthy that you should come under my roof: but speak the word only, and my servant shall be healed. ⁹ For I am a man under authority, having soldiers under me: and I say to this man, Go, and he goes; and to another, Come, and he comes; and to my servant, Do this, and he does it. ¹⁰ When Jesus heard it, he marveled, and said to them that followed, Truly I say to you, I have not found so great faith, no, not in Israel.

⁵⁴ Now when the centurion, and they that were with him, watching Jesus, saw the earthquake, and those things that were done, they feared greatly, saying, Truly this was the Son of God.

² And a certain centurion's servant, who was dear to him, was sick, and ready to die.

⁴⁷ Now when the centurion saw what was done, he glorified God, saying, Certainly this was a righteous man.

¹ There was a certain man in Caesarea called Cornelius, a centurion of the band called the Italian band,

²² And they said, Cornelius the centurion, a just man, and one that fears God, and of good report among all the nation of the Jews, was warned from God by an holy angel to send for you into his house, and to hear words of you.

¹⁰ And after he had seen the vision, immediately we endeavored to go into Macedonia, assuredly gathering that the Lord had called us for to preach the gospel to them.

² And found a certain Jew named Aquila, born in Pontus, lately come from Italy, with his wife Priscilla; (because that Claudius had commanded all Jews to depart from Rome:) and came to them.

²¹ After these things were ended, Paul purposed in the spirit, when he had passed through Macedonia and Achaia, to go to Jerusalem, saying, After I have been there, I must also see Rome.

³² Who immediately took soldiers and centurions, and ran down to them: and when they saw the chief captain and the soldiers, they left beating of Paul.

²⁶ When the centurion heard that, he went and told the chief captain, saying, Take heed what you do: for this man is a Roman.

¹¹ And the night following the Lord stood by him, and said, Be of good cheer, Paul: for as you have testified of me in Jerusalem, so must you bear witness also at Rome.

¹⁷ Then Paul called one of the centurions to him, and said, Bring this young man to the chief captain: for he has a certain thing to tell him.

²³ And he commanded a centurion to keep Paul, and to let him have liberty, and that he should forbid none of his acquaintance to minister or come to him.

¹² Then Festus, when he had conferred with the council, answered, Have you appealed to Caesar? to Caesar shall you go.

²⁵ But when I found that he had committed nothing worthy of death, and that he himself has appealed to Augustus, I have determined to send him.

⁶ And there the centurion found a ship of Alexandria sailing into Italy; and he put us therein.

¹¹ Nevertheless the centurion believed the master and the owner of the ship, more than those things which were spoken by Paul.

⁴³ But the centurion, willing to save Paul, kept them from their purpose; and commanded that they which could swim should cast themselves first into the sea, and get to land:

¹⁶ And when we came to Rome, the centurion delivered the prisoners to the captain of the guard: but Paul was suffered to dwell by himself with a soldier that kept him.

²² For which cause also I have been much hindered from coming to you. ²³ But now having no more place in these parts, and having a great desire these many years to come to you; ²⁴ Whenever I take my journey into Spain, I will come to you: for I trust to see you in my journey, and to be brought on my way thitherward by you, if first I be somewhat filled with your company. ²⁵ But now I go to Jerusalem to minister to the saints. ²⁶ For it has pleased them of Macedonia and Achaia to make a certain contribution for the poor saints which are at Jerusalem. ²⁷ It has pleased them truly; and their debtors they are. For if the Gentiles have been made partakers of their spiritual things, their duty is also to minister to them in carnal things. ²⁸ When therefore I have performed this, and have sealed to them this fruit, I will come by you into Spain. ²⁹ And I am sure that, when I come to you, I shall come in the fullness of the blessing of the gospel of Christ.

²⁴ Salute all them that have the rule over you, and all the saints. They of Italy salute you.
