¹³ But the hypocrites in heart heap up wrath: they cry not when he binds them.

¹⁴ And, behold, you are risen up in your fathers' stead, an increase of sinful men, to augment yet the fierce anger of the LORD toward Israel.

¹³ And said to them, You shall not bring in the captives here: for whereas we have offended against the LORD already, you intend to add more to our sins and to our trespass: for our trespass is great, and there is fierce wrath against Israel.

²² And in the time of his distress did he trespass yet more against the LORD: this is that king Ahaz.

⁴ Yes, you cast off fear, and restrain prayer before God.

⁸ For what is the hope of the hypocrite, though he has gained, when God takes away his soul? ⁹ Will God hear his cry when trouble comes on him? ¹⁰ Will he delight himself in the Almighty? will he always call on God?

⁹ By reason of the multitude of oppressions they make the oppressed to cry: they cry out by reason of the arm of the mighty. ¹⁰ But none said, Where is God my maker, who gives songs in the night;

⁸ And if they be bound in fetters, and be held in cords of affliction;

¹⁰ Such as sit in darkness and in the shadow of death, being bound in affliction and iron;

¹² And he said to him, Friend, how came you in here not having a wedding garment? And he was speechless. ¹³ Then said the king to the servants, Bind him hand and foot, and take him away, and cast him into outer darkness, there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

⁵ But after your hardness and impenitent heart treasure up to yourself wrath against the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God;
