¹ Save me, O God; for the waters are come in to my soul.

¹¹ Or darkness, that you can not see; and abundance of waters cover you.

⁴ The sorrows of death compassed me, and the floods of ungodly men made me afraid.

⁶ For this shall every one that is godly pray to you in a time when you may be found: surely in the floods of great waters they shall not come near to him.

⁷ Deep calls to deep at the noise of your waterspouts: all your waves and your billows are gone over me.

¹ My heart is gushing a good matter: I speak of the things which I have made touching the king: my tongue is the pen of a ready writer.

¹ O God, you have cast us off, you have scattered us, you have been displeased; O turn yourself to us again.

² I sink in deep mire, where there is no standing: I am come into deep waters, where the floods overflow me.

¹⁴ Deliver me out of the mire, and let me not sink: let me be delivered from them that hate me, and out of the deep waters. ¹⁵ Let not the flood overflow me, neither let the deep swallow me up, and let not the pit shut her mouth on me.

¹ Give ear, O Shepherd of Israel, you that lead Joseph like a flock; you that dwell between the cherubim, shine forth.

¹⁷ Judgment also will I lay to the line, and righteousness to the plummet: and the hail shall sweep away the refuge of lies, and the waters shall overflow the hiding place.

² When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow you: when you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle on you.

⁵⁴ Waters flowed over my head; then I said, I am cut off.

³ For you had cast me into the deep, in the middle of the seas; and the floods compassed me about: all your billows and your waves passed over me. ⁴ Then I said, I am cast out of your sight; yet I will look again toward your holy temple. ⁵ The waters compassed me about, even to the soul: the depth closed me round about, the weeds were wrapped about my head.

¹⁵ And the serpent cast out of his mouth water as a flood after the woman, that he might cause her to be carried away of the flood. ¹⁶ And the earth helped the woman, and the earth opened her mouth, and swallowed up the flood which the dragon cast out of his mouth.

¹⁵ And he said to me, The waters which you saw, where the whore sits, are peoples, and multitudes, and nations, and tongues.
