³⁷ Blessed are those servants whom their lord, when he comes, shall find watching. Verily I say to you, That he will gird himself and make them recline at table, and will come forth and serve them.

⁴² "Watch, therefore, for you know not at what hour your Lord is coming.

⁴⁵ Who then is that faithful and wise servant, whom his master has made ruler over his household servants, to give them their food in due time? ⁴⁶ Blessed is that servant, whom his master, when he comes, shall find so doing. ⁴⁷ Verily I say to you, That he will make him ruler over all his goods.

⁸ But will he not say to him, Make ready my supper, and gird yourself, and serve me, till I have eaten and drunk; and afterward, you shall eat and drink?

³⁶ Watch, therefore, and pray at all times, that you may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.

²⁶ If any one serve me, let him follow me; and where I am, there shall my servant also be. If any one serve me, him will my Father honor.

⁹ But, as it is written: Eye has not seen, and ear has not heard, and into the heart of man have not entered the things which God has prepared for them that love him.

²¹ For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.

²³ I am in a strait between the two, having the desire to depart and be with Christ, which is far better:

⁷ I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith: ⁸ henceforth there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, will give me at that day; and not to me only, but to all those who love his appearing.

¹ The elders that are among you I exhort, who am a fellow-elder, and a witness of the sufferings of the Christ, and a sharer in the glory that is to be revealed. ² Act as shepherds to the flock of God which is among you, taking the oversight, not by compulsion, but willingly; not for the sake of sordid gain, but from readiness of mind: ³ neither as being lords over God's possessions, but being examples to the flock. ⁴ And when the chief shepherd shall appear, you shall receive the crown of glory that fades not away.

¹¹ For thus will an entrance be given you abundantly into the eternal kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

¹⁴ Wherefore, beloved, seeing that you expect such things, earnestly strive, by being spotless and blameless, to be found by him in peace:

²¹ To him that overcomes, I will give to sit with me in my throne, even as I also have overcome, and have taken my seat with my father in his throne.

¹⁷ For the Lamb that is in the midst of the throne will be their shepherd, and will lead them to living fountains of water: and God will wipe away every tear from their eyes.

³ And they sung a new song before the throne, and before the four living creatures, and the elders: and no one was able to learn the song, but the hundred and forty-four thousand that had been redeemed from the earth. ⁴ These are they that were not defiled with women; for they are virgins; these are they that follow the Lamb wherever he goes: these were redeemed from among men, the first-fruits to God and to the Lamb.

¹³ And I heard a voice from heaven, saying: Write, Blessed are the dead that die in the Lord from this time. Yes, says the Spirit, that they may rest from their labors, and their works do follow them.
