²⁵ Ὅτι (For) τὸ (the) μωρὸν (foolishness) τοῦ (-) Θεοῦ (of God) σοφώτερον (wiser) τῶν (-) ἀνθρώπων (than men) ἐστίν (is), καὶ (and) τὸ (the) ἀσθενὲς (weakness) τοῦ (-) Θεοῦ (of God) ἰσχυρότερον (stronger) τῶν (-) ἀνθρώπων (than men).

³³ Ὦ (O), βάθος (the depth) πλούτου (of riches), καὶ (both) σοφίας (of wisdom) καὶ (and) γνώσεως (knowledge) Θεοῦ (of God)! ὡς (How) ἀνεξεραύνητα (unsearchable) τὰ (the) κρίματα (judgments) αὐτοῦ (of Him), καὶ (and) ἀνεξιχνίαστοι (untraceable) αἱ (the) ὁδοὶ (ways) αὐτοῦ (of Him)! ³⁴ “Τίς (Who) γὰρ (for) ἔγνω (has known) νοῦν (the mind) Κυρίου (of the Lord), ἢ (or) τίς (who) σύμβουλος (counselor) αὐτοῦ (of Him) ἐγένετο (has been)?” ³⁵ “Ἢ (Or) τίς (who) προέδωκεν (has first given) αὐτῷ (to Him), καὶ (and) ἀνταποδοθήσεται (it will be recompensed) αὐτῷ (to him)?” ³⁶ ὅτι (For) ἐξ (from) αὐτοῦ (Him), καὶ (and) δι’ (through) αὐτοῦ (Him), καὶ (and) εἰς (unto) αὐτὸν (Him) τὰ (-) πάντα (are all things). αὐτῷ (To Him be) ἡ (the) δόξα (glory) εἰς (to) τοὺς (the) αἰῶνας (ages)! ἀμήν (Amen).

¹⁸ Ὁ (The) λόγος (message) γὰρ (for) ὁ (-) τοῦ (of the) σταυροῦ (cross), τοῖς (to those) μὲν (indeed) ἀπολλυμένοις (perishing) μωρία (foolishness) ἐστίν (is); τοῖς (those) δὲ (however) σῳζομένοις (being saved), ἡμῖν (to us), δύναμις (power) Θεοῦ (of God) ἐστιν (it is).

²⁷ ἀλλὰ (But) τὰ (the) μωρὰ (foolish things) τοῦ (of the) κόσμου (world) ἐξελέξατο (has chosen) ὁ (-) Θεός (God) ἵνα (that) καταισχύνῃ (He might shame) τοὺς (the) σοφούς (wise); καὶ (and) τὰ (the) ἀσθενῆ (weak things) τοῦ (of the) κόσμου (world) ἐξελέξατο (chose) ὁ (-) Θεός (God) ἵνα (that) καταισχύνῃ (He might shame) τὰ (the) ἰσχυρά (strong); ²⁸ καὶ (and) τὰ (the) ἀγενῆ (low-born) τοῦ (of the) κόσμου (world), καὶ (and) τὰ (the things) ἐξουθενημένα (being despised), ἐξελέξατο (chose) ὁ (-) Θεός (God), (καὶ) (and) τὰ (the things) μὴ (not) ὄντα (being), ἵνα (that) τὰ (the things) ὄντα (being) καταργήσῃ (He might annul), ²⁹ ὅπως (so that) μὴ (not) καυχήσηται (might boast) πᾶσα (all) σὰρξ (flesh) ἐνώπιον (before) τοῦ (-) Θεοῦ (God).

⁴ καὶ (And) γὰρ (for) ἐσταυρώθη (He was crucified) ἐξ (in) ἀσθενείας (weakness), ἀλλὰ (yet) ζῇ (He lives) ἐκ (by) δυνάμεως (power) Θεοῦ (God’s). καὶ (Also) γὰρ (for) ἡμεῖς (we) ἀσθενοῦμεν (are weak) ἐν (in) αὐτῷ (Him), ἀλλὰ (but) ζήσομεν (we will live) σὺν (with) αὐτῷ (Him) ἐκ (by) δυνάμεως (power) Θεοῦ (God’s) εἰς (toward) ὑμᾶς (you).
