¹³ Εἶπεν (Said) δέ (then) τις (one) ἐκ (from) τοῦ (the) ὄχλου (crowd) αὐτῷ (to Him), “Διδάσκαλε (Teacher), εἰπὲ (say) τῷ (to the) ἀδελφῷ (brother) μου (of me) μερίσασθαι (to divide) μετ’ (with) ἐμοῦ (me) τὴν (the) κληρονομίαν (inheritance).”

¹⁸ Ἰδὼν (Having seen) δὲ (now) ὁ (-) Σίμων (of Simon) ὅτι (that) διὰ (through) τῆς (the) ἐπιθέσεως (laying on) τῶν (of the) χειρῶν (hands) τῶν (of the) ἀποστόλων (apostles) δίδοται (was given) τὸ (the) Πνεῦμα (Spirit), προσήνεγκεν (he offered) αὐτοῖς (to them) χρήματα (money), ¹⁹ λέγων (saying), “Δότε (Give) κἀμοὶ (also to me) τὴν (the) ἐξουσίαν (authority) ταύτην (this), ἵνα (that) ᾧ (on whom) ἐὰν (if) ἐπιθῶ (I may lay) τὰς (the) χεῖρας (hands), λαμβάνῃ (he may receive) Πνεῦμα (the Spirit) Ἅγιον (Holy).”

⁵ διαπαρατριβαὶ (and constant frictions) διεφθαρμένων (corrupted) ἀνθρώπων (among men) τὸν (-) νοῦν (in mind), καὶ (and) ἀπεστερημένων (destitute) τῆς (of the) ἀληθείας (truth), νομιζόντων (holding) πορισμὸν (a means of gain) εἶναι (to be) τὴν (-) εὐσέβειαν (godliness).
