²⁰ Ὅταν (When) δὲ (then) ἴδητε (you see) κυκλουμένην (being encircled) ὑπὸ (by) στρατοπέδων (encampments) Ἰερουσαλήμ (Jerusalem), τότε (then) γνῶτε (know) ὅτι (that) ἤγγικεν (has drawn near) ἡ (the) ἐρήμωσις (desolation) αὐτῆς (of her).

¹⁵ Ὅταν (When) οὖν (therefore) ἴδητε (you shall see) ‘Τὸ (the) βδέλυγμα (abomination) τῆς (-) ἐρημώσεως (of desolation),’ τὸ (-) ῥηθὲν (having been spoken of) διὰ (by) Δανιὴλ (Daniel) τοῦ (the) προφήτου (prophet), ἑστὸς (standing) ἐν (in the) τόπῳ (place) ἁγίῳ (holy) — ὁ (the one) ἀναγινώσκων (reading) νοείτω (let him understand) —

¹⁴ Ὅταν (When) δὲ (then) ἴδητε (you see) τὸ (the) βδέλυγμα (abomination) τῆς (of the) ἐρημώσεως (desolation) ἑστηκότα (standing) ὅπου (where) οὐ (not) δεῖ (it should)— ὁ (the one) ἀναγινώσκων (reading), νοείτω (let him understand)— τότε (then) οἱ (those) ἐν (in) τῇ (-) Ἰουδαίᾳ (Judea), φευγέτωσαν (let them flee) εἰς (to) τὰ (the) ὄρη (mountains),

⁴³ ὅτι (For) ἥξουσιν (will come) ἡμέραι (days) ἐπὶ (upon) σὲ (you) καὶ (that) παρεμβαλοῦσιν (will cast around) οἱ (the) ἐχθροί (enemies) σου (of you) χάρακά (a barricade) σοι (you); καὶ (and) περικυκλώσουσίν (they will surround) σε (you) καὶ (and) συνέξουσίν (will hem in) σε (you) πάντοθεν (on every side),

⁷ Ἐπηρώτησαν (They asked) δὲ (then) αὐτὸν (Him), λέγοντες (saying), “Διδάσκαλε (Teacher), πότε (when) οὖν (then) ταῦτα (these things) ἔσται (will be), καὶ (and) τί (what will be) τὸ (the) σημεῖον (sign) ὅταν (when) μέλλῃ (are about) ταῦτα (these things) γίνεσθαι (to take place)?”
