¹⁹ οὐκ (Not) ἐρίσει (will He quarrel) οὐδὲ (nor) κραυγάσει (will he cry out), οὐδὲ (nor) ἀκούσει (will hear) τις (anyone) ἐν (in) ταῖς (the) πλατείαις (streets) τὴν (the) φωνὴν (voice) αὐτοῦ (of Him).

²⁹ ἄρατε (Take) τὸν (the) ζυγόν (yoke) μου (of Me) ἐφ’ (upon) ὑμᾶς (you) καὶ (and) μάθετε (learn) ἀπ’ (from) ἐμοῦ (Me), ὅτι (for) πραΰς (gentle) εἰμι (I am) καὶ (and) ταπεινὸς (humble) τῇ (in the) καρδίᾳ (heart), καὶ (and) εὑρήσετε (you will find) ἀνάπαυσιν (rest) ταῖς (for the) ψυχαῖς (souls) ὑμῶν (of you).

²⁰ Ἐπερωτηθεὶς (Having been asked) δὲ (now) ὑπὸ (by) τῶν (the) Φαρισαίων (Pharisees) πότε (when) ἔρχεται (is coming) ἡ (the) βασιλεία (kingdom) τοῦ (-) Θεοῦ (of God), ἀπεκρίθη (He answered) αὐτοῖς (them) καὶ (and) εἶπεν (said), “Οὐκ (Not) ἔρχεται (comes) ἡ (the) βασιλεία (kingdom) τοῦ (-) Θεοῦ (of God) μετὰ (with) παρατηρήσεως (careful observation),

³⁶ Ἀπεκρίθη (Answered) Ἰησοῦς (Jesus), “Ἡ (The) βασιλεία (kingdom) ἡ (-) ἐμὴ (My) οὐκ (not) ἔστιν (is) ἐκ (of) τοῦ (the) κόσμου (world) τούτου (this); εἰ (if) ἐκ (of) τοῦ (the) κόσμου (world) τούτου (this) ἦν (were) ἡ (-) βασιλεία (kingdom) ἡ (-) ἐμή (My), οἱ (-) ὑπηρέται (attendants) ἄν (-) «οἱ (-) ἐμοὶ (My) ἠγωνίζοντο» (would fight) ἵνα (that) μὴ (not) παραδοθῶ (I might be betrayed) τοῖς (to the) Ἰουδαίοις (Jews). νῦν (Now) δὲ (however) ἡ (-) βασιλεία (kingdom) ἡ (-) ἐμὴ (My) οὐκ (not) ἔστιν (is) ἐντεῦθεν (from here).” ³⁷ Εἶπεν (Said) οὖν (therefore) αὐτῷ (to Him) ὁ (-) Πιλᾶτος (Pilate), “Οὐκοῦν (Then) βασιλεὺς (a king) εἶ (are) σύ (You)?” Ἀπεκρίθη (Answered) ὁ (-) Ἰησοῦς (Jesus), “Σὺ (You) λέγεις (say) ὅτι (that) βασιλεύς (a king) εἰμι (I am). ἐγὼ (I) εἰς (for) τοῦτο (this) γεγέννημαι (have been born), καὶ (and) εἰς (for) τοῦτο (this) ἐλήλυθα (I have come) εἰς (into) τὸν (the) κόσμον (world), ἵνα (that) μαρτυρήσω (I may bear witness) τῇ (to the) ἀληθείᾳ (truth). πᾶς (Everyone) ὁ (-) ὢν (being) ἐκ (of) τῆς (the) ἀληθείας (truth) ἀκούει (hears) μου (of Me) τῆς (the) φωνῆς (voice).” ³⁸ Λέγει (Says) αὐτῷ (to Him) ὁ (-) Πιλᾶτος (Pilate), “Τί (What) ἐστιν (is) ἀλήθεια (truth)?” Καὶ (And) τοῦτο (this) εἰπὼν (having said), πάλιν (again) ἐξῆλθεν (he went out) πρὸς (to) τοὺς (the) Ἰουδαίους (Jews) καὶ (and) λέγει (says) αὐτοῖς (to them), “Ἐγὼ (I) οὐδεμίαν (no) εὑρίσκω (find) ἐν (in) αὐτῷ (Him) αἰτίαν (guilt).

¹ Αὐτὸς (Myself) δὲ (now) ἐγὼ (I), Παῦλος (Paul), παρακαλῶ (exhort) ὑμᾶς (you) διὰ (by) τῆς (the) πραΰτητος (meekness) καὶ (and) ἐπιεικείας (gentleness) τοῦ (-) Χριστοῦ (of Christ), ὃς (who) κατὰ (as to) πρόσωπον (appearance) μὲν (indeed) ταπεινὸς (am humble) ἐν (among) ὑμῖν (you), ἀπὼν (being absent) δὲ (however) θαρρῶ (am bold) εἰς (toward) ὑμᾶς (you).

²⁴ δοῦλον (The bond-servant) δὲ (now) Κυρίου (of the Lord), οὐ (not) δεῖ (it behooves) μάχεσθαι (to quarrel), ἀλλὰ (but) ἤπιον (gentle) εἶναι (to be) πρὸς (toward) πάντας (all), διδακτικόν (able to teach), ἀνεξίκακον (forbearing), ²⁵ ἐν (in) πραΰτητι (gentleness) παιδεύοντα (disciplining) τοὺς (those) ἀντιδιατιθεμένους (opposing), μή‿ (lest) ποτε (ever) δώῃ (may give) αὐτοῖς (them) ὁ (-) Θεὸς (God) μετάνοιαν (repentance), εἰς (unto) ἐπίγνωσιν (a knowledge) ἀληθείας (of the truth),
