⁷ Εἰ (If) δὲ (however) ἐγνώκειτε (you had known) τί (what) ἐστιν (is), ‘Ἔλεος (Mercy) θέλω (I desire) καὶ (and) οὐ (not) θυσίαν (sacrifice),’ οὐκ (not) ἂν (-) κατεδικάσατε (you would have condemned) τοὺς (the) ἀναιτίους (guiltless).

¹³ πορευθέντες (Having gone) δὲ (however), μάθετε (learn) τί (what) ἐστιν (is), ‘Ἔλεος (Mercy) θέλω (I desire), καὶ (and) οὐ (not) θυσίαν (sacrifice).’ οὐ (Not) γὰρ (for) ἦλθον (I came) καλέσαι (to call) δικαίους (the righteous), ἀλλὰ (but) ἁμαρτωλούς (sinners).”

²⁹ Ἀποκριθεὶς (Answering) δὲ (now), ὁ (-) Ἰησοῦς (Jesus) εἶπεν (said) αὐτοῖς (to them), “Πλανᾶσθε (You err), μὴ (not) εἰδότες (knowing) τὰς (the) γραφὰς (Scriptures), μηδὲ (nor) τὴν (the) δύναμιν (power) τοῦ (-) Θεοῦ (of God).

²⁷ οἱ (Those) γὰρ (for) κατοικοῦντες (dwelling) ἐν (in) Ἰερουσαλὴμ (Jerusalem) καὶ (and) οἱ (the) ἄρχοντες (rulers) αὐτῶν (of them), τοῦτον (Him) ἀγνοήσαντες (not having known), καὶ (and) τὰς (the) φωνὰς (voices) τῶν (of the) προφητῶν (prophets) τὰς (that) κατὰ (on) πᾶν (every) σάββατον (Sabbath) ἀναγινωσκομένας (are being read), κρίναντες (having condemned Him) ἐπλήρωσαν (they fulfilled them).

⁶ κατεδικάσατε (You have condemned) ἐφονεύσατε (and have put to death) τὸν (the) δίκαιον (righteous); οὐκ (not) ἀντιτάσσεται (does he resist) ὑμῖν (you).
