²⁰ Καὶ (And) λέγει (says) αὐτῷ (to him) ὁ (-) Ἰησοῦς (Jesus), “Αἱ (-) ἀλώπεκες (Foxes) φωλεοὺς (holes) ἔχουσιν (have), καὶ (and) τὰ (the) πετεινὰ (birds) τοῦ (of the) οὐρανοῦ (air) κατασκηνώσεις (nests); ὁ (-) δὲ (but) Υἱὸς (the Son) τοῦ (-) ἀνθρώπου (of Man), οὐκ (no) ἔχει (has) ποῦ (place where) τὴν (the) κεφαλὴν (head) κλίνῃ (He might lay).”

⁶ ἵνα (So that) δὲ (however) εἰδῆτε (you may know) ὅτι (that) ἐξουσίαν (authority) ἔχει (has) ὁ (the) Υἱὸς (Son) τοῦ (-) ἀνθρώπου (of Man) ἐπὶ (on) τῆς (the) γῆς (earth) ἀφιέναι (to forgive) ἁμαρτίας (sins)...” τότε (Then) λέγει (He says) τῷ (to the) παραλυτικῷ (paralytic), “Ἐγερθεὶς* (Having arisen), ἆρόν (take up) σου (your) τὴν (-) κλίνην (mat), καὶ (and) ὕπαγε (go) εἰς (to) τὸν (the) οἶκόν (house) σου (of you).”

²⁸ ὥστε (So then), κύριός (Lord) ἐστιν (is) ὁ (the) Υἱὸς (Son) τοῦ (-) ἀνθρώπου (of Man) καὶ (also even) τοῦ (of the) σαββάτου (Sabbath).”

⁴ καὶ (And) ὤφθη (appeared) αὐτοῖς (to them) Ἠλίας (Elijah) σὺν (with) Μωϋσεῖ (Moses), καὶ (and) ἦσαν (they were) συλλαλοῦντες* (talking with) τῷ (-) Ἰησοῦ (Jesus). ⁵ Καὶ (And) ἀποκριθεὶς (answering), ὁ (-) Πέτρος (Peter) λέγει (says) τῷ (-) Ἰησοῦ (to Jesus), “Ῥαββί (Rabbi), καλόν (good) ἐστιν (it is) ἡμᾶς (for us) ὧδε (here) εἶναι (to be). καὶ (And) ποιήσωμεν (let us make) τρεῖς (three) σκηνάς (tabernacles): σοὶ (for You) μίαν (one), καὶ (and) Μωϋσεῖ (for Moses) μίαν (one), καὶ (and) Ἠλίᾳ (for Elijah) μίαν (one).” ⁶ οὐ (Not) γὰρ (for) ᾔδει (he knew) τί (what) ἀποκριθῇ (he should say); ἔκφοβοι (terrified) γὰρ (for) ἐγένοντο (they were). ⁷ Καὶ (And) ἐγένετο (there came) νεφέλη (a cloud) ἐπισκιάζουσα (overshadowing) αὐτοῖς (them), καὶ (and) ἐγένετο (there came) φωνὴ (a voice) ἐκ (out of) τῆς (the) νεφέλης (cloud): “Οὗτός (This) ἐστιν (is) ὁ (the) Υἱός (Son) μου (of Me), ὁ (the) ἀγαπητός (beloved); ἀκούετε (listen you) αὐτοῦ (to Him).”

⁵ καὶ (And) ἔλεγεν (He was saying) αὐτοῖς (to them), “Κύριός (Lord) ἐστιν (is) τοῦ (of the) σαββάτου (Sabbath) ὁ (the) Υἱὸς (Son) τοῦ (-) ἀνθρώπου (of Man).”

¹⁷ ὁ (-) δὲ (But) [Ἰησοῦς] (Jesus) ἀπεκρίνατο (answered) αὐτοῖς (them), “Ὁ (The) Πατήρ (Father) μου (of Me) ἕως (until) ἄρτι (now) ἐργάζεται (is working), κἀγὼ (and I) ἐργάζομαι (am working).” ¹⁸ Διὰ (Because of) τοῦτο (this) οὖν (therefore), μᾶλλον (the more) ἐζήτουν (were seeking) αὐτὸν (Him) οἱ (the) Ἰουδαῖοι (Jews) ἀποκτεῖναι (to kill), ὅτι (because) οὐ (not) μόνον (only) ἔλυεν (was He breaking) τὸ (the) σάββατον (Sabbath), ἀλλὰ (but) καὶ (also) Πατέρα (Father) ἴδιον (His own) ἔλεγεν (He was calling) τὸν (-) Θεόν (God), ἴσον (equal) ἑαυτὸν (Himself) ποιῶν (making) τῷ (to) Θεῷ (God). ¹⁹ Ἀπεκρίνατο (Answered) οὖν (therefore) ὁ (-) Ἰησοῦς (Jesus) καὶ (and) ἔλεγεν (was saying) αὐτοῖς (to them), “Ἀμὴν (Truly), ἀμὴν (truly), λέγω (I say) ὑμῖν (to you), οὐ (not) δύναται (is able) ὁ (the) Υἱὸς (Son) ποιεῖν (to do) ἀφ’ (of) ἑαυτοῦ (Himself) οὐδὲν (nothing), ἐὰν* (if) μή (not) τι (anything) βλέπῃ (He might see) τὸν (the) Πατέρα (Father) ποιοῦντα (doing); ἃ (whatever) γὰρ (for) ἂν (-) ἐκεῖνος (He) ποιῇ (does), ταῦτα (these things) καὶ (also) ὁ (the) Υἱὸς (Son) ὁμοίως (likewise) ποιεῖ (does). ²⁰ ὁ (-) γὰρ (For) Πατὴρ (the Father) φιλεῖ (loves) τὸν (the) Υἱὸν (Son), καὶ (and) πάντα (all things) δείκνυσιν (shows) αὐτῷ (to Him) ἃ (that) αὐτὸς (He) ποιεῖ (does); καὶ (and) μείζονα (greater) τούτων (than these) δείξει (He will show) αὐτῷ (Him) ἔργα (works), ἵνα (so that) ὑμεῖς (you) θαυμάζητε (may marvel). ²¹ Ὥσπερ (Even as) γὰρ (for) ὁ (the) Πατὴρ (Father) ἐγείρει (raises up) τοὺς (the) νεκροὺς (dead) καὶ (and) ζωοποιεῖ (gives life), οὕτως (thus) καὶ (also) ὁ (the) Υἱὸς (Son) οὓς (to whom) θέλει (He will), ζωοποιεῖ (gives life). ²² οὐδὲ (Not even) γὰρ (for) ὁ (the) Πατὴρ (Father) κρίνει (judges) οὐδένα (no one), ἀλλὰ (but) τὴν (-) κρίσιν (judgment) πᾶσαν (all) δέδωκεν (has given) τῷ (to the) Υἱῷ (Son), ²³ ἵνα (so that) πάντες (all) τιμῶσι (may honor) τὸν (the) Υἱὸν (Son), καθὼς (even as) τιμῶσι (they honor) τὸν (the) Πατέρα (Father). ὁ (He who) μὴ (not) τιμῶν (is honoring) τὸν (the) Υἱὸν (Son), οὐ (not) τιμᾷ (is honoring) τὸν (the) Πατέρα (Father), τὸν (the One) πέμψαντα (having sent) αὐτόν (Him).

²¹ τοῖς (To those) ἀνόμοις (outside the Law), ὡς (like) ἄνομος (outside the Law)— μὴ (not) ὢν (being) ἄνομος (outside the law) Θεοῦ (of God), ἀλλ’ (but) ἔννομος (under the law) Χριστοῦ (to Christ)— ἵνα (so that) κερδάνω (I might win) τοὺς (those) ἀνόμους (outside the Law).

² κατὰ (Every) μίαν (first) σαββάτου (of the week), ἕκαστος (each) ὑμῶν (of you) παρ’ (aside) ἑαυτῷ (him) τιθέτω (let put), θησαυρίζων (treasuring up) ὅ¦τι (what) ἐὰν (if) εὐοδῶται (he may be prospered in), ἵνα (so that) μὴ (not) ὅταν (when) ἔλθω (I might come) τότε (then) λογεῖαι* (collections) γίνωνται (there should be).
