¹⁴ Καὶ (And) κηρυχθήσεται (there will be proclaimed) τοῦτο (this) τὸ (-) εὐαγγέλιον (gospel) τῆς (of the) βασιλείας (kingdom) ἐν (in) ὅλῃ (all) τῇ (the) οἰκουμένῃ (earth), εἰς (for) μαρτύριον (a testimony) πᾶσιν (to all) τοῖς (the) ἔθνεσιν (nations); καὶ (and) τότε (then) ἥξει (will come) τὸ (the) τέλος (end).

¹⁸ Καὶ (And) προσελθὼν (having come to them), ὁ (-) Ἰησοῦς (Jesus) ἐλάλησεν (spoke) αὐτοῖς (to them), λέγων (saying), “Ἐδόθη (Has been given) μοι (to Me) πᾶσα (all) ἐξουσία (authority) ἐν (in) οὐρανῷ (heaven) καὶ (and) ἐπὶ (on) τῆς (the) γῆς (earth). ¹⁹ πορευθέντες (Having gone) οὖν (therefore), μαθητεύσατε (disciple) πάντα (all) τὰ (the) ἔθνη (nations), βαπτίζοντες (baptizing) αὐτοὺς (them) εἰς (in) τὸ (the) ὄνομα (name) τοῦ (of the) Πατρὸς (Father), καὶ (and) τοῦ (of the) Υἱοῦ (Son), καὶ (and) τοῦ (of the) Ἁγίου (Holy) Πνεύματος (Spirit), ²⁰ διδάσκοντες (teaching) αὐτοὺς (them) τηρεῖν (to observe) πάντα (all things), ὅσα (whatever) ἐνετειλάμην (I commanded) ὑμῖν (you). καὶ (And) ἰδοὺ (behold), ἐγὼ (I) μεθ’ (with) ὑμῶν (you) εἰμι (am) πάσας (all) τὰς (the) ἡμέρας (days), ἕως (until) τῆς (the) συντελείας (completion) τοῦ (of the) αἰῶνος (age).”

¹⁵ Καὶ (And) εἶπεν (He said) αὐτοῖς (to them), “Πορευθέντες (Having gone) εἰς (into) τὸν (the) κόσμον (world) ἅπαντα (all), κηρύξατε (proclaim) τὸ (the) εὐαγγέλιον (gospel) πάσῃ (to all) τῇ (the) κτίσει (creation). ¹⁶ ὁ (The one) πιστεύσας (having believed) καὶ (and) βαπτισθεὶς (having been baptized) σωθήσεται (will be saved); ὁ (the one) δὲ (however) ἀπιστήσας (having disbelieved) κατακριθήσεται (will be condemned). ¹⁷ σημεῖα (Signs) δὲ (now) τοῖς (those) πιστεύσασιν (having believed) ταῦτα (these) παρακολουθήσει (will accompany): ἐν (In) τῷ (the) ὀνόματί (name) μου (of Me) δαιμόνια (demons) ἐκβαλοῦσιν (they will cast out); γλώσσαις (with tongues) λαλήσουσιν (they will speak) καιναῖς (new); ¹⁸ [και (and) ἐν (with) ταῖς (their) χερσὶν] (hands) ὄφεις (serpents) ἀροῦσιν (they will take up); κἂν (and if) θανάσιμόν (deadly) τι (anything) πίωσιν (they drink), οὐ (no) μὴ (not) αὐτοὺς (them) βλάψῃ (shall it hurt); ἐπὶ (upon) ἀρρώστους (the sick), χεῖρας (hands) ἐπιθήσουσιν (they will lay), καὶ (and) καλῶς (well) ἕξουσιν (they will be).” ¹⁹ Ὁ (-) μὲν (Indeed) οὖν (therefore) Κύριος (the Lord) Ἰησοῦς (Jesus), μετὰ (after) τὸ (-) λαλῆσαι (speaking) αὐτοῖς (to them), ἀνελήμφθη (was taken up) εἰς (into) τὸν (the) οὐρανὸν (heaven) καὶ (and) ἐκάθισεν (sat) ἐκ (at the) δεξιῶν (right hand) τοῦ (-) Θεοῦ (of God). ²⁰ ἐκεῖνοι (They) δὲ (now) ἐξελθόντες (having gone forth), ἐκήρυξαν (preached) πανταχοῦ (everywhere), τοῦ (the) Κυρίου (Lord) συνεργοῦντος (working with them) καὶ (and) τὸν (the) λόγον (word) βεβαιοῦντος (confirming) διὰ (by) τῶν (the) ἐπακολουθούντων (accompanying) σημείων (signs).

⁴⁷ καὶ (and) κηρυχθῆναι (to be proclaimed) ἐπὶ (in) τῷ (the) ὀνόματι (name) αὐτοῦ (of Him) μετάνοιαν (repentance) εἰς (and) ἄφεσιν (forgiveness) ἁμαρτιῶν (of sins) εἰς (to) πάντα (all) τὰ (-) ἔθνη (nations), ἀρξάμενοι (having begun) ἀπὸ (from) Ἰερουσαλήμ (Jerusalem).

⁴⁴ ὑμεῖς (You) ἐκ (of) τοῦ (the) πατρὸς (father) τοῦ (the) διαβόλου (devil) ἐστὲ (are), καὶ (and) τὰς (the) ἐπιθυμίας (desires) τοῦ (of) πατρὸς (father) ὑμῶν (of you), θέλετε (you desire) ποιεῖν (to do). ἐκεῖνος (He) ἀνθρωποκτόνος (a murderer) ἦν (was) ἀπ’ (from) ἀρχῆς (the beginning), καὶ (and) ἐν (in) τῇ (the) ἀληθείᾳ (truth) οὐκ (not) ἔστηκεν (has stood), ὅτι (because) οὐκ (not) ἔστιν (there is) ἀλήθεια (truth) ἐν (in) αὐτῷ (him). ὅταν (Whenever) λαλῇ (he might speak) τὸ (-) ψεῦδος (falsehood), ἐκ (from) τῶν (the) ἰδίων (own) λαλεῖ (he speaks); ὅτι (for) ψεύστης (a liar) ἐστὶν (he is), καὶ (and) ὁ (the) πατὴρ (father) αὐτοῦ (of it).

²⁴ ἀμὴν (Truly), ἀμὴν (truly), λέγω (I say) ὑμῖν (to you), ἐὰν (if) μὴ (not) ὁ (the) κόκκος (grain) τοῦ (-) σίτου (of wheat), πεσὼν (having fallen) εἰς (into) τὴν (the) γῆν (ground), ἀποθάνῃ (should die), αὐτὸς (it) μόνος (alone) μένει (abides); ἐὰν (if) δὲ (however) ἀποθάνῃ (it should die), πολὺν (much) καρπὸν (fruit) φέρει (it bears).

¹⁰ εἶπεν (said), “Ὦ (O) πλήρης (full) παντὸς (of all) δόλου (deceit) καὶ (and) πάσης (all) ῥᾳδιουργίας (craft), υἱὲ (son) διαβόλου (of the devil), ἐχθρὲ (enemy) πάσης (of all) δικαιοσύνης (righteousness), οὐ (not) παύσῃ (will you cease) διαστρέφων (perverting) τὰς (the) ὁδοὺς (ways) τοῦ (the) Κυρίου (of Lord) τὰς (-) εὐθείας (straight)?

¹⁷ εἰ (If) δὲ (now) τέκνα (children), καὶ (also) κληρονόμοι (heirs), κληρονόμοι (heirs) μὲν (indeed) Θεοῦ (of God), συνκληρονόμοι (joint-heirs) δὲ (now) Χριστοῦ (of Christ), εἴπερ (if indeed) συμπάσχομεν (we suffer with Him), ἵνα (so that) καὶ (also) συνδοξασθῶμεν (we may be glorified together).

¹⁸ Ἀλλὰ (But) λέγω (I ask), μὴ (no) οὐκ (not) ἤκουσαν (did they hear)? μενοῦνγε (Indeed): “Εἰς (Into) πᾶσαν (all) τὴν (the) γῆν (earth) ἐξῆλθεν (has gone out) ὁ (the) φθόγγος (voice) αὐτῶν (of them); καὶ (and) εἰς (to) τὰ (the) πέρατα (ends) τῆς (of the) οἰκουμένης (world), τὰ (the) ῥήματα (words) αὐτῶν (of them).”

²⁶ φανερωθέντος (having been made manifest) δὲ (however) νῦν (now), διά (through) τε (also) γραφῶν (Scriptures) προφητικῶν (prophetic), κατ’ (according to) ἐπιταγὴν (the commandment) τοῦ (of the) αἰωνίου (Eternal) Θεοῦ (God), εἰς (unto the) ὑπακοὴν (obedience) πίστεως (of faith) — εἰς (to) πάντα (all) τὰ (the) ἔθνη (Gentiles) γνωρισθέντος (having been made known) —

¹⁸ πολλοὶ (Many) γὰρ (for) περιπατοῦσιν (are walking) — οὓς (of whom) πολλάκις (often) ἔλεγον (I told) ὑμῖν (you), νῦν (now) δὲ (indeed) καὶ (even) κλαίων (weeping) λέγω (I say) — τοὺς (-) ἐχθροὺς (as enemies) τοῦ (of the) σταυροῦ (cross) τοῦ (-) Χριστοῦ (of Christ), ¹⁹ ὧν (whose) τὸ (-) τέλος (end is) ἀπώλεια (destruction), ὧν (whose) ὁ (-) θεὸς (God is) ἡ (the) κοιλία (belly), καὶ (and) ἡ (-) δόξα (glory) ἐν (is in) τῇ (the) αἰσχύνῃ (shame) αὐτῶν (of them), οἱ (those) τὰ (things) ἐπίγεια (earthly) φρονοῦντες (minding).

⁶ τοῦ (the one) παρόντος (being present) εἰς (unto) ὑμᾶς (you), καθὼς (just as) καὶ (also) ἐν (in) παντὶ (all) τῷ (the) κόσμῳ (world) ἐστὶν (it is) καρποφορούμενον (bearing fruit) καὶ (and) αὐξανόμενον (increasing), καθὼς (just as) καὶ (also) ἐν (among) ὑμῖν (you), ἀφ’ (from) ἧς (the) ἡμέρας (day) ἠκούσατε (you heard) καὶ (and) ἐπέγνωτε (knew) τὴν (the) χάριν (grace) τοῦ (-) Θεοῦ (of God) ἐν (in) ἀληθείᾳ (truth),

¹⁸ βουληθεὶς (Having willed it), ἀπεκύησεν (He brought forth) ἡμᾶς (us) λόγῳ (by the word) ἀληθείας (of truth), εἰς (for) τὸ (-) εἶναι (to be) ἡμᾶς (us) ἀπαρχήν (firstfruits) τινα (a certain) τῶν (-) αὐτοῦ (of His) κτισμάτων (creatures).

⁵ Ἀκούσατε (Listen), ἀδελφοί (brothers) μου (my) ἀγαπητοί (beloved). οὐχ (Not) ὁ (-) Θεὸς (God) ἐξελέξατο (has chosen) τοὺς (the) πτωχοὺς (poor) τῷ (-) κόσμῳ (in this world) πλουσίους (to be rich) ἐν (in) πίστει (faith) καὶ (and) κληρονόμους (heirs) τῆς (of the) βασιλείας (kingdom) ἧς (that) ἐπηγγείλατο (He promised) τοῖς (to those) ἀγαπῶσιν (loving) αὐτόν (Him)?

²³ ἀναγεγεννημένοι (Having been born again), οὐκ (not) ἐκ (of) σπορᾶς (seed) φθαρτῆς (perishable), ἀλλὰ (but) ἀφθάρτου (of imperishable), διὰ (by) λόγου (the word) ζῶντος (living) Θεοῦ (of God), καὶ (and) μένοντος (abiding),

² Ἀγαπητοί (Beloved), νῦν (now) τέκνα (children) Θεοῦ (of God) ἐσμεν (are we), καὶ (and) οὔπω (not yet) ἐφανερώθη (has been revealed) τί (what) ἐσόμεθα (we will be). οἴδαμεν (We know) ὅτι (that) ἐὰν (when) φανερωθῇ (He appears), ὅμοιοι (like) αὐτῷ (Him) ἐσόμεθα (we will be), ὅτι (for) ὀψόμεθα (we will see) αὐτὸν (Him) καθώς (as) ἐστιν (He is).

⁸ ὁ (The one) ποιῶν (practicing) τὴν (-) ἁμαρτίαν (sin), ἐκ (of) τοῦ (the) διαβόλου (devil) ἐστίν (is), ὅτι (because) ἀπ’ (from) ἀρχῆς (the beginning) ὁ (the) διάβολος (devil) ἁμαρτάνει (has been sinning). εἰς (For) τοῦτο (this reason) ἐφανερώθη (was revealed) ὁ (the) Υἱὸς (Son) τοῦ (-) Θεοῦ (of God), ἵνα (so that) λύσῃ (He might destroy) τὰ (the) ἔργα (works) τοῦ (of the) διαβόλου (devil). ⁹ Πᾶς (Anyone) ὁ (-) γεγεννημένος (having been born) ἐκ (of) τοῦ (-) Θεοῦ (God), ἁμαρτίαν (sin) οὐ (not) ποιεῖ (practices), ὅτι (because) σπέρμα (seed) αὐτοῦ (of Him) ἐν (in) αὐτῷ (him) μένει (abides), καὶ (and) οὐ (not) δύναται (he is able) ἁμαρτάνειν (to continue sinning), ὅτι (because) ἐκ (of) τοῦ (-) Θεοῦ (God) γεγέννηται (he has been born). ¹⁰ ἐν (Through) τούτῳ (this) φανερά (manifest) ἐστιν (are) τὰ (the) τέκνα (children) τοῦ (-) Θεοῦ (of God) καὶ (and) τὰ (the) τέκνα (children) τοῦ (of the) διαβόλου (devil): πᾶς (Anyone) ὁ (-) μὴ (not) ποιῶν (practicing) δικαιοσύνην (righteousness) οὐκ (not) ἔστιν (is) ἐκ (of) τοῦ (-) Θεοῦ (God), καὶ (and also) ὁ (the one) μὴ (not) ἀγαπῶν (loving) τὸν (the) ἀδελφὸν (brother) αὐτοῦ (of him).
