¹⁴ ἆρον (Take) τὸ (what is) σὸν (yours) καὶ (and) ὕπαγε (go). θέλω (I desire) δὲ (now) τούτῳ (to this) τῷ (-) ἐσχάτῳ (last) δοῦναι (to give), ὡς (as) καὶ (also) σοί (to you).

² Ὅταν (When) οὖν (therefore) ποιῇς (you do) ἐλεημοσύνην (acts of charity), μὴ (not) σαλπίσῃς (do sound a trumpet) ἔμπροσθέν (before) σου (you), ὥσπερ (as) οἱ (the) ὑποκριταὶ (hypocrites) ποιοῦσιν (do) ἐν (in) ταῖς (the) συναγωγαῖς (synagogues) καὶ (and) ἐν (in) ταῖς (the) ῥύμαις (streets), ὅπως (so that) δοξασθῶσιν (they may have glory) ὑπὸ (from) τῶν (-) ἀνθρώπων (men). ἀμὴν (Truly) λέγω (I say) ὑμῖν (to you), ἀπέχουσιν (they have) τὸν (the) μισθὸν (reward) αὐτῶν (of them).

⁶ σὺ (You) δὲ (however), ὅταν (when) προσεύχῃ (you pray), εἴσελθε (enter) εἰς (into) τὸ (the) ταμεῖόν (room) σου (of you), καὶ (and) κλείσας (having shut) τὴν (the) θύραν (door) σου (of you), πρόσευξαι (pray) τῷ (to) Πατρί (Father) σου (of you), τῷ (the One) ἐν (in) τῷ (-) κρυπτῷ (secret). καὶ (And) ὁ (the) Πατήρ (Father) σου (of you), ὁ (the One) βλέπων (seeing) ἐν (in) τῷ (-) κρυπτῷ (secret), ἀποδώσει (will reward) σοι (you).

¹⁶ Ὅταν (Whenever) δὲ (now) νηστεύητε (you fast), μὴ (not) γίνεσθε (be) ὡς (like) οἱ (the) ὑποκριταὶ (hypocrites), σκυθρωποί (gloomy); ἀφανίζουσιν (they disfigure) γὰρ (for) τὰ (the) πρόσωπα (appearance) αὐτῶν (of them), ὅπως (so that) φανῶσιν (they might appear) τοῖς (-) ἀνθρώποις (to men) νηστεύοντες (as fasting). ἀμὴν (Truly) λέγω (I say) ὑμῖν (to you), ἀπέχουσιν (they have) τὸν (the) μισθὸν (reward) αὐτῶν (of them).

³¹ Ὁ (-) δὲ (And) εἶπεν (he said) αὐτῷ (to him), ‘Τέκνον (Son), σὺ (you) πάντοτε (always) μετ’ (with) ἐμοῦ (me) εἶ (are), καὶ (and) πάντα (all) τὰ (that) ἐμὰ (is mine), σά (yours) ἐστιν (is).

²⁵ Εἶπεν (Said) δὲ (then) Ἀβραάμ (Abraham), ‘Τέκνον (Child), μνήσθητι (remember) ὅτι (that) ἀπέλαβες (you did fully receive) τὰ (the things) ἀγαθά (good) σου (of you) ἐν (in) τῇ (the) ζωῇ (lifetime) σου (of you), καὶ (and) Λάζαρος (Lazarus) ὁμοίως (likewise) τὰ (the things) κακά (evil). νῦν (Now) δὲ (however) ὧδε (here) παρακαλεῖται (he is comforted); σὺ (you) δὲ (now) ὀδυνᾶσαι (are suffering).

² καθὼς (As) ἔδωκας (You gave) αὐτῷ (Him) ἐξουσίαν (authority) πάσης (over all) σαρκός (flesh), ἵνα (so that) πᾶν (all) ὃ (whom) δέδωκας (You have given) αὐτῷ (Him), δώσῃ (He may give) αὐτοῖς (to them) ζωὴν (life) αἰώνιον (eternal).

⁴ μὴ (Never) γένοιτο (may it be)! γινέσθω (Let be) δὲ (however) ὁ (-) Θεὸς (God) ἀληθής (true), πᾶς (every) δὲ (now) ἄνθρωπος (man) ψεύστης (a liar), καθὼς* (as) γέγραπται (it has been written): “Ὅπως (That) ἂν (-) δικαιωθῇς (You may be justified) ἐν (in) τοῖς (the) λόγοις (words) σου (of You), καὶ (and) νικήσεις (will prevail) ἐν (in) τῷ (-) κρίνεσθαί (being judged) σε (Your).”

¹⁹ Οἴδαμεν (We know) δὲ (now) ὅτι (that) ὅσα (whatever) ὁ (the) νόμος (law) λέγει (says), τοῖς (to those) ἐν (under) τῷ (the) νόμῳ (law) λαλεῖ (it speaks), ἵνα (so that) πᾶν (every) στόμα (mouth) φραγῇ (may be stopped), καὶ (and) ὑπόδικος (under judgment) γένηται (may be) πᾶς (all) ὁ (the) κόσμος (world) τῷ (-) Θεῷ (to God).
