¹⁶ Βαπτισθεὶς (Having been baptized) δὲ (now), ὁ (-) Ἰησοῦς (Jesus) εὐθὺς (immediately) ἀνέβη (went up) ἀπὸ (from) τοῦ (the) ὕδατος (water); καὶ (and) ἰδοὺ (behold), ἠνεῴχθησαν (were opened) οἱ (the) οὐρανοί (heavens), καὶ (and) εἶδεν (he saw) [τὸ] (the) Πνεῦμα (Spirit) [τοῦ] (of) Θεοῦ (God) καταβαῖνον (descending) ὡσεὶ (as) περιστερὰν (a dove), [καὶ] (and) ἐρχόμενον (alighting) ἐπ’ (upon) αὐτόν (Him).

¹⁰ καὶ (And) εὐθὺς (immediately) ἀναβαίνων (going up) ἐκ (from) τοῦ (the) ὕδατος (water), εἶδεν (he saw) σχιζομένους (tearing open) τοὺς (the) οὐρανοὺς (heavens), καὶ (and) τὸ (the) Πνεῦμα (Spirit) ὡς (as) περιστερὰν (a dove) καταβαῖνον (descending) εἰς (upon) αὐτόν (Him).

²¹ Ἐγένετο (It came to pass) δὲ (now) ἐν (in) τῷ (-) βαπτισθῆναι (having been baptized) ἅπαντα (all) τὸν (the) λαὸν (people), καὶ (and) Ἰησοῦ (Jesus) βαπτισθέντος (having been baptized), καὶ (and) προσευχομένου (having prayed), ἀνεῳχθῆναι (was opened) τὸν (the) οὐρανὸν (heaven),

¹³ ὅταν (When) δὲ (however) ἔλθῃ (shall come) ἐκεῖνος (He), τὸ (the) Πνεῦμα (Spirit) τῆς (-) ἀληθείας (of truth), ὁδηγήσει (He will guide) ὑμᾶς (you) ἐν* (into) τῇ* (the) ἀληθείᾳ* (truth) πάσῃ* (all); οὐ (not) γὰρ (for) λαλήσει (He will speak) ἀφ’ (from) ἑαυτοῦ (Himself), ἀλλ’ (but) ὅσα (whatever) ἀκούσει* (He may hear), λαλήσει (He will speak); καὶ (and) τὰ (the things) ἐρχόμενα (coming) ἀναγγελεῖ (He will declare) ὑμῖν (to you).

⁵⁶ καὶ (and) εἶπεν (he said), “Ἰδοὺ (Behold), θεωρῶ (I see) τοὺς (the) οὐρανοὺς (heavens) διηνοιγμένους (having been opened), καὶ (and) τὸν (the) Υἱὸν (Son) τοῦ (-) ἀνθρώπου (of Man) ἐκ (at) δεξιῶν (the right hand) ἑστῶτα (standing) τοῦ (-) Θεοῦ (of God).”

¹¹ καὶ (and) θεωρεῖ (he beholds) τὸν (-) οὐρανὸν (heaven) ἀνεῳγμένον (opening), καὶ (and) καταβαῖνον (descending) σκεῦός (a vessel) τι (certain), ὡς (as) ὀθόνην (a sheet) μεγάλην (great), τέσσαρσιν (by four) ἀρχαῖς (corners) καθιέμενον (being let down) ἐπὶ (upon) τῆς (the) γῆς (earth),

¹ Ἀποκάλυψις (The revelation) Ἰησοῦ (of Jesus) Χριστοῦ (Christ), ἣν (which) ἔδωκεν (gave) αὐτῷ (Him) ὁ (-) Θεός (God), δεῖξαι (to show) τοῖς (to the) δούλοις (bond-servants) αὐτοῦ (of Him) ἃ (what things) δεῖ (it behooves) γενέσθαι (to take place) ἐν (in) τάχει (quickness). καὶ (And) ἐσήμανεν (He signified it), ἀποστείλας (having sent) διὰ (through) τοῦ (the) ἀγγέλου (angel) αὐτοῦ (of Him), τῷ (to the) δούλῳ (servant) αὐτοῦ (of Him), Ἰωάννῃ (John), ² ὃς (who) ἐμαρτύρησεν (testified) τὸν (to the) λόγον (word) τοῦ (-) Θεοῦ (of God) καὶ (and) τὴν (to the) μαρτυρίαν (testimony) Ἰησοῦ (of Jesus) Χριστοῦ (Christ), ὅσα (as much as) εἶδεν (he saw). ³ Μακάριος (Blessed is) ὁ (the one) ἀναγινώσκων (reading), καὶ (and) οἱ (those) ἀκούοντες (hearing) τοὺς (the) λόγους (words) τῆς (of the) προφητείας (prophecy), καὶ (and) τηροῦντες (keeping) τὰ (the things) ἐν (in) αὐτῇ (it) γεγραμμένα (having been written); ὁ (-) γὰρ (for) καιρὸς (the time is) ἐγγύς (near).

¹⁰ ἐγενόμην (I was) ἐν (in) Πνεύματι (the Spirit) ἐν (on) τῇ (the) κυριακῇ (Lord’s) ἡμέρᾳ (day), καὶ (and) ἤκουσα (I heard) ὀπίσω (behind) μου (me) φωνὴν (a voice) μεγάλην (loud), ὡς (like that) σάλπιγγος (of a trumpet),

¹⁹ Γράψον (Write) οὖν (therefore) ἃ (the things that) εἶδες (you have seen), καὶ (and) ἃ (the things that) εἰσὶν (are), καὶ (and) ἃ (the things that) μέλλει (are about) γενέσθαι (to take place) μετὰ (after) ταῦτα (these),

¹² καὶ (And) ἤκουσαν (they heard) φωνῆς (a voice) μεγάλης (great) ἐκ (out of) τοῦ (-) οὐρανοῦ (heaven), λεγούσης (saying) αὐτοῖς (to them), “Ἀνάβατε (Come up) ὧδε (here).” καὶ (And) ἀνέβησαν (they went up) εἰς (to) τὸν (-) οὐρανὸν (heaven) ἐν (in) τῇ (the) νεφέλῃ (cloud); καὶ (and) ἐθεώρησαν (beheld) αὐτοὺς (them) οἱ (the) ἐχθροὶ (enemies) αὐτῶν (of them).

¹⁷ Καὶ (And) ὁ (the) ἕβδομος (seventh) ἐξέχεεν (poured out) τὴν (the) φιάλην (bowl) αὐτοῦ (of him) ἐπὶ (upon) τὸν (the) ἀέρα (air), καὶ (and) ἐξῆλθεν (came out) φωνὴ (a voice) μεγάλη (loud) ἐκ (from) τοῦ (the) ναοῦ (temple) ἀπὸ (from) τοῦ (the) θρόνου (throne), λέγουσα (saying), “Γέγονεν (It is done)!”

⁶ Καὶ (And) εἶπέν (he said) μοι (to me), “Οὗτοι (These) οἱ (-) λόγοι (words) πιστοὶ (are faithful) καὶ (and) ἀληθινοί (true). καὶ (And) ὁ (the) Κύριος (Lord), ὁ (the) Θεὸς (God) τῶν (of the) πνευμάτων (spirits) τῶν (of the) προφητῶν (prophets), ἀπέστειλεν (sent) τὸν (the) ἄγγελον (angel) αὐτοῦ (of Him), δεῖξαι (to show) τοῖς (the) δούλοις (servants) αὐτοῦ (of Him) ἃ (the things that) δεῖ (must) γενέσθαι (come to pass) ἐν (in) τάχει (quickness).”

¹ Κεφάλαιον (The sum) δὲ (now) ἐπὶ (of) τοῖς (the things) λεγομένοις (being spoken of is that) τοιοῦτον (such) ἔχομεν (we have), ἀρχιερέα (a high priest) ὃς (who) ἐκάθισεν (sat down) ἐν (at) δεξιᾷ (the right hand) τοῦ (of the) θρόνου (throne) τῆς (of the) Μεγαλωσύνης (Majesty) ἐν (in) τοῖς (the) οὐρανοῖς (heavens),

²¹ Ὁ (The one) νικῶν (overcoming), δώσω (I will give) αὐτῷ (to him) καθίσαι (to sit) μετ’ (with) ἐμοῦ (Me) ἐν (on) τῷ (the) θρόνῳ (throne) μου (of Me), ὡς (as) κἀγὼ (I also) ἐνίκησα (overcame) καὶ (and) ἐκάθισα (sat down) μετὰ (with) τοῦ (the) Πατρός (Father) μου (of Me) ἐν (on) τῷ (the) θρόνῳ (throne) αὐτοῦ (of Him).

⁵ Καὶ (And) ἐκ (out of) τοῦ (the) θρόνου (throne) ἐκπορεύονται (come) ἀστραπαὶ (flashes of lightning), καὶ (and) φωναὶ (voices), καὶ (and) βρονταί (thunderings). καὶ (And) ἑπτὰ (there were seven) λαμπάδες (lamps) πυρὸς (of fire) καιόμεναι (burning) ἐνώπιον (before) τοῦ (the) θρόνου (throne), ἅ (which) εἰσιν (are) τὰ (the) ἑπτὰ (seven) Πνεύματα (Spirits) τοῦ (-) Θεοῦ (of God).

⁹ Καὶ (And) ὅταν (whenever) δώσουσιν (will give) τὰ (the) ζῷα (living creatures) δόξαν (glory) καὶ (and) τιμὴν (honor) καὶ (and) εὐχαριστίαν (thanksgiving) τῷ (to the One) καθημένῳ (sitting) ἐπὶ (upon) τῷ (the) θρόνῳ (throne), τῷ (the One) ζῶντι (living) εἰς (to) τοὺς (the) αἰῶνας (ages) τῶν (of the) αἰώνων (ages),

¹ Καὶ (And) εἶδον (I saw) ἐπὶ (on) τὴν (the) δεξιὰν (right hand) τοῦ (of the One) καθημένου (sitting) ἐπὶ (upon) τοῦ (the) θρόνου (throne) βιβλίον (a scroll), γεγραμμένον (having been written) ἔσωθεν (inside) καὶ (and) ὄπισθεν (on the back), κατεσφραγισμένον (having been sealed) σφραγῖσιν (with seals) ἑπτά (seven).

⁶ Καὶ (And) εἶδον (I saw) ἐν (in) μέσῳ (the midst) τοῦ (of the) θρόνου (throne) καὶ (and) τῶν (of the) τεσσάρων (four) ζῴων (living creatures), καὶ (and) ἐν (in) μέσῳ (the midst) τῶν (of the) πρεσβυτέρων (elders), Ἀρνίον (a Lamb) ἑστηκὸς (standing) ὡς (as) ἐσφαγμένον (having been slain), ἔχων (having) κέρατα (horns) ἑπτὰ (seven) καὶ (and) ὀφθαλμοὺς (eyes) ἑπτά (seven), οἵ (which) εἰσιν (are) τὰ (the) ἑπτὰ (seven) Πνεύματα (Spirits) τοῦ (-) Θεοῦ (of God), ἀπεσταλμένοι (having been sent out) εἰς (into) πᾶσαν (all) τὴν (the) γῆν (earth). ⁷ καὶ (And) ἦλθεν (He came) καὶ (and) εἴληφεν (took it) ἐκ (out of) τῆς (the) δεξιᾶς (right hand) τοῦ (of the One) καθημένου (sitting) ἐπὶ (on) τοῦ (the) θρόνου (throne).

¹³ Καὶ (And) πᾶν (every) κτίσμα (creature) ὃ (which) ἐν (in) τῷ (-) οὐρανῷ (heaven), καὶ (and) ἐπὶ (upon) τῆς (the) γῆς (earth), καὶ (and) ὑποκάτω (under) τῆς (the) γῆς (earth), καὶ (and) ἐπὶ (on) τῆς (the) θαλάσσης (sea) 〈ἐστίν〉 (is), καὶ (and) τὰ (-) ἐν (in) αὐτοῖς (them) πάντα (everything), ἤκουσα (I heard) λέγοντας (saying): “Τῷ (To the One) καθημένῳ (sitting) ἐπὶ (on) τῷ (the) θρόνῳ (throne), καὶ (and) τῷ (to the) Ἀρνίῳ (Lamb), ἡ (-) εὐλογία (blessing) καὶ (and) ἡ (-) τιμὴ (honor) καὶ (and) ἡ (-) δόξα (glory) καὶ (and) τὸ (-) κράτος (might) εἰς (to) τοὺς (the) αἰῶνας (ages) τῶν (of the) αἰώνων (ages).”

¹⁶ καὶ (And) λέγουσιν (they say) τοῖς (to the) ὄρεσιν (mountains) καὶ (and) ταῖς (to the) πέτραις (rocks), “Πέσετε (Fall) ἐφ’ (on) ἡμᾶς (us) καὶ (and) κρύψατε (hide) ἡμᾶς (us) ἀπὸ (from) προσώπου (the face) τοῦ (of the One) καθημένου (sitting) ἐπὶ (on) τοῦ (the) θρόνου (throne), καὶ (and) ἀπὸ (from) τῆς (the) ὀργῆς (wrath) τοῦ (of the) Ἀρνίου (Lamb),

⁹ Μετὰ (After) ταῦτα (these things) εἶδον (I looked), καὶ (and) ἰδοὺ (behold), ὄχλος (a multitude) πολύς (great), ὃν (which) ἀριθμῆσαι (to number) αὐτὸν (it) οὐδεὶς (no one) ἐδύνατο (was able), ἐκ (out of) παντὸς (every) ἔθνους (nation), καὶ (and) φυλῶν (tribes), καὶ (and) λαῶν (peoples), καὶ (and) γλωσσῶν (tongues), ἑστῶτες (standing) ἐνώπιον (before) τοῦ (the) θρόνου (throne) καὶ (and) ἐνώπιον (before) τοῦ (the) Ἀρνίου (Lamb), περιβεβλημένους (having been clothed with) στολὰς (robes) λευκάς (white), καὶ (and) φοίνικες (palm branches) ἐν (in) ταῖς (the) χερσὶν (hands) αὐτῶν (of them). ¹⁰ καὶ (And) κράζουσιν (they were crying out) φωνῇ (in a voice) μεγάλῃ (loud), λέγοντες (saying): “Ἡ (-) σωτηρία (Salvation) τῷ (to the) Θεῷ (God) ἡμῶν (of us), τῷ (the One) καθημένῳ (sitting) ἐπὶ (on) τῷ (the) θρόνῳ (throne), καὶ (and) τῷ (to the) Ἀρνίῳ (Lamb)!” ¹¹ Καὶ (And) πάντες (all) οἱ (the) ἄγγελοι (angels) εἱστήκεισαν (stood) κύκλῳ (around) τοῦ (the) θρόνου (throne), καὶ (and) τῶν (the) πρεσβυτέρων (elders), καὶ (and) τῶν (the) τεσσάρων (four) ζῴων (living creatures), καὶ (and) ἔπεσαν (they fell) ἐνώπιον (before) τοῦ (the) θρόνου (throne) ἐπὶ (upon) τὰ (the) πρόσωπα (faces) αὐτῶν (of them), καὶ (and) προσεκύνησαν (worshiped) τῷ (-) Θεῷ (God), ¹² λέγοντες (saying), “Ἀμήν (Amen)! ἡ (-) εὐλογία (Blessing), καὶ (and) ἡ (-) δόξα (glory), καὶ (and) ἡ (-) σοφία (wisdom), καὶ (and) ἡ (-) εὐχαριστία (thanksgiving), καὶ (and) ἡ (-) τιμὴ (honor), καὶ (and) ἡ (-) δύναμις (power), καὶ (and) ἡ (-) ἰσχὺς (strength), τῷ (to the) Θεῷ (God) ἡμῶν (of us), εἰς (to) τοὺς (the) αἰῶνας (ages) τῶν (of the) αἰώνων (ages)! ἀμήν (Amen).” ¹³ Καὶ (And) ἀπεκρίθη (answered) εἷς (one) ἐκ (of) τῶν (the) πρεσβυτέρων (elders), λέγων (saying) μοι (to me), “Οὗτοι (These) οἱ (-) περιβεβλημένοι (having been clothed with) τὰς (the) στολὰς (robes) τὰς (-) λευκὰς (white), τίνες (who) εἰσὶν (are they), καὶ (and) πόθεν (from where) ἦλθον (have they come)?” ¹⁴ Καὶ (And) εἴρηκα (I said) αὐτῷ (to him), “Κύριέ (Lord) μου (of me), σὺ (you) οἶδας (know).” Καὶ (And) εἶπέν (he said) μοι (to me), “Οὗτοί (These) εἰσιν (are) οἱ (the ones) ἐρχόμενοι (coming) ἐκ (out of) τῆς (the) θλίψεως (tribulation) τῆς (-) μεγάλης (great), καὶ (and) ἔπλυναν (they have washed) τὰς (the) στολὰς (robes) αὐτῶν (of them) καὶ (and) ἐλεύκαναν (made white) αὐτὰς (them) ἐν (in) τῷ (the) αἵματι (blood) τοῦ (of the) Ἀρνίου (Lamb). ¹⁵ διὰ (Because of) τοῦτό (this), ‘Εἰσιν (They are) ἐνώπιον (before) τοῦ (the) θρόνου (throne) τοῦ (-) Θεοῦ (of God), καὶ (and) λατρεύουσιν (serve) αὐτῷ (Him) ἡμέρας (day) καὶ (and) νυκτὸς (night) ἐν (in) τῷ (the) ναῷ (temple) αὐτοῦ (of Him); καὶ (and) ὁ (the One) καθήμενος (sitting) ἐπὶ (on) τοῦ (the) θρόνου (throne) σκηνώσει (will tabernacle) ἐπ’ (over) αὐτούς (them). ¹⁶ οὐ (Not) πεινάσουσιν (they will hunger) ἔτι (any more), οὐδὲ (neither) διψήσουσιν (will they thirst) ἔτι (anymore), οὐδὲ (nor) μὴ (at all) πέσῃ (shall fall) ἐπ’ (upon) αὐτοὺς (them) ὁ (the) ἥλιος (sun), οὐδὲ (nor) πᾶν (any) καῦμα (scorching heat); ¹⁷ ὅτι (because) τὸ (the) Ἀρνίον (Lamb) τὸ (-) ἀνὰ (in the) μέσον (center) τοῦ (of the) θρόνου (throne) ποιμανεῖ (will shepherd) αὐτούς (them), καὶ (and) ὁδηγήσει (He will lead) αὐτοὺς (them) ἐπὶ (to) ζωῆς (living) πηγὰς (fountains) ὑδάτων (of waters), καὶ (and) ἐξαλείψει (will wipe away) ὁ (-) Θεὸς (God) πᾶν (every) δάκρυον (tear) ἐκ (from) τῶν (the) ὀφθαλμῶν (eyes) αὐτῶν (of them).’”

⁵ Καὶ (And) ἔτεκεν (she brought forth) υἱόν (a son) ἄρσεν (male), ὃς (who) μέλλει (is about) ποιμαίνειν (to rule) πάντα (all) τὰ (the) ἔθνη (nations) ἐν (with) ῥάβδῳ (a rod) σιδηρᾷ (of iron); καὶ (and) ἡρπάσθη (was caught up) τὸ (the) τέκνον (child) αὐτῆς (of her) πρὸς (to) τὸν (-) Θεὸν (God), καὶ (and) πρὸς (to) τὸν (the) θρόνον (throne) αὐτοῦ (of Him).

³ Καὶ (And) ἀπήνεγκέν (he carried away) με (me) εἰς (into) ἔρημον (a wilderness) ἐν (in) Πνεύματι (the Spirit), καὶ (and) εἶδον (I saw) γυναῖκα (a woman) καθημένην (sitting) ἐπὶ (upon) θηρίον (a beast) κόκκινον (scarlet), γέμοντα (being full) ὀνόματα (of names) βλασφημίας (of blasphemy), ἔχων (having) κεφαλὰς (heads) ἑπτὰ (seven) καὶ (and) κέρατα (horns) δέκα (ten).

⁴ Καὶ (And) ἔπεσαν (fell down) οἱ (the) πρεσβύτεροι (elders) οἱ (-) εἴκοσι (twenty) τέσσαρες (four) καὶ (and) τὰ (the) τέσσαρα (four) ζῷα (living creatures), καὶ (and) προσεκύνησαν (they worshiped) τῷ (-) Θεῷ (God), τῷ (the One) καθημένῳ (sitting) ἐπὶ (on) τῷ (the) θρόνῳ (throne), λέγοντες (saying): “Ἀμήν (Amen), Ἁλληλουϊά (Hallelujah)!”

¹¹ Καὶ (And) εἶδον (I saw) θρόνον (a throne) μέγαν (great) λευκὸν (white), καὶ (and) τὸν (the One) καθήμενον (sitting) ἐπ’ (on) αὐτόν (it), οὗ (whose) ἀπὸ (from) τοῦ (-) προσώπου (face) ἔφυγεν (fled) ἡ (the) γῆ (earth) καὶ (and) ὁ (-) οὐρανός (heaven), καὶ (and) τόπος (place) οὐχ (not) εὑρέθη (was found) αὐτοῖς (for them).

⁵ Καὶ (And) εἶπεν (said) ὁ (the One) καθήμενος (sitting) ἐπὶ (on) τῷ (the) θρόνῳ (throne), “Ἰδοὺ (Behold), καινὰ (new) ποιῶ (I make) πάντα (all things).” καὶ (And) λέγει (He says), “Γράψον (Write this), ὅτι (because) οὗτοι (these) οἱ (the) λόγοι (words) πιστοὶ (faithful) καὶ (and) ἀληθινοί (true) εἰσιν (are).”

¹⁰ Καὶ (And) ἀπήνεγκέν (he carried away) με (me) ἐν (in) Πνεύματι (the Spirit) ἐπὶ (to) ὄρος (a mountain) μέγα (great) καὶ (and) ὑψηλόν (high), καὶ (and) ἔδειξέν (he showed) μοι (me) τὴν (the) πόλιν (city) τὴν (-) ἁγίαν (holy) Ἰερουσαλὴμ (Jerusalem), καταβαίνουσαν (descending) ἐκ (out of) τοῦ (-) οὐρανοῦ (heaven) ἀπὸ (from) τοῦ (-) Θεοῦ (God),

¹ Καὶ (And) ἔδειξέν (he showed) μοι (me) ποταμὸν (a river) ὕδατος (of water) ζωῆς (of life), λαμπρὸν (clear) ὡς (as) κρύσταλλον (crystal), ἐκπορευόμενον (flowing) ἐκ (out of) τοῦ (the) θρόνου (throne) τοῦ (-) Θεοῦ (of God) καὶ (and) τοῦ (of the) Ἀρνίου (Lamb). ² ἐν (In) μέσῳ (the middle) τῆς (of the) πλατείας (street) αὐτῆς (of it) καὶ (and) τοῦ (of the) ποταμοῦ (river), ἐντεῦθεν (on this side) καὶ (and) ἐκεῖθεν (on that side), ξύλον (was a tree) ζωῆς (of life), ποιοῦν (producing) καρποὺς (fruits) δώδεκα (twelve), κατὰ (according to) μῆνα (month), ἕκαστον (each) ἀποδιδοῦν (yielding) τὸν (the) καρπὸν (fruit) αὐτοῦ (of it); καὶ (and) τὰ (the) φύλλα (leaves) τοῦ (of the) ξύλου (tree) εἰς (are for) θεραπείαν (the healing) τῶν (of the) ἐθνῶν (nations). ³ Καὶ (And) πᾶν (any) κατάθεμα (curse) οὐκ (not) ἔσται (there will be) ἔτι (any longer). καὶ (And) ὁ (the) θρόνος (throne) τοῦ (-) Θεοῦ (of God) καὶ (and) τοῦ (of the) Ἀρνίου (Lamb) ἐν (in) αὐτῇ (it) ἔσται (will be), καὶ (and) οἱ (the) δοῦλοι (servants) αὐτοῦ (of Him) λατρεύσουσιν (will serve) αὐτῷ (Him).

¹ Καὶ (And) εἶδον (I saw) ἄλλον (another) ἄγγελον (angel) ἰσχυρὸν (mighty) καταβαίνοντα (coming down) ἐκ (out of) τοῦ (-) οὐρανοῦ (heaven), περιβεβλημένον (clothed with) νεφέλην (a cloud), καὶ (and) ἡ (a) ἶρις (rainbow) ἐπὶ (upon) τὴν (the) κεφαλὴν (head) αὐτοῦ (of him), καὶ (and) τὸ (the) πρόσωπον (face) αὐτοῦ (of him) ὡς (was like) ὁ (the) ἥλιος (sun), καὶ (and) οἱ (the) πόδες (feet) αὐτοῦ (of him) ὡς (like) στῦλοι (pillars) πυρός (of fire),

¹¹ ἔχουσαν (having) τὴν (the) δόξαν (glory) τοῦ (-) Θεοῦ (of God). ὁ (The) φωστὴρ (radiance) αὐτῆς (of it) ὅμοιος (was like) λίθῳ (a stone) τιμιωτάτῳ (most precious), ὡς (like) λίθῳ (a stone) ἰάσπιδι (jasper) κρυσταλλίζοντι (being clear as crystal),

¹⁹ οἱ (the) θεμέλιοι (foundations) τοῦ (of the) τείχους (wall) τῆς (of the) πόλεως (city), παντὶ (with every) λίθῳ (stone) τιμίῳ (precious) κεκοσμημένοι (having been adorned): ὁ (the) θεμέλιος (foundation) ὁ (-) πρῶτος (first) ἴασπις (jasper), ὁ (the) δεύτερος (second) σάπφιρος (sapphire), ὁ (the) τρίτος (third) χαλκηδών (chalcedony), ὁ (the) τέταρτος (fourth) σμάραγδος (emerald), ²⁰ ὁ (the) πέμπτος (fifth) σαρδόνυξ (sardonyx), ὁ (the) ἕκτος (sixth) σάρδιον (sardius), ὁ (the) ἕβδομος (seventh) χρυσόλιθος (chrysolite), ὁ (the) ὄγδοος (eighth) βήρυλλος (beryl), ὁ (the) ἔνατος (ninth) τοπάζιον (topaz), ὁ (the) δέκατος (tenth) χρυσόπρασος (chrysoprase), ὁ (the) ἑνδέκατος (eleventh) ὑάκινθος (jacinth), ὁ (the) δωδέκατος (twelfth) ἀμέθυστος (amethyst).

²⁸ Ὁ (-) δὲ (And) Ἰησοῦς (Jesus) εἶπεν (said) αὐτοῖς (to them), “Ἀμὴν (Truly) λέγω (I say) ὑμῖν (to you) ὅτι (that) ὑμεῖς (you) οἱ (-) ἀκολουθήσαντές (having followed) μοι (Me), ἐν (in) τῇ (the) παλινγενεσίᾳ (regeneration), ὅταν (when) καθίσῃ (shall sit down) ὁ (the) Υἱὸς (Son) τοῦ (-) ἀνθρώπου (of Man) ἐπὶ (upon) θρόνου (the throne) δόξης (of glory) αὐτοῦ (of Him), καθήσεσθε (will sit) καὶ (also) ὑμεῖς* (you) ἐπὶ (on) δώδεκα (twelve) θρόνους (thrones), κρίνοντες (judging) τὰς (the) δώδεκα (twelve) φυλὰς (tribes) τοῦ (-) Ἰσραήλ (of Israel).

³⁰ ἵνα (so that) ἔσθητε (you may eat) καὶ (and) πίνητε (may drink) ἐπὶ (at) τῆς (the) τραπέζης (table) μου (of Me) ἐν (in) τῇ (the) βασιλείᾳ (kingdom) μου (of Me), καὶ (and) καθήσεσθε (may sit) ἐπὶ (on) θρόνων (thrones), τὰς (the) δώδεκα (twelve) φυλὰς (tribes) κρίνοντες (judging) τοῦ (of) Ἰσραήλ (Israel).

⁸ λοιπὸν (From now on) ἀπόκειταί (is laid up) μοι (for me) ὁ (the) τῆς (-) δικαιοσύνης (of righteousness) στέφανος (crown), ὃν (which) ἀποδώσει (will award) μοι (to me) ὁ (the) κύριος (Lord) ἐν (in) ἐκείνῃ (that) τῇ (-) ἡμέρᾳ (day), ὁ (the) δίκαιος (righteous) κριτής (judge); οὐ (not) μόνον (only) δὲ (however) ἐμοὶ (to me), ἀλλὰ (but) καὶ (also) πᾶσι (to all) τοῖς (those) ἠγαπηκόσι (loving) τὴν (the) ἐπιφάνειαν (appearing) αὐτοῦ (of Him).

¹⁰ Μηδὲν* (Not) φοβοῦ (fear) ἃ (what) μέλλεις (you are about) πάσχειν (to suffer). ἰδοὺ (Behold), μέλλει (is about) βάλλειν (to cast) ὁ (the) διάβολος (devil) ἐξ (some of) ὑμῶν (you) εἰς (into) φυλακὴν (prison), ἵνα (so that) πειρασθῆτε (you might be tested); καὶ (and) ἕξετε (you shall have) θλῖψιν (tribulation) ἡμερῶν (days) δέκα (ten). γίνου (Be) πιστὸς (faithful) ἄχρι (unto) θανάτου (death), καὶ (and) δώσω (I will give) σοι (to you) τὸν (the) στέφανον (crown) τῆς (-) ζωῆς (of life).

⁴ Ἀλλὰ (But) ἔχεις (you have) ὀλίγα (a few) ὀνόματα (people) ἐν (in) Σάρδεσιν (Sardis) ἃ (who) οὐκ (not) ἐμόλυναν (have soiled) τὰ (the) ἱμάτια (garments) αὐτῶν (of them), καὶ (and) περιπατήσουσιν (they will walk) μετ’ (with) ἐμοῦ (Me) ἐν (in) λευκοῖς (white), ὅτι (because) ἄξιοί (worthy) εἰσιν (they are). ⁵ Ὁ (The one) νικῶν (overcoming), οὕτως (thus) περιβαλεῖται (will be clothed) ἐν (in) ἱματίοις (garments) λευκοῖς (white). καὶ (And) οὐ (no) μὴ (not) ἐξαλείψω (will I blot out) τὸ (the) ὄνομα (name) αὐτοῦ (of him) ἐκ (from) τῆς (the) βίβλου (book) τῆς (-) ζωῆς (of life), καὶ (and) ὁμολογήσω (I will confess) τὸ (the) ὄνομα (name) αὐτοῦ (of him) ἐνώπιον (before) τοῦ (the) Πατρός (Father) μου (of Me), καὶ (and) ἐνώπιον (before) τῶν (the) ἀγγέλων (angels) αὐτοῦ (of Him).

¹⁰ πεσοῦνται (will fall) οἱ (the) εἴκοσι (twenty) τέσσαρες (four) πρεσβύτεροι (elders) ἐνώπιον (before) τοῦ (the One) καθημένου (sitting) ἐπὶ (upon) τοῦ (the) θρόνου (throne), καὶ (and) προσκυνήσουσιν (they will worship) τῷ (the One) ζῶντι (living) εἰς (to) τοὺς (the) αἰῶνας (ages) τῶν (of the) αἰώνων (ages), καὶ (and) βαλοῦσιν (they will cast) τοὺς (the) στεφάνους (crowns) αὐτῶν (of them) ἐνώπιον (before) τοῦ (the) θρόνου (throne), λέγοντες (saying):

⁸ Καὶ (And) ὅτε (when) ἔλαβεν (He had taken) τὸ (the) βιβλίον (scroll), τὰ (the) τέσσαρα (four) ζῷα (living creatures) καὶ (and) οἱ (the) εἴκοσι (twenty) τέσσαρες (four) πρεσβύτεροι (elders) ἔπεσαν (fell down) ἐνώπιον (before) τοῦ (the) Ἀρνίου (Lamb), ἔχοντες (having) ἕκαστος (each) κιθάραν (a harp) καὶ (and) φιάλας (bowls) χρυσᾶς (golden) γεμούσας (being full) θυμιαμάτων (of incenses), αἵ (which) εἰσιν (are) αἱ (the) προσευχαὶ (prayers) τῶν (of the) ἁγίων (saints).

¹⁴ Καὶ (And) τὰ (the) τέσσαρα (four) ζῷα (living creatures) ἔλεγον (kept saying), “Ἀμήν (Amen).” καὶ (And) οἱ (the) πρεσβύτεροι (elders) ἔπεσαν (fell down) καὶ (and) προσεκύνησαν (worshiped).

¹¹ Καὶ (And) ἐδόθη (were given) αὐτοῖς (to them) ἑκάστῳ (each) στολὴ (robes) λευκή (white), καὶ (and) ἐρρέθη (it was said) αὐτοῖς (to them) ἵνα (that) ἀναπαύσονται (they shall rest) ἔτι (yet) χρόνον (a time) μικρόν (little), ἕως (until) πληρωθῶσιν (would be fulfilled) καὶ (also) οἱ (the) σύνδουλοι (fellow servants) αὐτῶν (of them), καὶ (and) οἱ (the) ἀδελφοὶ (brothers) αὐτῶν (of them), οἱ (those) μέλλοντες (being about) ἀποκτέννεσθαι (to be killed) ὡς (as) καὶ (also had been) αὐτοί (they).

⁷ Καὶ (And) τὰ (the) ὁμοιώματα (appearance) τῶν (of the) ἀκρίδων (locusts was) ὅμοια* (like) ἵπποις (horses) ἡτοιμασμένοις (having been prepared) εἰς (for) πόλεμον (battle), καὶ (and) ἐπὶ (upon) τὰς (the) κεφαλὰς (heads) αὐτῶν (of them) ὡς (were something like) στέφανοι (crowns), ὅμοιοι (like) χρυσῷ (gold); καὶ (and) τὰ (the) πρόσωπα (faces) αὐτῶν (of them) ὡς (like) πρόσωπα (the faces) ἀνθρώπων (of men).

¹⁶ Καὶ (And) οἱ (the) εἴκοσι (twenty) τέσσαρες (four) πρεσβύτεροι (elders) οἱ (-) ἐνώπιον (before) τοῦ (-) Θεοῦ (God) καθήμενοι (sitting) ἐπὶ (on) τοὺς (the) θρόνους (thrones) αὐτῶν (of them) ἔπεσαν (fell) ἐπὶ (upon) τὰ (the) πρόσωπα (faces) αὐτῶν (of them) καὶ (and) προσεκύνησαν (worshiped) τῷ (-) Θεῷ (God),

¹⁴ Καὶ (And) τὰ (the) στρατεύματα (armies) τὰ (who were) ἐν (in) τῷ (-) οὐρανῷ (heaven) ἠκολούθει (were following) αὐτῷ (Him) ἐφ’ (upon) ἵπποις (horses) λευκοῖς (white), ἐνδεδυμένοι (having been clothed in) βύσσινον (fine linen), λευκὸν (white), καθαρόν (pure).

⁴ ‹Καὶ (And) εἶδον (I saw) θρόνους (thrones), καὶ (and) ἐκάθισαν (they sat) ἐπ’ (upon) αὐτούς (them), καὶ (and) κρίμα (judgment) ἐδόθη (was given) αὐτοῖς (to them), καὶ (and) τὰς (the) ψυχὰς (souls) τῶν (of those) πεπελεκισμένων (having been beheaded) διὰ (because of) τὴν (the) μαρτυρίαν (testimony) Ἰησοῦ (of Jesus) καὶ (and) διὰ (because of) τὸν (the) λόγον (word) τοῦ (-) θεοῦ (of God), καὶ (and) οἵτινες (those who) οὐ (not) προσεκύνησαν (did worship) τὸ (the) θηρίον (beast), οὐδὲ (nor) τὴν (the) εἰκόνα (image) αὐτοῦ (of him), καὶ (and) οὐκ (not) ἔλαβον (did take) τὸ (the) χάραγμα (mark) ἐπὶ (upon) τὸ (the) μέτωπον (forehead), καὶ (and) ἐπὶ (upon) τὴν (the) χεῖρα (hand) αὐτῶν (of them). καὶ (And) ἔζησαν (they lived) καὶ (and) ἐβασίλευσαν (reigned) μετὰ (with) τοῦ (-) χριστοῦ (Christ) χίλια (a thousand) ἔτη› (years).

¹¹ Ἐγὼ (I) μὲν (indeed) ὑμᾶς (you) βαπτίζω (baptize) ἐν (with) ὕδατι (water) εἰς (to) μετάνοιαν (repentance), ὁ (-) δὲ (but) ὀπίσω (after) μου (me) ἐρχόμενος (is coming) ἰσχυρότερός (mightier) μού (than I), ἐστιν (He) οὗ (of whom) οὐκ (not) εἰμὶ (I am) ἱκανὸς (fit) τὰ (the) ὑποδήματα (sandals) βαστάσαι (to carry). αὐτὸς (He) ὑμᾶς (you) βαπτίσει (will baptize) ἐν (with) Πνεύματι (the Spirit) Ἁγίῳ (Holy) καὶ (and) πυρί (with fire),

³ καὶ (And) ὤφθησαν (there appeared) αὐτοῖς (to them) διαμεριζόμεναι (dividing) γλῶσσαι (tongues) ὡσεὶ (as) πυρός (of fire) καὶ (and) ἐκάθισεν (sat) ἐφ’ (upon) ἕνα (one) ἕκαστον (each) αὐτῶν (of them).

⁴ Διαιρέσεις (Varieties) δὲ (now) χαρισμάτων (of gifts) εἰσίν (there are), τὸ (-) δὲ (but) αὐτὸ (the same) Πνεῦμα (Spirit); ⁵ καὶ (and) διαιρέσεις (varieties) διακονιῶν (of services) εἰσιν (there are), καὶ (but) ὁ (the) αὐτὸς (same) Κύριος (Lord); ⁶ καὶ (and) διαιρέσεις (varieties) ἐνεργημάτων (of workings) εἰσίν (there are), ὁ (the) δὲ (but) αὐτὸς (same) Θεός (God) ὁ (-) ἐνεργῶν (is working) τὰ (the) πάντα (all things) ἐν (in) πᾶσιν (everyone). ⁷ Ἑκάστῳ (To each) δὲ (now) δίδοται (is given) ἡ (the) φανέρωσις (manifestation) τοῦ (of the) Πνεύματος (Spirit) πρὸς (for) τὸ (the) συμφέρον (common profiting). ⁸ ᾧ (To one) μὲν (truly) γὰρ (for) διὰ (through) τοῦ (the) Πνεύματος (Spirit) δίδοται (is given) λόγος (a word) σοφίας (of wisdom), ἄλλῳ (to another) δὲ (now) λόγος (a word) γνώσεως (of knowledge), κατὰ (according to) τὸ (the) αὐτὸ (same) Πνεῦμα (Spirit), ⁹ ἑτέρῳ (and to a different one), πίστις (faith) ἐν (by) τῷ (the) αὐτῷ (same) Πνεύματι (Spirit), ἄλλῳ (to another) δὲ (now) χαρίσματα (gifts) ἰαμάτων (of healing) ἐν (in) τῷ (that) ἑνὶ (one) Πνεύματι (Spirit), ¹⁰ ἄλλῳ (to another) δὲ (now) ἐνεργήματα (working) δυνάμεων (of miracles), ἄλλῳ (to another) δὲ (now) προφητεία (prophecy), ἄλλῳ (to another) δὲ (now) διακρίσεις (distinguishing) πνευμάτων (of spirits), ἑτέρῳ (and to a different one) γένη (various kinds) γλωσσῶν (of tongues), ἄλλῳ (to another) δὲ (now) ἑρμηνεία (interpretation) γλωσσῶν (of tongues). ¹¹ πάντα (All) δὲ (now) ταῦτα (these things) ἐνεργεῖ (works) τὸ (the) ἓν (one) καὶ (and) τὸ (the) αὐτὸ (same) Πνεῦμα (Spirit), διαιροῦν (apportioning) ἰδίᾳ (individually) ἑκάστῳ (to each) καθὼς (as) βούλεται (He wills).

¹⁸ Οὐ (Not) γὰρ (for) προσεληλύθατε (you have come to) ψηλαφωμένῳ (that being touched) καὶ (and) κεκαυμένῳ (having been kindled) πυρὶ (with fire), καὶ (and) γνόφῳ (to darkness), καὶ (and) ζόφῳ (to gloom), καὶ (and) θυέλλῃ (to storm), ¹⁹ καὶ (and) σάλπιγγος (of a trumpet) ἤχῳ (to the sound), καὶ (and) φωνῇ (to a voice) ῥημάτων (of words), ἧς (which) οἱ (those) ἀκούσαντες (having heard) παρῃτήσαντο (excused themselves), μὴ (asking not) προστεθῆναι (to be addressed) αὐτοῖς (to them) λόγον (the word), ²⁰ οὐκ (not) ἔφερον (they could bear) γὰρ (for) τὸ (that) διαστελλόμενον (being commanded): “Κἂν (If even) θηρίον (a beast) θίγῃ (should touch) τοῦ (the) ὄρους (mountain), λιθοβοληθήσεται (it shall be stoned).” ²¹ καί (And) οὕτω (so) φοβερὸν (fearful) ἦν (was) τὸ (the thing) φανταζόμενον (appearing that) Μωϋσῆς (Moses) εἶπεν (said), “Ἔκφοβός (Greatly afraid) εἰμι (I am), καὶ (and) ἔντρομος (trembling).” ²² Ἀλλὰ (But) προσεληλύθατε (you have come to) Σιὼν (Zion) ὄρει (Mount), καὶ (and) πόλει (the city) Θεοῦ (of God) ζῶντος (the living), Ἰερουσαλὴμ (the Jerusalem) ἐπουρανίῳ (heavenly), καὶ (and) μυριάσιν (to myriads) ἀγγέλων (of angels), ²³ πανηγύρει (to the assembly), καὶ (and) ἐκκλησίᾳ (to the church) πρωτοτόκων (of the firstborn) ἀπογεγραμμένων (having been enrolled) ἐν (in) οὐρανοῖς (the heavens), καὶ (and) Κριτῇ (to the judge) Θεῷ (God) πάντων (of all), καὶ (and) πνεύμασι (to the spirits) δικαίων (of the righteous) τετελειωμένων (having been perfected), ²⁴ καὶ (and) διαθήκης (of a covenant) νέας (new) μεσίτῃ (the mediator), Ἰησοῦ (to Jesus), καὶ (and) αἵματι (to the blood) ῥαντισμοῦ (of sprinkling) κρεῖττον (better things) λαλοῦντι (speaking) παρὰ (than) τὸν (that of) Ἅβελ (Abel). ²⁵ Βλέπετε (Take heed) μὴ (lest) παραιτήσησθε (you refuse) τὸν (the One) λαλοῦντα (speaking). εἰ (If) γὰρ (for) ἐκεῖνοι (they) οὐκ (not) ἐξέφυγον (escaped), ἐπὶ (on) γῆς (earth) παραιτησάμενοι (having refused) τὸν (the One) χρηματίζοντα (divinely instructing them), πολὺ (much) μᾶλλον (less) ἡμεῖς (we) οἱ (-) τὸν (the One) ἀπ’ (from) οὐρανῶν (the heavens) ἀποστρεφόμενοι (turning away from), ²⁶ οὗ (whose) ἡ (-) φωνὴ (voice) τὴν (the) γῆν (earth) ἐσάλευσεν (shook) τότε (at that time); νῦν (now) δὲ (however) ἐπήγγελται (He has promised), λέγων (saying), “Ἔτι (Yet) ἅπαξ (once more) ἐγὼ (I) σείσω (will shake) οὐ (not) μόνον (only) τὴν (the) γῆν (earth), ἀλλὰ (but) καὶ (also) τὸν (-) οὐρανόν (heaven).” ²⁷ τὸ (This) δὲ (now), “Ἔτι (Yet) ἅπαξ (once more),” δηλοῖ (signifies) τὴν (the) τῶν (of the things) σαλευομένων (being shaken) μετάθεσιν (removing), ὡς (as) πεποιημένων (having been created), ἵνα (so that) μείνῃ (should remain) τὰ (the things) μὴ (not) σαλευόμενα (being shaken). ²⁸ Διὸ (Therefore) βασιλείαν (a kingdom) ἀσάλευτον (not to be shaken) παραλαμβάνοντες (receiving), ἔχωμεν (we may have) χάριν (grace), δι’ (by) ἧς (which) λατρεύωμεν (we may serve) εὐαρέστως (well pleasingly) τῷ (-) Θεῷ (God), μετὰ (with) εὐλαβείας (reverence) καὶ (and) δέους (awe). ²⁹ καὶ (Also) γὰρ (for) ὁ (the) Θεὸς (God) ἡμῶν (of us) πῦρ (is a fire) καταναλίσκον (consuming).

¹ Καὶ (And) τῷ (to the) ἀγγέλῳ (messenger) τῆς (of the) ἐν (in) Σάρδεσιν (Sardis) ἐκκλησίας (church) γράψον (write): Τάδε (These things) λέγει (says) ὁ (the One) ἔχων (having) τὰ (the) ἑπτὰ (seven) Πνεύματα (Spirits) τοῦ (-) Θεοῦ (of God), καὶ (and) τοὺς (the) ἑπτὰ (seven) ἀστέρας (stars). Οἶδά (I know) σου (your) τὰ (-) ἔργα (deeds), ὅτι (that) ὄνομα (the characterization) ἔχεις (you have) ὅτι (that) ζῇς (you are alive), καὶ (and yet) νεκρὸς (dead) εἶ (you are).

⁶ Καὶ (And) εἶδον (I saw) ἐν (in) μέσῳ (the midst) τοῦ (of the) θρόνου (throne) καὶ (and) τῶν (of the) τεσσάρων (four) ζῴων (living creatures), καὶ (and) ἐν (in) μέσῳ (the midst) τῶν (of the) πρεσβυτέρων (elders), Ἀρνίον (a Lamb) ἑστηκὸς (standing) ὡς (as) ἐσφαγμένον (having been slain), ἔχων (having) κέρατα (horns) ἑπτὰ (seven) καὶ (and) ὀφθαλμοὺς (eyes) ἑπτά (seven), οἵ (which) εἰσιν (are) τὰ (the) ἑπτὰ (seven) Πνεύματα (Spirits) τοῦ (-) Θεοῦ (of God), ἀπεσταλμένοι (having been sent out) εἰς (into) πᾶσαν (all) τὴν (the) γῆν (earth).

⁵ Καὶ (And) εἴληφεν (took) ὁ (the) ἄγγελος (angel) τὸν (the) λιβανωτόν (censer), καὶ (and) ἐγέμισεν (filled) αὐτὸν (it) ἐκ (from) τοῦ (the) πυρὸς (fire) τοῦ (of the) θυσιαστηρίου (altar), καὶ (and) ἔβαλεν (cast it) εἰς (to) τὴν (the) γῆν (earth); καὶ (and) ἐγένοντο (there were) βρονταὶ (thunders), καὶ (and) φωναὶ (rumblings), καὶ (and) ἀστραπαὶ (flashes of lightning), καὶ (and) σεισμός (an earthquake).

¹⁹ Καὶ (And) ἠνοίγη (was opened) ὁ (the) ναὸς (temple) τοῦ (-) Θεοῦ (of God) ὁ (-) ἐν (in) τῷ (-) οὐρανῷ (heaven), καὶ (and) ὤφθη (was seen) ἡ (the) κιβωτὸς (ark) τῆς (of the) διαθήκης (covenant) αὐτοῦ (of Him) ἐν (in) τῷ (the) ναῷ (temple) αὐτοῦ (of Him). καὶ (And) ἐγένοντο (there were) ἀστραπαὶ (flashes of lightning), καὶ (and) φωναὶ (voices), καὶ (and) βρονταὶ (thunders), καὶ (and) σεισμὸς (an earthquake), καὶ (and) χάλαζα (hail) μεγάλη (great).

¹⁷ Καὶ (And) ὁ (the) ἕβδομος (seventh) ἐξέχεεν (poured out) τὴν (the) φιάλην (bowl) αὐτοῦ (of him) ἐπὶ (upon) τὸν (the) ἀέρα (air), καὶ (and) ἐξῆλθεν (came out) φωνὴ (a voice) μεγάλη (loud) ἐκ (from) τοῦ (the) ναοῦ (temple) ἀπὸ (from) τοῦ (the) θρόνου (throne), λέγουσα (saying), “Γέγονεν (It is done)!” ¹⁸ Καὶ (And) ἐγένοντο (there were) ἀστραπαὶ (flashes of lightning), καὶ (and) φωναὶ (voices), καὶ (and) βρονταί (thunders); καὶ (and) σεισμὸς (an earthquake) ἐγένετο (there was) μέγας (great), οἷος (such as) οὐκ (not) ἐγένετο (had there been) ἀφ’ (since) οὗ (-) ἄνθρωπος (men) ἐγένετο (were) ἐπὶ (upon) τῆς (the) γῆς (earth), τηλικοῦτος (so great) σεισμὸς (was the earthquake), οὕτω (so) μέγας (mighty).

⁸ καὶ (And) τὰ (the) τέσσαρα (four) ζῷα (living creatures), ἓν (one) καθ’ (for) ἓν (one) αὐτῶν (of them) ἔχων (had) ἀνὰ (respectively) πτέρυγας (wings) ἕξ (six), κυκλόθεν (all around) καὶ (and) ἔσωθεν (within) γέμουσιν (full) ὀφθαλμῶν (of eyes); καὶ (and) ἀνάπαυσιν (rest) οὐκ (not) ἔχουσιν (they have) ἡμέρας (day) καὶ (and) νυκτὸς (night), λέγοντες (saying): “Ἅγιος (Holy), ἅγιος (Holy), ἅγιος (Holy), Κύριος (Lord) ὁ (-) Θεός (God) ὁ (-) Παντοκράτωρ (Almighty), ὁ (the One) ἦν (having been), καὶ (and) ὁ (the One) ὢν (being), καὶ (and) ὁ (the One) ἐρχόμενος (coming).” ⁹ Καὶ (And) ὅταν (whenever) δώσουσιν (will give) τὰ (the) ζῷα (living creatures) δόξαν (glory) καὶ (and) τιμὴν (honor) καὶ (and) εὐχαριστίαν (thanksgiving) τῷ (to the One) καθημένῳ (sitting) ἐπὶ (upon) τῷ (the) θρόνῳ (throne), τῷ (the One) ζῶντι (living) εἰς (to) τοὺς (the) αἰῶνας (ages) τῶν (of the) αἰώνων (ages),

¹⁴ Καὶ (And) τὰ (the) τέσσαρα (four) ζῷα (living creatures) ἔλεγον (kept saying), “Ἀμήν (Amen).” καὶ (And) οἱ (the) πρεσβύτεροι (elders) ἔπεσαν (fell down) καὶ (and) προσεκύνησαν (worshiped).

¹⁷ ὅτι (because) τὸ (the) Ἀρνίον (Lamb) τὸ (-) ἀνὰ (in the) μέσον (center) τοῦ (of the) θρόνου (throne) ποιμανεῖ (will shepherd) αὐτούς (them), καὶ (and) ὁδηγήσει (He will lead) αὐτοὺς (them) ἐπὶ (to) ζωῆς (living) πηγὰς (fountains) ὑδάτων (of waters), καὶ (and) ἐξαλείψει (will wipe away) ὁ (-) Θεὸς (God) πᾶν (every) δάκρυον (tear) ἐκ (from) τῶν (the) ὀφθαλμῶν (eyes) αὐτῶν (of them).’”

³ Καὶ (And) ᾄδουσιν (they are singing) ‹ὡς› (as) ᾠδὴν (a song) καινὴν (new) ἐνώπιον (before) τοῦ (the) θρόνου (throne), καὶ (and) ἐνώπιον (before) τῶν (the) τεσσάρων (four) ζῴων (living creatures), καὶ (and) τῶν (the) πρεσβυτέρων (elders). καὶ (And) οὐδεὶς (no one) ἐδύνατο (was able) μαθεῖν (to learn) τὴν (the) ᾠδὴν (song), εἰ (if) μὴ (not) αἱ (the) ἑκατὸν (one hundred) τεσσεράκοντα (forty) τέσσαρες (four) χιλιάδες (thousand) οἱ (-) ἠγορασμένοι (having been redeemed) ἀπὸ (from) τῆς (the) γῆς (earth).

² Καὶ (And) εἶδον (I saw) ὡς (something like) θάλασσαν (a sea) ὑαλίνην (of glass) μεμιγμένην (mingled) πυρί (with fire), καὶ (and) τοὺς (those) νικῶντας (conquering) ἐκ (over) τοῦ (the) θηρίου (beast), καὶ (and) ἐκ (of) τῆς (the) εἰκόνος (image) αὐτοῦ (of it), καὶ (and) ἐκ (over) τοῦ (the) ἀριθμοῦ (number) τοῦ (of the) ὀνόματος (name) αὐτοῦ (of it), ἑστῶτας (standing) ἐπὶ (upon) τὴν (the) θάλασσαν (sea) τὴν (of the) ὑαλίνην (glass), ἔχοντας (having) κιθάρας (harps) τοῦ (-) Θεοῦ (of God).

⁷ Καὶ (And) ἓν (one) ἐκ (of) τῶν (the) τεσσάρων (four) ζῴων (living creatures) ἔδωκεν (gave) τοῖς (to the) ἑπτὰ (seven) ἀγγέλοις (angels) ἑπτὰ (seven) φιάλας (bowls) χρυσᾶς (golden) γεμούσας (full) τοῦ (of the) θυμοῦ (wrath) τοῦ (-) Θεοῦ (of God), τοῦ (the One) ζῶντος (living) εἰς (to) τοὺς (the) αἰῶνας (ages) τῶν (of the) αἰώνων (ages).

¹⁸ Καὶ (And) ἡ (the) ἐνδώμησις (structure) τοῦ (of the) τείχους (wall) αὐτῆς (of it) ἴασπις (was jasper), καὶ (and) ἡ (the) πόλις (city) χρυσίον (gold) καθαρὸν (pure), ὅμοιον (like) ὑάλῳ (glass) καθαρῷ (clear),

²¹ Καὶ (And) οἱ (the) δώδεκα (twelve) πυλῶνες (gates were) δώδεκα (twelve) μαργαρῖται (pearls); ἀνὰ (respectively) εἷς (one) ἕκαστος (each) τῶν (of the) πυλώνων (gates) ἦν (was) ἐξ (of) ἑνὸς (one) μαργαρίτου (pearl). καὶ (and) ἡ (the) πλατεῖα (street) τῆς (of the) πόλεως (city) χρυσίον (gold), καθαρὸν (pure) ὡς (as) ὕαλος (glass) διαυγής (transparent).

¹ Καὶ (And) ἔδειξέν (he showed) μοι (me) ποταμὸν (a river) ὕδατος (of water) ζωῆς (of life), λαμπρὸν (clear) ὡς (as) κρύσταλλον (crystal), ἐκπορευόμενον (flowing) ἐκ (out of) τοῦ (the) θρόνου (throne) τοῦ (-) Θεοῦ (of God) καὶ (and) τοῦ (of the) Ἀρνίου (Lamb).

⁹ ἐν (In) γὰρ (for) τῷ (the) Μωϋσέως (of Moses) νόμῳ (law), γέγραπται (it has been written): “Οὐ (Not) κημώσεις (you shall muzzle) βοῦν (an ox) ἀλοῶντα (treading out grain).” μὴ (Not) τῶν (for the) βοῶν (oxen) μέλει (is there care) τῷ (-) Θεῷ (with God)? ¹⁰ ἢ (Or) δι’ (because of) ἡμᾶς (us) πάντως (entirely) λέγει (is He speaking)? δι’ (For sake of) ἡμᾶς (us) γὰρ (for) ἐγράφη (it was written), ὅτι (because) ὀφείλει (ought) ἐπ’ (in) ἐλπίδι (hope) ὁ (the one) ἀροτριῶν (plowing) ἀροτριᾶν (to plow), καὶ (and) ὁ (the one) ἀλοῶν (threshing), ἐπ’ (in) ἐλπίδι (hope) τοῦ (-) μετέχειν (to partake).

²⁰ Ἀδελφοί (Brothers), μὴ (not) παιδία (children) γίνεσθε (be) ταῖς (in the) φρεσίν (minds). ἀλλὰ (Yet) τῇ (in the) κακίᾳ (evil), νηπιάζετε (be little children); ταῖς (in the) δὲ (however) φρεσὶν (thinking), τέλειοι (full grown) γίνεσθε (be).

⁶ καὶ (And) ἐνώπιον (before) τοῦ (the) θρόνου (throne) ὡς (was something like) θάλασσα (a sea) ὑαλίνη (of glass), ὁμοία (like) κρυστάλλῳ (crystal). καὶ (And) ἐν (in) μέσῳ (the midst) τοῦ (of the) θρόνου (throne) καὶ (and) κύκλῳ (around) τοῦ (the) θρόνου (throne) τέσσαρα (were four) ζῷα (living creatures), γέμοντα (being full) ὀφθαλμῶν (of eyes) ἔμπροσθεν (in front) καὶ (and) ὄπισθεν (behind).

³¹ διὸ (Therefore) γρηγορεῖτε (stay awake), μνημονεύοντες (remembering) ὅτι (that) τριετίαν (three years), νύκτα (night) καὶ (and) ἡμέραν (day), οὐκ (not) ἐπαυσάμην (I ceased) μετὰ (with) δακρύων (tears) νουθετῶν (admonishing) ἕνα (one) ἕκαστον (each).

¹⁸ Καὶ (and) “Ἔσομαι (I will be) ὑμῖν (to you) εἰς (for) Πατέρα (a father), καὶ (and) ὑμεῖς (you) ἔσεσθέ (will be) μοι (to Me) εἰς (for) υἱοὺς (sons) καὶ (and) θυγατέρας (daughters), λέγει (says) Κύριος (the Lord) Παντοκράτωρ (Almighty).”

⁹ Μνημονεύετε (You remember) γάρ (for), ἀδελφοί (brothers), τὸν (the) κόπον (labor) ἡμῶν (of us) καὶ (and) τὸν (-) μόχθον (hardship): νυκτὸς (Night) καὶ (and) ἡμέρας (day) ἐργαζόμενοι (working), πρὸς (in order) τὸ (-) μὴ (not) ἐπιβαρῆσαί (to burden) τινα (anyone) ὑμῶν (of you), ἐκηρύξαμεν (we proclaimed) εἰς (to) ὑμᾶς (you) τὸ (the) εὐαγγέλιον (gospel) τοῦ (-) Θεοῦ (of God).

² κήρυξον (Preach) τὸν (the) λόγον (word); ἐπίστηθι (be ready) εὐκαίρως (in season) ἀκαίρως (and out of season); ἔλεγξον (convict), ἐπιτίμησον (rebuke), παρακάλεσον (and exhort), ἐν (with) πάσῃ (complete) μακροθυμίᾳ (patience) καὶ (and) διδαχῇ (instruction).

⁴ καὶ (And) κυκλόθεν (around) τοῦ (the) θρόνου (throne), θρόνους (thrones) εἴκοσι (were twenty) τέσσαρες (four); καὶ (and) ἐπὶ (on) τοὺς (the) θρόνους (thrones) εἴκοσι (twenty) τέσσαρας (four) πρεσβυτέρους (elders) καθημένους (sitting), περιβεβλημένους (having been clothed) ἐν (in) ἱματίοις (garments) λευκοῖς (white); καὶ (and) ἐπὶ (on) τὰς (the) κεφαλὰς (heads) αὐτῶν (of them), στεφάνους (crowns) χρυσοῦς (golden).

¹⁵ διὰ (Because of) τοῦτό (this), ‘Εἰσιν (They are) ἐνώπιον (before) τοῦ (the) θρόνου (throne) τοῦ (-) Θεοῦ (of God), καὶ (and) λατρεύουσιν (serve) αὐτῷ (Him) ἡμέρας (day) καὶ (and) νυκτὸς (night) ἐν (in) τῷ (the) ναῷ (temple) αὐτοῦ (of Him); καὶ (and) ὁ (the One) καθήμενος (sitting) ἐπὶ (on) τοῦ (the) θρόνου (throne) σκηνώσει (will tabernacle) ἐπ’ (over) αὐτούς (them).

¹⁷ λέγοντες (saying): “Εὐχαριστοῦμέν (We give thanks) σοι (to You), Κύριε (Lord) ὁ (-) Θεός (God) ὁ (-) Παντοκράτωρ (Almighty), ὁ (the One) ὢν (being), καὶ (and) ὁ (who) ἦν (was), ὅτι (that) εἴληφας (You have taken) τὴν (the) δύναμίν (power) σου (of You) τὴν (-) μεγάλην (great), καὶ (and) ἐβασίλευσας (have begun to reign).

¹¹ καὶ (And) ὁ (the) καπνὸς (smoke) τοῦ (of the) βασανισμοῦ (torment) αὐτῶν (of them) εἰς (to) αἰῶνας (ages) αἰώνων (of ages) ἀναβαίνει (goes up); καὶ (and) οὐκ (not) ἔχουσιν (have) ἀνάπαυσιν (rest) ἡμέρας (day) καὶ (and) νυκτός (night) οἱ (those) προσκυνοῦντες (worshiping) τὸ (the) θηρίον (beast) καὶ (and) τὴν (the) εἰκόνα (image) αὐτοῦ (of it), καὶ (and) εἴ (if) τις (anyone) λαμβάνει (receives) τὸ (the) χάραγμα (mark) τοῦ (of the) ὀνόματος (name) αὐτοῦ (of it).”

³ καὶ (And) ᾄδουσιν (they are singing) τὴν (the) ᾠδὴν (song) Μωϋσέως (of Moses), τοῦ (the) δούλου (servant) τοῦ (of) Θεοῦ (God), καὶ (and) τὴν (the) ᾠδὴν (song) τοῦ (of the) Ἀρνίου (Lamb), λέγοντες (saying): “Μεγάλα (Great) καὶ (and) θαυμαστὰ (wonderful are) τὰ (the) ἔργα (works) σου (of You), Κύριε (Lord) ὁ (-) Θεός (God) ὁ (the) Παντοκράτωρ (Almighty)! δίκαιαι (Righteous) καὶ (and) ἀληθιναὶ (true are) αἱ (the) ὁδοί (ways) σου (of You), ὁ (O) Βασιλεὺς (King) τῶν (of the) ἐθνῶν (nations)!

⁷ Καὶ (And) ἤκουσα (I heard) τοῦ (the) θυσιαστηρίου (altar) λέγοντος (saying): “Ναί (Yes), Κύριε (Lord) ὁ (-) Θεός (God) ὁ (-) Παντοκράτωρ (Almighty), ἀληθιναὶ (true) καὶ (and) δίκαιαι (righteous are) αἱ (the) κρίσεις (judgments) σου (of You).”

¹⁴ εἰσὶν (they are) γὰρ (for) πνεύματα (spirits) δαιμονίων (of demons) ποιοῦντα (performing) σημεῖα (signs), ἃ (which) ἐκπορεύεται (go forth) ἐπὶ (to) τοὺς (the) βασιλεῖς (kings) τῆς (of the) οἰκουμένης (inhabited world) ὅλης (whole), συναγαγεῖν (to gather together) αὐτοὺς (them) εἰς (unto) τὸν (the) πόλεμον (battle) τῆς (of the) ἡμέρας (day) τῆς (-) μεγάλης (great) τοῦ (-) Θεοῦ (of God) τοῦ (the) Παντοκράτορος (Almighty).

¹⁵ καὶ (And) ἐκ (out of) τοῦ (the) στόματος (mouth) αὐτοῦ (of Him) ἐκπορεύεται (goes forth) ῥομφαία (a sword) ὀξεῖα (sharp), ἵνα (so that) ἐν (with) αὐτῇ (it) πατάξῃ (He may strike down) τὰ (the) ἔθνη (nations); καὶ (and) αὐτὸς (He) ποιμανεῖ (will shepherd) αὐτοὺς (them) ἐν (with) ῥάβδῳ (a rod) σιδηρᾷ (of iron). καὶ (And) αὐτὸς (He) πατεῖ (treads) τὴν (the) ληνὸν (press) τοῦ (of the) οἴνου (wine) τοῦ (of the) θυμοῦ (fury) τῆς (of the) ὀργῆς (wrath) τοῦ (-) Θεοῦ (of God) τοῦ (the) Παντοκράτορος (Almighty).

²² Καὶ (And) ναὸν (temple) οὐκ (not) εἶδον (I saw) ἐν (in) αὐτῇ (it); ὁ (-) γὰρ (for) Κύριος (the Lord) ὁ (-) Θεὸς (God) ὁ (-) Παντοκράτωρ (Almighty), ναὸς (temple) αὐτῆς (of it) ἐστιν (is), καὶ (and) τὸ (the) Ἀρνίον (Lamb).

⁸ Καὶ (And) ὧδε (here) μὲν (indeed) δεκάτας (tithes), ἀποθνῄσκοντες (dying) ἄνθρωποι (men) λαμβάνουσιν (receive); ἐκεῖ (in that place) δὲ (however), μαρτυρούμενος (it is testified) ὅτι (that) ζῇ (he lives on).

²⁵ ὅθεν (wherefore) καὶ (also), σῴζειν (to save) εἰς (to) τὸ (the) παντελὲς (uttermost) δύναται (He is able), τοὺς (those) προσερχομένους (drawing near) δι’ (through) αὐτοῦ (Him) τῷ (-) Θεῷ (to God), πάντοτε (always) ζῶν (living) εἰς (for) τὸ (-) ἐντυγχάνειν (to intercede) ὑπὲρ (for) αὐτῶν (them).

¹⁸ καὶ (and) ὁ (the) Ζῶν (Living One); καὶ (and) ἐγενόμην (I was) νεκρὸς (dead), καὶ (and) ἰδοὺ (behold) ζῶν (living) εἰμι (I am) εἰς (to) τοὺς (the) αἰῶνας (ages) τῶν (of the) αἰώνων (ages), καὶ (and) ἔχω (I have) τὰς (the) κλεῖς (keys) τοῦ (of) θανάτου (Death) καὶ (and) τοῦ (of) ᾅδου (Hades).

¹³ Καὶ (And) πᾶν (every) κτίσμα (creature) ὃ (which) ἐν (in) τῷ (-) οὐρανῷ (heaven), καὶ (and) ἐπὶ (upon) τῆς (the) γῆς (earth), καὶ (and) ὑποκάτω (under) τῆς (the) γῆς (earth), καὶ (and) ἐπὶ (on) τῆς (the) θαλάσσης (sea) 〈ἐστίν〉 (is), καὶ (and) τὰ (-) ἐν (in) αὐτοῖς (them) πάντα (everything), ἤκουσα (I heard) λέγοντας (saying): “Τῷ (To the One) καθημένῳ (sitting) ἐπὶ (on) τῷ (the) θρόνῳ (throne), καὶ (and) τῷ (to the) Ἀρνίῳ (Lamb), ἡ (-) εὐλογία (blessing) καὶ (and) ἡ (-) τιμὴ (honor) καὶ (and) ἡ (-) δόξα (glory) καὶ (and) τὸ (-) κράτος (might) εἰς (to) τοὺς (the) αἰῶνας (ages) τῶν (of the) αἰώνων (ages).” ¹⁴ Καὶ (And) τὰ (the) τέσσαρα (four) ζῷα (living creatures) ἔλεγον (kept saying), “Ἀμήν (Amen).” καὶ (And) οἱ (the) πρεσβύτεροι (elders) ἔπεσαν (fell down) καὶ (and) προσεκύνησαν (worshiped).

¹¹ Καὶ (And) πάντες (all) οἱ (the) ἄγγελοι (angels) εἱστήκεισαν (stood) κύκλῳ (around) τοῦ (the) θρόνου (throne), καὶ (and) τῶν (the) πρεσβυτέρων (elders), καὶ (and) τῶν (the) τεσσάρων (four) ζῴων (living creatures), καὶ (and) ἔπεσαν (they fell) ἐνώπιον (before) τοῦ (the) θρόνου (throne) ἐπὶ (upon) τὰ (the) πρόσωπα (faces) αὐτῶν (of them), καὶ (and) προσεκύνησαν (worshiped) τῷ (-) Θεῷ (God), ¹² λέγοντες (saying), “Ἀμήν (Amen)! ἡ (-) εὐλογία (Blessing), καὶ (and) ἡ (-) δόξα (glory), καὶ (and) ἡ (-) σοφία (wisdom), καὶ (and) ἡ (-) εὐχαριστία (thanksgiving), καὶ (and) ἡ (-) τιμὴ (honor), καὶ (and) ἡ (-) δύναμις (power), καὶ (and) ἡ (-) ἰσχὺς (strength), τῷ (to the) Θεῷ (God) ἡμῶν (of us), εἰς (to) τοὺς (the) αἰῶνας (ages) τῶν (of the) αἰώνων (ages)! ἀμήν (Amen).”

⁶ καὶ (and) ὤμοσεν (he swore) ἐν (by) τῷ (the One) ζῶντι (living) εἰς (to) τοὺς (the) αἰῶνας (ages) τῶν (of the) αἰώνων (ages), ὃς (who) ἔκτισεν (created) τὸν (-) οὐρανὸν (heaven) καὶ (and) τὰ (the things) ἐν (in) αὐτῷ (it), καὶ (and) τὴν (the) γῆν (earth) καὶ (and) τὰ (the things) ἐν (in) αὐτῇ (it), καὶ (and) τὴν (the) θάλασσαν (sea) καὶ (and) τὰ (the things) ἐν (in) αὐτῇ (it) ὅτι (-), “Χρόνος (Delay) οὐκέτι (no longer) ἔσται (will there be)!

¹¹ καὶ (And) ἐλθόντες (having come) εἰς (into) τὴν (the) οἰκίαν (house), εἶδον (they found) τὸ (the) παιδίον (Child) μετὰ (with) Μαρίας (Mary) τῆς (the) μητρὸς (mother) αὐτοῦ (of Him), καὶ (and) πεσόντες (having fallen down), προσεκύνησαν (they worshiped) αὐτῷ (Him); καὶ (and) ἀνοίξαντες (having opened) τοὺς (the) θησαυροὺς (treasures) αὐτῶν (of them), προσήνεγκαν (they offered) αὐτῷ (to Him) δῶρα (gifts), χρυσὸν (gold) καὶ (and) λίβανον (frankincense) καὶ (and) σμύρναν (myrrh).

⁹ καὶ (and) εἶπεν (he says) αὐτῷ (to Him), “Ταῦτά (These things) σοι (to You) πάντα (all) δώσω (will I give), ἐὰν (if) πεσὼν (falling down), προσκυνήσῃς (You will worship) μοι (me).” ¹⁰ Τότε (Then) λέγει (says) αὐτῷ (to him) ὁ (-) Ἰησοῦς (Jesus), “Ὕπαγε (Get you away), Σατανᾶ (Satan); γέγραπται (it has been written) γάρ (for): ‘Κύριον (The Lord) τὸν (the) θεόν (God) σου (of you), προσκυνήσεις (you shall worship), καὶ (and) αὐτῷ (Him) μόνῳ (alone) λατρεύσεις (shall you serve).’”

⁵² καὶ (And) αὐτοὶ (they) προσκυνήσαντες* (having worshiped) αὐτὸν (Him), ὑπέστρεψαν (returned) εἰς (to) Ἰερουσαλὴμ (Jerusalem) μετὰ (with) χαρᾶς (joy) μεγάλης (great),

¹⁰ χάριτι (By the grace) δὲ (however) Θεοῦ (of God), εἰμι (I am) ὅ (what) εἰμι (I am), καὶ (and) ἡ (the) χάρις (grace) αὐτοῦ (of Him) ἡ (-) εἰς (toward) ἐμὲ (me) οὐ (not) κενὴ (void) ἐγενήθη (has been). ἀλλὰ (Rather), περισσότερον (more abundantly) αὐτῶν (than them) πάντων (all) ἐκοπίασα (I toiled), οὐκ (not) ἐγὼ (I) δὲ (however), ἀλλὰ (but) ἡ (the) χάρις (grace) τοῦ (-) Θεοῦ (of God) ‹ἡ› (that was) σὺν (with) ἐμοί (me).

⁴ τίς (Who) οὐ (no) μὴ (not) φοβηθῇ (should fear You), Κύριε (O Lord), καὶ (and) δοξάσει (will glorify) τὸ (the) ὄνομά (name) σου (of You)? ὅτι (For You) μόνος (alone are) ὅσιος (holy). ὅτι (For) πάντα (all) τὰ (the) ἔθνη (nations) ἥξουσιν (will come) καὶ (and) προσκυνήσουσιν (will worship) ἐνώπιόν (before) σου (You), ὅτι (because) τὰ (the) δικαιώματά (righteous acts) σου (of You) ἐφανερώθησαν (have been revealed).”

⁸ Κἀγὼ (And I), Ἰωάννης (John), ὁ (am the one) ἀκούων (hearing) καὶ (and) βλέπων (seeing) ταῦτα (these things). καὶ (And) ὅτε (when) ἤκουσα (I heard) καὶ (and) ἔβλεψα (saw), ἔπεσα (I fell down) προσκυνῆσαι (to worship) ἔμπροσθεν (before) τῶν (the) ποδῶν (feet) τοῦ (of the) ἀγγέλου (angel) τοῦ (-) δεικνύοντός (showing) μοι (me) ταῦτα (these things). ⁹ καὶ (And) λέγει (he says) μοι (to me), “Ὅρα (See that you) μή (not). σύνδουλός (Fellow servant) σού (of you) εἰμι (I am), καὶ (and) τῶν (with the) ἀδελφῶν (brothers) σου (of you) τῶν (the) προφητῶν (prophets), καὶ (and) τῶν (with those) τηρούντων (keeping) τοὺς (the) λόγους (words) τοῦ (of the) βιβλίου (book) τούτου (this). τῷ (-) Θεῷ (God) προσκύνησον (worship)!”

¹ Ἐν (In the) ἀρχῇ (beginning) ἦν (was) ὁ (the) Λόγος (Word), καὶ (and) ὁ (the) Λόγος (Word) ἦν (was) πρὸς (with) τὸν (-) Θεόν (God), καὶ (and) Θεὸς (God) ἦν (was) ὁ (the) Λόγος (Word). ² Οὗτος (He) ἦν (was) ἐν (in the) ἀρχῇ (beginning) πρὸς (with) τὸν (-) Θεόν (God). ³ πάντα (All things) δι’ (through) αὐτοῦ (Him) ἐγένετο (came into being), καὶ (and) χωρὶς (without) αὐτοῦ (Him) ἐγένετο (came into being) οὐδὲ (not even) ἕν (one thing) ὃ (that) γέγονεν (has come into being).

¹⁵ καὶ (and) λέγοντες (saying), “Ἄνδρες (Men), τί (why) ταῦτα (these things) ποιεῖτε (do you)? καὶ (Also) ἡμεῖς (we) ὁμοιοπαθεῖς (of like nature) ἐσμεν (are) ὑμῖν (with you) ἄνθρωποι (men), εὐαγγελιζόμενοι (proclaiming the gospel) ὑμᾶς (to you), ἀπὸ (from) τούτων (these) τῶν (-) ματαίων (vanities) ἐπιστρέφειν (to turn) ἐπὶ (to) θεὸν (God) ζῶντα (the living), ὃς (who) ἐποίησεν (made) τὸν (the) οὐρανὸν (heaven) καὶ (and) τὴν (the) γῆν (earth) καὶ (and) τὴν (the) θάλασσαν (sea) καὶ (and) πάντα (all) τὰ (the things) ἐν (in) αὐτοῖς (them),

²⁴ Ὁ (The) Θεὸς (God) ὁ (-) ποιήσας (having made) τὸν (the) κόσμον (world) καὶ (and) πάντα (all things) τὰ (that are) ἐν (in) αὐτῷ (it), οὗτος (He) οὐρανοῦ (of heaven) καὶ (and) γῆς (earth) ὑπάρχων (being) Κύριος (Lord), οὐκ (not) ἐν (in) χειροποιήτοις (hand-made) ναοῖς (temples) κατοικεῖ (dwells),

³⁶ ὅτι (For) ἐξ (from) αὐτοῦ (Him), καὶ (and) δι’ (through) αὐτοῦ (Him), καὶ (and) εἰς (unto) αὐτὸν (Him) τὰ (-) πάντα (are all things). αὐτῷ (To Him be) ἡ (the) δόξα (glory) εἰς (to) τοὺς (the) αἰῶνας (ages)! ἀμήν (Amen).

¹⁶ ὅτι (because) ἐν (in) αὐτῷ (Him) ἐκτίσθη (were created) τὰ (-) πάντα (all things) ἐν (in) τοῖς (the) οὐρανοῖς (heavens) καὶ (and) ἐπὶ (upon) τῆς (the) γῆς (earth), τὰ (the) ὁρατὰ (visible) καὶ (and) τὰ (the) ἀόρατα (invisible), εἴτε (whether) θρόνοι (thrones) εἴτε (or) κυριότητες (dominions) εἴτε (or) ἀρχαὶ (rulers) εἴτε (or) ἐξουσίαι (authorities); τὰ (-) πάντα (all things) δι’ (through) αὐτοῦ (Him) καὶ (and) εἰς (unto) αὐτὸν (Him) ἔκτισται (have been created). ¹⁷ Καὶ (And) αὐτός (He) ἐστιν (is) πρὸ (before) πάντων (all things), καὶ (and) τὰ (-) πάντα (all things) ἐν (in) αὐτῷ (Him) συνέστηκεν (hold together).

¹² λέγοντες (saying) φωνῇ (in a voice) μεγάλῃ (loud): “Ἄξιόν* (Worthy) ἐστιν (is) τὸ (the) Ἀρνίον (Lamb) τὸ (-) ἐσφαγμένον (having been slain), λαβεῖν (to receive) τὴν (the) δύναμιν (power) καὶ (and) πλοῦτον (riches) καὶ (and) σοφίαν (wisdom) καὶ (and) ἰσχὺν (strength) καὶ (and) τιμὴν (honor) καὶ (and) δόξαν (glory) καὶ (and) εὐλογίαν (blessing)!”

⁷ λέγων (saying) ἐν (in) φωνῇ (a voice) μεγάλῃ (loud), “Φοβήθητε (Fear) τὸν (-) Θεὸν (God), καὶ (and) δότε (give) αὐτῷ (Him) δόξαν (glory), ὅτι (because) ἦλθεν (has come) ἡ (the) ὥρα (hour) τῆς (of the) κρίσεως (judgment) αὐτοῦ (of Him). καὶ (And) προσκυνήσατε (worship) τῷ (the One) ποιήσαντι (having made) τὸν (-) οὐρανὸν (heaven), καὶ (and) τὴν (the) γῆν (earth), καὶ (and) θάλασσαν (sea), καὶ (and) πηγὰς (springs) ὑδάτων (of waters).”
