² For the one speaking in a tongue speaks not to men, but to God. For no one hears, but in the Spirit he utters mysteries.

¹¹ And answering He said to them, “Because it has been granted to you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of the heavens, but to them it has not been granted.

¹¹ And He was saying to them, “To you has been given the mystery of the kingdom of God, but to those who are outside, everything is done in parables,

¹⁷ And these signs will accompany those having believed: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues;

⁴ And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit was giving to them to utter forth. ⁵ Now there were Jews dwelling in Jerusalem, devout men from every nation under heaven. ⁶ Now of this sound having come about, the multitude came together and was confounded, because each one was hearing them speaking the own language. ⁷ And they were amazed and were marveling, saying, “Behold, are not all these who are speaking Galileans? ⁸ And how do we each hear our own language in which we were born? ⁹ Parthians and Medes and Elamites; and those inhabiting Mesopotamia, also Judea and Cappadocia, Pontus and Asia, ¹⁰ both Phrygia and Pamphylia, Egypt and the parts of Libya around Cyrene; and those visiting from Rome, ¹¹ both Jews and converts; Cretans and Arabs—we hear them speaking in our own tongues the great things of God!”

⁴⁶ For they were hearing them speaking in tongues and magnifying God. Then Peter answered,

⁶ And of Paul having laid the hands on them, the Holy Spirit came upon them, and they were speaking in tongues and prophesying.

⁹ And those being with me indeed beheld the light, but they did not hear the voice of the One speaking to me.

²⁵ Now to Him being able to strengthen you according to my gospel and the proclamation of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery having been kept secret in times of the ages,

⁷ But we speak in a mystery, the wisdom of God having been hidden, which God foreordained before the ages for our glory,

¹⁰ For God has revealed it to us through the Spirit. For the Spirit searches all things, even the depths of God.

² And if I should have prophecy and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I should have all faith so as to remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing.

⁹ So also you, unless you give intelligible speech with the tongue, how will it be known what is being spoken? For you will be speaking into the air. ¹⁰ There are, if it may be, so many kinds of languages in the world, and none without meaning. ¹¹ Therefore unless I know the power of the sound, I will be a barbarian to the one speaking, and the one speaking, a barbarian to me.

¹⁶ Otherwise if you bless with the spirit, how will the one filling the place of the uninstructed say the “Amen” at your thanksgiving, since he knows not what you say?

¹⁸ I thank God, speaking in tongues more than all of you. ¹⁹ But in the church, I desire to speak five words with my mind, that also I might instruct others, rather than ten thousand words in a tongue. ²⁰ Brothers, do not be children in the minds. Yet in the evil, be little children; but in the thinking, be full grown. ²¹ In the Law it has been written: “By other tongues, and by other lips, I will speak to this people, and not even thus will they hear Me, says the Lord.” ²² So then, tongues are for a sign, not to those believing, but to the unbelieving; but prophecy is not to the unbelieving, but to the believing. ²³ Therefore if the whole church gathers together in one place and all should speak in tongues, but uninstructed ones or unbelievers come in, will not they say that you are mad?

²⁷ If anyone speaks with a tongue, let it be by two or the most three, and in turn; and let one interpret. ²⁸ But if there is no interpreter, let him be silent in the church, and let him speak to himself and to God.

⁵¹ Behold, I tell to you a mystery: We will not all sleep, but we will all be changed—

³ that He made known to me the mystery by revelation, just as I have written before in brief, ⁴ which, by reading, you are able to understand my insight into the mystery of Christ, ⁵ which was not made known to the sons of men in other generations as now it has been revealed in the Spirit to His holy apostles and prophets, ⁶ that the Gentiles are joint-heirs, and a joint-body, and joint-partakers of the promise in Christ Jesus, through the gospel, ⁷ of which I became servant according to the gift of God’s grace, having been given to me according to the working of His power. ⁸ To me, the very least of all saints, was given this grace: to preach to the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ ⁹ and to enlighten all what is the administration of the mystery having been hidden from the ages in God, the One having created all things,

¹⁹ and also for me, that in the opening of my mouth, divine utterance may be given to me to make known with boldness the mystery of the gospel,

²⁶ the mystery having been hidden from the ages and from the generations, but now having been manifested to His saints, ²⁷ to whom God has willed to make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory,

² that their hearts may be encouraged, having been knit together in love, and to all the riches of the full assurance of understanding, to the knowledge of the mystery of God, which is Christ,

⁹ holding to the mystery of the faith with a clear conscience.

¹⁶ And confessedly, great is the mystery of godliness: Who was revealed in the flesh, was justified in the Spirit, was seen by angels, was proclaimed among the nations, was believed on in the world, was taken up in glory.

⁷ But in the days of the voice of the seventh angel, when he is about to sound the trumpet, then the mystery of God would be completed, as proclaimed to His servants, the prophets.”
