⁵ Likewise, younger ones, be subject to your elders. And all, gird on humility one to another, because, “God opposes the proud, but gives grace to the humble.”

¹⁰ devoted to one another in brotherly love, esteeming one another in honor,

¹⁴ But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the desires of the flesh.

²¹ Be submitting yourselves to one another in reverence of Christ:

³ nothing according to self-interest or according to vain conceit, but in humility be esteeming one another surpassing themselves,

¹² Therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, put on hearts of compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience,

¹⁷ Obey you those leading and be submissive—for they watch over your souls, as about to give account—so that they may do this with joy and not groaning, for this is unprofitable for you.

⁶ But He gives greater grace. Therefore it says: “God opposes the proud, but gives grace to the humble.”

³ whose adorning let not be the external, of braiding of hair and putting around of gold, or putting on of garments, ⁴ but the hidden man of the heart, in the imperishable of the gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth before God.

¹ Therefore Christ having suffered in the flesh, you also arm yourselves with the same mind, because the one having suffered in the flesh is done with sin,

⁵ who will give account to Him who is ready to judge the living and the dead.
