⁹ whom you should resist, firm in the faith, knowing the same sufferings to be accomplished in your brotherhood throughout the world.

³ And the devil said to Him, “If You are the Son of God, speak to this stone, that it should become bread.” ⁴ And Jesus answered to him, “It has been written: ‘Man shall not live on bread alone.’” ⁵ And having led Him up, he showed Him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time. ⁶ And the devil said to Him, “I will give to You all this authority, and its glory; for it has been delivered to me, and I give it to whom I wish. ⁷ Therefore if You will worship before me, all will be Yours.” ⁸ And Jesus answering, said to him, “It has been written: ‘You shall worship the Lord your God, and you shall serve Him only.’” ⁹ And he led Him to Jerusalem and set Him upon the pinnacle of the temple, and said to Him, “If You are the Son of God, cast Yourself down from here. ¹⁰ For it has been written: ‘He will give orders to His angels concerning You, to guard You; ¹¹ and in their hands will they bear You up, lest ever You strike Your foot against a stone.’” ¹² And Jesus answering, said to him, “It has been said, ‘You shall not test the Lord your God.’”

³² But I begged for you, that your faith may not fail. And you, when you have turned back, strengthen your brothers.”

³³ I have spoken these things to you so that in Me you may have peace. In the world you have tribulation. But take courage; I have overcome the world.”

²² strengthening the souls of the disciples, exhorting them to continue in the faith and that “through many tribulations it behooves us to enter into the kingdom of God.”

¹³ No temptation has seized you, except what is common to man. And God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but will also provide with the temptation the escape, to be able to endure it.

²⁷ neither give opportunity to the devil.

¹¹ Put on the complete armor of God, for you to be able to stand against the schemes of the devil, ¹² because to us the wrestling is not against blood and flesh, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. ¹³ Because of this, take up the complete armor of God, so that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all things, to stand.

¹⁶ besides all, having taken up the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the flaming arrows of the evil one.

⁵ Truly indeed, if I am absent in the flesh, yet I am with you in spirit, rejoicing and seeing your good order and the firmness of your faith in Christ.

¹⁵ who having killed both the Lord Jesus and their own prophets, and having driven us out, and not pleasing God, are also set against all men, ¹⁶ forbidding us to speak to the Gentiles that they might be saved, so as always to fill up their sins. Now the wrath has come upon them to the utmost.

³ that no one be moved in these tribulations. For you yourselves know that we are destined for this.

¹² Fight the good fight of the faith. Lay hold of the eternal life to which you were called, and also did confess the good confession before many witnesses.

¹² And all also desiring to live piously in Christ Jesus will be persecuted.

⁷ I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.

³³ who by faith conquered kingdoms, administered justice, obtained promises; shut the mouths of lions,

⁷ Therefore subject yourselves to God. But resist the devil, and he will flee from you.

⁶ in which you greatly rejoice, at present for a little while if it is being necessary, having been put to grief by various trials,

²¹ For to this hereunto you have been called, because Christ also suffered for you, leaving you an example that you should follow after His steps:

¹⁴ But even if you should suffer because of righteousness, you are blessed. “And you should not be afraid of their threats, neither should you be troubled.”

¹³ But as you have shared in the sufferings of Christ, rejoice, so that also in the revelation of His glory you may rejoice, exulting.

⁹ I John, your brother and fellow-partaker in the tribulation and kingdom and perseverance in Jesus, was in the island called Patmos on account of the word of God and the testimony of Jesus.

¹¹ And to each of them were given white robes, and it was said to them that they shall rest yet a little time, until their fellow servants would also be complete, and their brothers, those being about to be killed as they also had been.

¹⁴ And I said to him, “My lord, you know.” And he said to me, “These are the ones coming out of the great tribulation, and they have washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.
