²² But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,

¹⁶ By their fruits you will recognize them. Are grapes gathered from thornbushes, or figs from thistles? ¹⁷ So every good tree bears good fruits, but the rotten tree bears bad fruits. ¹⁸ A good tree is not able to bear bad fruits, nor a bad tree to bear good fruits. ¹⁹ Every tree not bearing good fruit is cut down and is thrown into fire. ²⁰ Then surely by their fruits you will recognize them.

³³ Either make the tree good and its fruit good, or make the tree bad and its fruit bad. For the tree is known by the fruit.

¹⁴ And that having fallen into the thorns, these are those having heard, and moving along are choked under the cares and riches and pleasures of life, and do not mature. ¹⁵ And that in the good soil, these are those who, having heard the word, keep it in a worthy and good heart and bring forth fruit by perseverance.

⁹ and if indeed it should bear fruit in the time, so be it. But if not, you will cut it down.’”

² Every branch not bearing fruit in Me, He takes it away; and every one bearing fruit, He prunes it that it may bear more fruit.

⁵ I am the vine; you are the branches. The one abiding in Me and I in him, he bears much fruit. For apart from Me you are able to do nothing.

¹⁶ You did not chose Me, but I chose you and appointed you, that you should go and you should bear fruit, and your fruit should remain, so that whatever you might ask the Father in My name, He may give you.

¹ Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, ² through whom also we have access by faith into this grace in which we stand; and we boast in the hope of the glory of God. ³ And not only so, but also we glory in our tribulations, knowing that tribulation produces perseverance; ⁴ and perseverance, character; and character, hope. ⁵ And hope does not make us ashamed, because the love of God has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, the One having been given to us.

²² But now, having been set free from sin, and having become slaves to God, you have your fruit unto sanctification, and the end is eternal life.

⁴ Likewise, my brothers, you also have been put to death to the Law through the body of Christ, for you to belong to another, to the One having been raised out from the dead, so that we should bear fruit to God.

⁹ Let love be unfeigned: abhorring evil, cleaving to good, ¹⁰ devoted to one another in brotherly love, esteeming one another in honor, ¹¹ not lagging in diligence, being fervent in spirit, serving the Lord, ¹² rejoicing in hope, being patient in tribulation, being constant in prayer, ¹³ contributing to the needs of the saints, pursuing hospitality. ¹⁴ Bless those persecuting you. Bless and do not curse; ¹⁵ to rejoice with the rejoicing, to weep with the weeping; ¹⁶ minding the same thing toward one another, not minding the things haughty, but going along with the lowly. Do not be wise in yourselves, ¹⁷ repaying to no one evil for evil, providing right before all men; ¹⁸ if possible of you, living at peace with all men;

³ For even Christ did not please Himself, but as it has been written: “The reproaches of those reproaching You have fallen on Me.”

¹⁴ And I myself also am persuaded concerning you my brothers, that you yourselves are also full of goodness, being filled with all knowledge, and being able to admonish one another.

⁴ Love is patient, love is kind, love is not envious, it is not boastful, it is not puffed up. ⁵ It does not act unbecomingly, it does not seek the things of its own, it is not easily provoked, it keeps no account of wrongs. ⁶ It does not delight at unrighteousness, but rejoices in the truth. ⁷ It bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.

¹³ But now these three things abide: faith, hope, love; but the greatest of these is love.

¹³ For you brothers were called to freedom, but not the freedom for an opportunity to the flesh. Rather, serve one another through love.

¹⁶ Now I say, walk by the Spirit, and you should not gratify the desires of the flesh. ¹⁷ For the flesh desires against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh. For these are opposed to one another in order that you should not do those things you might wish. ¹⁸ But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the Law.

²³ and to be renewed in the spirit of your mind,

⁹ for the fruit of the light is in all goodness and righteousness and truth—

¹¹ being filled with the fruit of righteousness that is through Jesus Christ, to the glory and praise of God.

⁴ Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice! ⁵ Let your gentleness be known to all men. The Lord is near. ⁶ Be anxious about nothing, but in everything, by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. ⁷ And the peace of God, surpassing all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. ⁸ Finally brothers, whatever is true, whatever is venerable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if any excellence and if any praise—think on these things. ⁹ And what you have learned and have received and have heard and have seen in me, practice these things. And the God of peace will be with you.

¹⁰ to walk worthily of the Lord: pleasing in all, bringing forth fruit in every good work, and growing in the knowledge of God,

¹² Therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, put on hearts of compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience, ¹³ bearing with each other and forgiving each other. If anyone should have a complaint against another, even as also the Lord has forgiven you, so also you. ¹⁴ And beyond all these, put on love, which is the bond of perfect unity. ¹⁵ And let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which also you were called in one body. And be thankful. ¹⁶ Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing each other in all wisdom, singing psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs with grace in your hearts to God. ¹⁷ And all, whatever you might do in word or in deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.

³ remembering before our God and Father your work of faith and unceasing labor of love, and the endurance of the hope of our Lord Jesus Christ, ⁴ knowing, brothers beloved by God, your election, ⁵ because our gospel came to you not in word only, but also in power and in the Holy Spirit, and with much full assurance, just as you know what we were among you on account of you. ⁶ And you became imitators of us and of the Lord, having received the word in much tribulation, with the joy of the Holy Spirit, ⁷ so as for you to became an example to all the believing ones in Macedonia and in Achaia. ⁸ For not only has the word of the Lord sounded forth from you in Macedonia and in Achaia, but in every place your faith toward God has gone abroad, so as for us to have no need to say anything. ⁹ For they themselves report concerning us what reception we had from you, and how you turned to God from idols, to serve the living and true God, ¹⁰ and to await His Son from the heavens, whom He raised out from the dead—Jesus, the one delivering us from the coming wrath.

¹⁰ the One having died for us, so that whether we might watch or we might sleep, we may live together with Him. ¹¹ Therefore encourage one another and build up one another, just as also you are doing. ¹² But we implore you, brothers, to appreciate those toiling among you, and taking the lead over you in the Lord, and admonishing you, ¹³ and to esteem them exceedingly in love, because of their work. Be at peace among yourselves. ¹⁴ And we exhort you, brothers, to admonish the unruly, encourage the fainthearted, help the weak, be patient toward all. ¹⁵ See that no one has repaid to anyone evil for evil, but always pursue the good also toward one another and toward all. ¹⁶ Rejoice always. ¹⁷ Pray unceasingly. ¹⁸ Give thanks in everything, for this is the will of God toward you in Christ Jesus. ¹⁹ Do not quench the Spirit. ²⁰ Do not despise prophecies, ²¹ but test all things. Hold fast to the good. ²² Abstain from every form of evil.

² and that we may be delivered from perverse and evil men; for not all are of the faith.

¹¹ Women likewise must be dignified, not slanderers, clear-minded, faithful in all things.

¹² Let no one despise your youth, but be a pattern for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith, in purity.

² The aged men are to be sober-minded, dignified, self-controlled, sound in faith, in love, in endurance; ³ the aged women likewise reverent in behavior, not slanderers, not being enslaved to much wine, teachers of what is good, ⁴ so that they may train the young women to be lovers of their husbands, loving their children, ⁵ self-controlled, pure, keepers at home, kind, being subject to the own husbands, so that the word of God should not be maligned. ⁶ Likewise, exhort the younger men to be self-controlled. ⁷ In all things be holding forth yourself as a pattern of good works, in the teaching, integrity, dignity, ⁸ and sound speech beyond reproach, so that he who is of the contrary may be ashamed, having nothing evil to say concerning us. ⁹ Servants are to be subject to their own masters in everything, to be well-pleasing, not gainsaying, ¹⁰ not pilfering, but showing all good fidelity, so that they may adorn the doctrine of God our Savior in all things. ¹¹ For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation to all men, ¹² instructing us that, having denied ungodliness and worldly passions, we should live discreetly and righteously and piously in the present age,

¹⁷ But the wisdom from above is indeed first pure, then peaceable, gentle, reasonable, full of mercy and of good fruits, impartial, sincere. ¹⁸ And the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace by those making peace.

⁸ whom not having seen you love, on whom now believing though not seeing you also exult with joy inexpressible and filled with glory,

²² Having purified your souls in obedience to the truth unto sincere brotherly love, love one another fervently, out of a pure heart,

¹² Through Silvanus, the faithful brother as I regard him, I have written to you through few words, exhorting and testifying this to be the true grace of God, in which you stand.

⁵ Now also for this very reason, having brought in all earnestness, supplement into your faith virtue, and into virtue knowledge, ⁶ and into knowledge self-control, and into self-control endurance, and into endurance godliness, ⁷ and into godliness brotherly affection, and into brotherly affection love. ⁸ For these things being in you and abounding, make you neither idle nor unfruitful as to the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.

⁷ Beloved, we should love one another, because love is from God; and everyone loving has been born from God and knows God. ⁸ The one not loving has not known God, because God is love. ⁹ In this the love of God has been revealed among us, that God has sent His only begotten Son into the world, so that we might live through Him. ¹⁰ In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us, and sent His Son as a propitiation for our sins. ¹¹ Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. ¹² No one has seen God at any time; if we should love one another, God abides in us, and His love is having been perfected in us. ¹³ By this we know that we abide in Him and He in us: because He has given to us from out of His Spirit. ¹⁴ And we have seen and testify that the Father has sent the Son as Savior of the world. ¹⁵ Whoever shall confess that Jesus is the Son of God, God abides in him, and he in God. ¹⁶ And we have come to know and have come to believe the love that God has as to us. God is love, and the one abiding in love abides in God, and God abides in him.
