¹ And from there having risen up, He comes into the region of Judea, and beyond the Jordan. And again crowds come together to Him, and again, as He had been accustomed, He was teaching them. ² And the Pharisees, having approached, were demanding of Him if it is lawful for a husband to divorce a wife, testing Him. ³ And He answering said to them, “What did Moses command you?” ⁴ And they said, “Moses permitted to write a roll of divorce, and to send her away.” ⁵ But Jesus said to them, “He wrote this commandment for you because of your hardness of heart; ⁶ but from the beginning of creation, ‘He made them male and female.’ ⁷ ‘On account of this, a man will leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, ⁸ and the two will be for one flesh.’ Therefore they are no longer two, but one flesh. ⁹ Therefore what God has joined together, let man not separate.” ¹⁰ And in the house again, the disciples were asking Him concerning this. ¹¹ And He says to them, “Whoever shall divorce his wife, and shall marry another, commits adultery against her. ¹² And if a woman, having divorced her husband, should marry another, she commits adultery.” ¹³ And they were bringing little children to Him, that He might touch them. But the disciples rebuked them. ¹⁴ And having seen, Jesus was indignant and said to them, “Permit the little children to come to Me; do not hinder them! For to such belongs the kingdom of God. ¹⁵ Truly I say to you, whoever shall not receive the kingdom of God as a child shall never enter into it.” ¹⁶ And having taken them in arms, He was blessing them, having laid the hands on them. ¹⁷ And going forth on His journey, one having run up and having knelt down to Him, was asking Him, “Good Teacher, what shall I do that I might inherit eternal life?” ¹⁸ And Jesus said to him, “Why do you call Me good? No one is good, except God alone. ¹⁹ You know the commandments: ‘You shall not murder, you shall not commit adultery, you shall not steal, you shall not bear false witness, you shall not defraud, you shall honor your father and mother.’” ²⁰ And he was saying to Him, “Teacher, all these I have kept from my youth.” ²¹ And Jesus, having looked upon him, loved him and said to him, “One thing to you is lacking: Go, sell as much as you have, and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow Me.” ²² And having been sad at the word, he went away grieving; for he was one having many possessions. ²³ And Jesus having looked around, says to His disciples, “How difficultly those having riches will enter into the kingdom of God!” ²⁴ And the disciples were astonished at His words. But Jesus answering says to them again, “Children, how difficult it is to enter into the kingdom of God! ²⁵ It is easier for a camel to pass through the eye of the needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.” ²⁶ And they were exceedingly astonished, saying among themselves, “Then who is able to be saved?” ²⁷ Having looked on them, Jesus says, “With men it is impossible, but not with God; for all things are possible with God.” ²⁸ Peter began to say to Him, “Behold, we have left all and followed You.” ²⁹ Jesus was saying, “Truly I say to you, there is no one who has left house, or brothers, or sisters, or mother, or father, or children, or lands for My sake and because of the gospel, ³⁰ who shall not receive a hundredfold now in this time—houses and brothers and sisters and mothers and children and lands, with persecutions—and in the age which is coming, eternal life. ³¹ But many first will be last; and the last, first.” ³² And they were on the way, going up to Jerusalem, and Jesus was going on before them. And they were astonished, and those following were afraid. And having taken to Him the Twelve again, He began to tell them the things being about to happen to Him: ³³ “Behold, we go up to Jerusalem, and the Son of Man will be betrayed to the chief priests and to the scribes, and they will condemn Him to death, and will betray Him to the Gentiles. ³⁴ And they will mock Him, and will spit upon Him, and will flog and will kill Him, and on the third day He will rise again.” ³⁵ And James and John, the sons of Zebedee, come up to Him saying to Him, “Teacher, we desire that You would do for us whatever we might ask you.” ³⁶ And He said to them, “What do you desire Me to do for you?” ³⁷ And they said to Him, “Grant to us that we might sit, one of us at Your right hand and one at Your left hand, in Your glory.” ³⁸ And Jesus said to them, “You do not know what you ask. Are you able to drink the cup that I drink, and to be baptized with the baptism with which I am baptized?” ³⁹ And they said to Him, “We are able.” And Jesus said to them, “You will drink the cup that I drink, and you will be baptized with the baptism with which I am baptized, ⁴⁰ but to sit at My right hand or at My left hand, is not Mine to give, but to those for whom it has been prepared.” ⁴¹ And having heard this, the ten began to be indignant about James and John. ⁴² And Jesus having called them near, says to them, “You know that those being accounted to rule over the Gentiles exercise lordship over them, and their great ones exercise authority over them. ⁴³ But it shall not be thus among you. Instead, whoever desires to become great among you will be your servant, ⁴⁴ and whoever desires to become first among you will be slave of all. ⁴⁵ For even the Son of Man came not to be served, but to serve, and to give His life as a ransom for many.” ⁴⁶ And they come to Jericho. And as He was going out from Jericho—and His disciples, and a large crowd—a blind beggar, Bartimaeus, son of Timaeus, was sitting beside the road. ⁴⁷ And having heard that it is Jesus of Nazareth, he began to cry out and to say, “Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me.” ⁴⁸ And many were rebuking him, that he should be silent; but he kept crying out much more, “Son of David, have mercy on me.” ⁴⁹ And Jesus, having stopped, commanded him to be called. And they call the blind man, saying to him, “Take courage! Rise up! He calls you.” ⁵⁰ And having cast away his cloak, having risen up, he came to Jesus. ⁵¹ And Jesus answering him says, “What do you desire I should do to you?” And the blind man said to Him, “Rabboni, that I may receive sight.” ⁵² And Jesus said to him, “Go, your faith has healed you.” And immediately he received sight and began following Him on the way.

²³ And He was going throughout all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, and proclaiming the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every disease and every sickness among the people.

¹ And it came to pass, when Jesus had finished these words, He withdrew from Galilee and came to the region of Judea, beyond the Jordan. ² And great crowds followed Him, and He healed them there. ³ And Pharisees came to Him, testing Him and saying, “Is it lawful for a man to divorce his wife for every cause?” ⁴ And answering He said, “Have you not read that the One having created from the beginning ‘made them male and female,’ ⁵ and said, ‘On account of this a man will leave the father and mother and be joined with his wife, and the two will become into one flesh’?— ⁶ so that they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore what God united together, let man not separate.” ⁷ They say to Him, “Why then did Moses command to give a roll of divorce and to send her away?” ⁸ He says to them, “In view of your hardness of heart, Moses allowed you to divorce your wives; but it was not this way from the beginning. ⁹ And I say to you that whoever shall divorce his wife except for sexual immorality, and shall marry another, commits adultery.” ¹⁰ His disciples say to Him, “If this is the case of the man with the wife, it is better not to marry.” ¹¹ And He said to them, “Not all receive this word, but only those to whom it has been given. ¹² For there are eunuchs who were born thus from their mother’s womb, and there are eunuchs who were made eunuchs by men, and there are eunuchs who made themselves eunuchs for the sake of the kingdom of the heavens. The one being able to receive it, let him receive it.”

¹³ And He went forth again beside the sea, and all the crowd was coming to Him, and He taught them.

² And He began teaching them many things in parables, and in His teaching He was saying to them,

⁶ And He was amazed because of their unbelief. And He was going around the villages, teaching.

³⁴ And having gone out, He saw a great crowd and was moved with compassion toward them, because they were like sheep not having a shepherd. And He began to teach them many things.

⁴⁰ And He departed again beyond the Jordan, to the place where John was baptizing at first. And He stayed there.

⁷ Then after this, He says to the disciples, “Let us go into Judea again.”

²⁰ Jesus answered him, “I have spoken openly to the world. I always taught in the synagogue and in the temple, where the Jews always come together; and I spoke nothing in secret.

³¹ It was also said, ‘Whoever shall divorce his wife, let him give her a letter of divorce.’ ³² But I say to you that everyone divorcing his wife, except on account of sexual immorality, causes her to commit adultery. And whoever shall marry her who has been divorced commits adultery.

³⁴ But the Pharisees were saying, “By the prince of the demons He casts out demons.”

¹² Then the disciples having approached, said to Him, “Do You know that the Pharisees, having heard this saying, were offended?”

¹ And the Pharisees and Sadducees having approached testing Him, asked Him to show them a sign out of heaven.

³ And Pharisees came to Him, testing Him and saying, “Is it lawful for a man to divorce his wife for every cause?”

³⁵ And one of them, a lawyer, questioned Him, testing Him,

¹³ But woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you shut up the kingdom of the heavens before men. For you neither enter, nor even do you allow those who are entering to go in.

¹¹ And the Pharisees went out and began to dispute with Him, seeking from Him a sign from heaven, testing Him.

¹⁵ And He was instructing them, saying, “Watch out! Take heed of the leaven of the Pharisees and the leaven of Herod.”

³⁰ And the Pharisees and their scribes were grumbling at His disciples, saying, “Why do you eat and drink with the tax collectors and sinners?”

⁷ And the scribes and the Pharisees were closely watching Him, whether He will heal on the Sabbath, that they might find reason to accuse Him.

³⁰ But the Pharisees and the lawyers rejected the counsel of God as to themselves, not having been baptized by him.

³⁹ And the Lord said to him, “Now you Pharisees, you cleanse the outside of the cup and of the dish, but your inside is full of plundering and wickedness.

⁵³ Of Him having gone forth from there, the scribes and the Pharisees began urgently to press upon Him and to make Him speak about many things, ⁵⁴ watching to catch Him in something out of his mouth.

¹⁴ Now the Pharisees, being lovers of money, were listening to all these things, and they were ridiculing Him.

³² The Pharisees heard the crowd murmuring these things about Him, and the chief priests and the Pharisees sent officers, that they might seize Him.

⁴⁸ Has any of the rulers or of the Pharisees believed on Him?

⁶ Now they were saying this testing Him, so that they might have grounds to accuse Him. But Jesus, having stooped down, began writing with His finger on the ground.

⁴⁷ Therefore the chief priests and the Pharisees gathered a council and were saying, “What are we to do? For this man does many signs.

⁵⁷ Now the chief priests and the Pharisees had given a command that if anyone should know where He is, he should show it, so that they might seize Him.

¹⁰ Now to those having married I give this charge (not I, but the Lord): A wife is not to be separated from a husband. ¹¹ But if indeed she is separated, let her remain unmarried, or be reconciled to the husband; and a husband is not to send away a wife.

⁹ Neither should we test the Christ, as some of them tested, and were destroyed by serpents.

²⁵ And behold, a certain lawyer stood up, testing Him, saying, “Teacher, what having done, will I inherit eternal life?”

³⁹ You diligently search the Scriptures because you think to have eternal life in them, and these are they bearing witness concerning Me;

²¹ Tell me, those wishing to be under the Law, do you do not listen to the Law?

¹⁹ Then Joseph her husband, being righteous and not willing to shame her publicly, resolved to divorce her quietly.

⁷ They say to Him, “Why then did Moses command to give a roll of divorce and to send her away?” ⁸ He says to them, “In view of your hardness of heart, Moses allowed you to divorce your wives; but it was not this way from the beginning.

⁵¹ You stiff-necked and uncircumcised in heart and ears always resist the Holy Spirit; as your fathers did, also do you.

⁷ Therefore, just as the Holy Spirit says: “Today if you should hear His voice, ⁸ do not harden your hearts, as in the rebellion, in the day of testing in the wilderness, ⁹ where forty years your fathers tried Me by testing and saw My works. ¹⁰ Therefore I was angry with that generation, and I said, ‘Always they go astray in their heart; and they have not known My ways;’

¹⁹ for in those days will be tribulation, the like such as never has been from the beginning of creation which God created until now—and never shall be.

⁴ and saying, “Where is the promise of His coming? For from the time that the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of creation.”

⁵ and said, ‘On account of this a man will leave the father and mother and be joined with his wife, and the two will become into one flesh’?— ⁶ so that they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore what God united together, let man not separate.”

³¹ “Because of this, a man will leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two will be into one flesh.”

¹⁶ Or do you not know that the one being joined to the prostitute is one body? For it says, “The two will become into one flesh.”

²⁸ So also husbands ought to love their wives as their own bodies. The one loving his wife loves himself.

¹ Or are you ignorant brothers (for I speak to those knowing the law), that the law rules over the man for as long as the time he is alive? ² For the married woman is bound by law to the living husband; but if the husband should die, she is cleared from the law of the husband. ³ So then, if she is to another man, the husband being alive, she will be called an adulteress; but if the husband should die, she is free from the law, so as for her not to be an adulteress, having been to another man.

¹⁰ And when He was alone, those around Him with the Twelve began asking Him about the parable.

²⁸ And He having entered into the house, His disciples were asking Him in private, “Why were we not able to cast it out?”

³³ And they came to Capernaum. And having been in the house, He was asking them, “What were you discussing on the way?”

⁹ And I say to you that whoever shall divorce his wife except for sexual immorality, and shall marry another, commits adultery.”

¹⁸ Everyone putting away his wife and marrying another commits adultery. And the one marrying her put away from a husband commits adultery.

³ So then, if she is to another man, the husband being alive, she will be called an adulteress; but if the husband should die, she is free from the law, so as for her not to be an adulteress, having been to another man. ⁴ The wife does not have authority over the own body, but the husband; and likewise also, the husband does not have authority over the own body, but the wife.

⁴ Let marriage be honorable in all, and the marriage bed undefiled; for God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterers.

¹¹ But if indeed she is separated, let her remain unmarried, or be reconciled to the husband; and a husband is not to send away a wife.

¹³ And if any woman has an unbelieving husband, and he consents to dwell with her, let her not divorce the husband.

¹³ Then little children were brought to Him, that He might lay the hands on them, and might pray. But the disciples rebuked them. ¹⁴ But Jesus said, “Permit the little children, and do not forbid them to come to Me, for of such is the kingdom of the heavens.” ¹⁵ And having laid the hands upon them, He departed from there.

³⁸ John answered Him, “Teacher, we saw someone who does not follow us casting out demons in Your name, and we were forbidding him, because he was not following us.”

⁴⁸ And many were rebuking him, that he should be silent; but he kept crying out much more, “Son of David, have mercy on me.”

¹⁵ And they were bringing the infants also to Him, that He might touch them; but the disciples having seen, were rebuking them. ¹⁶ But Jesus, having called them to Him, said, “Permit the little children to come to Me, and do not forbid them; for of the such is the kingdom of God. ¹⁷ Truly I say to you, whoever shall not receive the kingdom of God as a child, shall not at all enter into it.”

⁴ Therefore whoever will humble himself as this little child, he is the greatest in the kingdom of the heavens.

¹⁰ See that you do not despise one of these little ones. For I say to you that their angels in the heavens continually behold the face of my Father, who is in the heavens.

¹⁴ But Jesus said, “Permit the little children, and do not forbid them to come to Me, for of such is the kingdom of the heavens.”

⁵ And having looked around on them with anger, being grieved at the hardness of their heart, He says to the man, “Stretch out your hand.” And he stretched it out, and his hand was restored.

³³ And having turned and having looked upon His disciples, He rebuked Peter, and said, “Get behind Me, Satan, for your thoughts are not of the things of God, but the things of men.”

⁵⁴ And the disciples James and John having seen it, said, “Lord, will You that we should call fire to come down from heaven and to consume them?” ⁵⁵ And having turned, He rebuked them, ⁵⁶ and they went to another village.

¹⁵ And they were bringing the infants also to Him, that He might touch them; but the disciples having seen, were rebuking them. ¹⁶ But Jesus, having called them to Him, said, “Permit the little children to come to Me, and do not forbid them; for of the such is the kingdom of God.

³⁹ For the promise is to you and to your children and to all those at a distance, as many as the Lord our God shall call to Himself.”

²⁵ You are the sons of the prophets and of the covenant that God made with your fathers, saying to Abraham, ‘And in your seed all the families of the earth will be blessed.’

¹⁶ Now if the firstfruit is holy, also the lump; and if the root is holy, also the branches.

²⁸ For as regards the gospel, they are enemies on account of you; but as regards election, beloved on account of the patriarchs.

¹⁴ For the unbelieving husband is sanctified in the wife, and the unbelieving wife is sanctified in the husband. Otherwise, your children are unclean; but now they are holy.

²⁰ Brothers, do not be children in the minds. Yet in the evil, be little children; but in the thinking, be full grown.

²⁶ “Be angry, and yet do not sin.” Let not the sun set upon your anger,

⁵ having taken remembrance of the sincere faith within you, which dwelt first in your grandmother Lois and in your mother Eunice, and I am persuaded that it is in you also.

¹⁵ and that from childhood you have known the sacred writings, being able to make you wise unto salvation through faith in Christ Jesus.

² like newborn babies, crave pure reasonable milk, so that by it you may grow up in respect to salvation,

⁵ And in their mouth no lie was not found; they are blameless.

³ and said, “Truly I say to you, if you are not converted and become as the little children, you shall never enter into the kingdom of the heavens.

¹⁷ Truly I say to you, whoever shall not receive the kingdom of God as a child, shall not at all enter into it.”

³ Jesus answered and said to him, “Truly, truly, I say to you, except anyone be born from above, he is not able to see the kingdom of God.” ⁴ Nicodemus says to Him, “How is a man able to be born, being old? Is he able to enter into the womb of his mother a second time, and to be born?” ⁵ Jesus answered, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless anyone be born of water and of the Spirit, he is not able to enter into the kingdom of God. ⁶ That having been born of the flesh is flesh, and that having been born of the Spirit is spirit.

³⁶ And having taken a child, He set it in the midst of them; and having taken it in His arms, He said to them,

²⁸ then he received Him into the arms, and blessed God, and said: ²⁹ “Now Lord, You dismiss Your servant in peace, according to Your word. ³⁰ For my eyes have seen Your salvation, ³¹ which You have prepared before the face of all the peoples, ³² a light for revelation of the Gentiles, and glory of Your people Israel.” ³³ And His father and mother were marveling at the things having been spoken concerning Him. ³⁴ And Simeon blessed them and said to His mother Mary: “Behold, this Child is appointed for the falling and rising up of many in Israel, and for a sign spoken against—

⁵⁰ And He led them out as far as to Bethany, and having lifted up His hands, He blessed them. ⁵¹ And it came to pass in His blessing them, He was separated from them and was carried up into heaven.

¹⁵ Therefore when they had dined, Jesus says to Simon Peter, “Simon son of John, do you love Me more than these?” He says to Him, “Yes, Lord; You know that I dearly love You.” He says to him, “Feed My lambs.” ¹⁶ He says to him again a second time, “Simon son of John, do you love Me?” He says to Him, “Yes, Lord; You know that I dearly love You.” He says to him, “Shepherd My sheep.” ¹⁷ He says to him the third time, “Simon son of John, do you dearly love Me?” Peter was grieved because He said to him the third time, “Do you dearly love Me?” And he said to Him, “Lord, You know all things; You know that I dearly love You.” Jesus says to him, “Feed My sheep.

¹⁴ And they having come to the crowd, a man came to Him kneeling down to Him

¹⁶ And behold, one having come to Him said, “Teacher, what good thing shall I do that I might have eternal life?” ¹⁷ And He said to him, “Why do you ask Me about what is good? Only One is good. But if you desire to enter into life, keep the commandments.” ¹⁸ He says to Him, “Which?” And Jesus said, “‘You shall not murder, you shall not commit adultery, you shall not steal, you shall not bear false witness, ¹⁹ you shall honor the father and mother, and you shall love your neighbor as yourself.’” ²⁰ The young man says to him, “All these things I have kept. What do I still lack?” ²¹ Jesus was saying to him, “If you desire to be perfect, go, sell what you are possessing, and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in the heavens; and come, follow Me.” ²² And having heard this statement, the young man went away grieving; for he was one having many possessions. ²³ And Jesus said His to disciples, “Truly I say to you that with difficulty a rich man will enter into the kingdom of the heavens. ²⁴ And again I say to you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.” ²⁵ And the disciples having heard were exceedingly astonished, saying, “Who then is able to be saved?” ²⁶ And Jesus having looked on them, said to them, “With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.” ²⁷ Then Peter answering said to Him, “Behold, we left all things and followed You; what then will be to us?” ²⁸ And Jesus said to them, “Truly I say to you that in the regeneration, when the Son of Man shall sit down upon His throne of glory, you having followed Me, you also will sit on twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel. ²⁹ And everyone who has left houses, or brothers, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for the sake of My name, will receive a hundredfold, and will inherit eternal life. ³⁰ But many who are first will be last, and the last first.

³⁴ Then the King will say to those on His right hand, ‘Come, those being blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom having been prepared for you from the foundation of the world.

⁸ And having gone out quickly from the tomb with fear and great joy, they ran to tell His disciples.

⁴⁰ And a leper comes to Him, imploring Him and kneeling down to Him, and saying to Him, “If You are willing, You are able to cleanse me.”

²⁵ And Jesus, having seen that a crowd was running together, rebuked the unclean spirit, saying to it, “Mute and deaf spirit, I command you, come out of him, and you may enter into him no more.”

¹⁴ And having come, they say to Him, “Teacher, we know that You are true, and to You there is no care about any one; for You do not look on the appearance of men, but teach the way of God on the basis of the truth. Is it lawful to give tribute to Caesar or not? Should we pay or not pay?”

¹⁸ And a certain ruler asked Him, saying, “Good Teacher, having done what, will I inherit eternal life?” ¹⁹ And Jesus said to him, “Why do you call Me good? No one is good, except God alone. ²⁰ You know the commandments: ‘You shall not commit adultery, you shall not murder, you shall not steal, you shall not bear false witness, you shall honor your father and mother.’” ²¹ And he said, “All these have I kept from my youth.” ²² And having heard, Jesus said to him, “To you, yet one thing is lacking: Sell all, as much as you have, and distribute to the poor, and you will have treasure in the heavens; and come, follow Me.” ²³ And having heard these things, he became very sorrowful; for he was extremely rich. ²⁴ And having seen him, Jesus became sorrowful, saying, “How difficultly those having riches shall enter into the kingdom of God. ²⁵ For it is easier for a camel to go through an eye of a needle, than a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.” ²⁶ And those having heard said, “Then who is able to be saved?” ²⁷ But He said, “The things impossible with men are possible with God.” ²⁸ And Peter said, “Behold, we having left the own, followed You.” ²⁹ And He said to them, “Truly I say to you that there is no one who has left house or wife or brothers or parents or children for the sake of the kingdom of God, ³⁰ who shall not receive manifold more in this time—and in the age that is coming, eternal life.”

² He came to Him by night and said to Him, “Rabbi, we know that You have come from God as a teacher, for no one is able to do these signs that You do, unless God should be with him.”

²⁷ Do not work for the food that is perishing, but for the food enduring unto eternal life, which the Son of Man will give to you; for God the Father has sealed Him.” ²⁸ Therefore they said to Him, “What must we do, that we may be doing the works of God?”

⁴⁰ For this is the will of My Father, that everyone beholding the Son and believing in Him should have eternal life, and I will raise him up in the last day.”

² So she runs and comes to Simon Peter and to the other disciple, whom Jesus loved, and she says to them, “They have taken away the Lord out of the tomb, and we do not know where they have laid Him.” ³ Therefore Peter and the other disciple went forth and were coming to the tomb. ⁴ Now the two were running together, and the other disciple ran ahead faster than Peter and came to the tomb first.

³⁷ And having heard, they were pierced to the heart and said to Peter and the other apostles, “Men, brothers, what shall we do?”

⁶ But rise up and enter into the city, and it will be told you that which it behooves you to do.”

³⁰ And having brought them out, he was saying, “Sirs, what is necessary of me to do, that I may be saved?”

³² And now I commit you to God and to the word of His grace, being able to build you up and to give you an inheritance among all those having been sanctified.

⁷ to those who indeed with endurance in good work are seeking glory and honor and immortality, eternal life;

²³ For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

² For I bear witness about them that they have zeal for God, but not according to knowledge. ³ For being ignorant of the righteousness of God and seeking to establish the own righteousness, they did not submit to the righteousness of God. ⁴ For the end of Law is Christ, unto righteousness to everyone believing.

²⁵ And this is the promise that He promised us: eternal life.

¹⁷ And He said to him, “Why do you ask Me about what is good? Only One is good. But if you desire to enter into life, keep the commandments.”

¹⁹ And Jesus said to him, “Why do you call Me good? No one is good, except God alone.

⁴¹ I do not take glory from men, ⁴² but I have known you, that you do not have the love of God in yourselves. ⁴³ I have come in My Father’s name, and you do not receive Me; if another should come in the own name, you will receive him. ⁴⁴ How are you able to believe, receiving glory from one another, and you do not seek the glory that is from the only God?

¹² All have turned away; together they have become worthless; there is none who is practicing good, there is not so much as one.

¹⁷ Every good act of giving and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of shifting.

⁸ The one not loving has not known God, because God is love.

¹⁶ And we have come to know and have come to believe the love that God has as to us. God is love, and the one abiding in love abides in God, and God abides in him.

¹⁷ Do not think that I have come to abolish the law or the Prophets. I have not come to abolish, but to fulfill. ¹⁸ For truly I say to you, until heaven and earth shall pass away, not even one iota, nor one stroke of a letter, shall pass away from the law, until everything should happen. ¹⁹ Whoever then shall break one of the least of these commandments and shall teach others the same, he will be called least in the kingdom of the heavens; but whoever shall keep and shall teach them, he will be called great in the kingdom of the heavens. ²⁰ For I say to you that unless your righteousness shall abound above that of the scribes and Pharisees, you shall never enter into the kingdom of the heavens.

¹⁷ And He said to him, “Why do you ask Me about what is good? Only One is good. But if you desire to enter into life, keep the commandments.” ¹⁸ He says to Him, “Which?” And Jesus said, “‘You shall not murder, you shall not commit adultery, you shall not steal, you shall not bear false witness, ¹⁹ you shall honor the father and mother, and you shall love your neighbor as yourself.’”

²⁸ And one of the scribes having come up, having heard them reasoning together, having seen that He answered them well, questioned Him, “Which commandment is the first of all?” ²⁹ Jesus answered, “The foremost is, ‘Hear this O Israel: The Lord our God is One Lord, ³⁰ and you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind, and with all your strength.’ ³¹ The second is this: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is not another commandment greater than these.” ³² And the scribe said to Him, “Right, Teacher. You have spoken according to truth that He is One, and there is not another besides Him, ³³ and to love Him with all the heart and with all the understanding and with all the strength, and to love the neighbor as oneself is more important than all the burnt offerings and sacrifices.” ³⁴ And Jesus, having seen him that he answered wisely, said to him, “You are not far from the kingdom of God.” And no one dared to question Him any longer.

²⁶ And He said to him, “What has been written in the Law? How do you read it?” ²⁷ And answering, he said, “‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your strength, and with all your mind’ and ‘Your neighbor as yourself.’” ²⁸ And He said to him, “You have answered correctly. Do this and you will live.”

²⁰ You know the commandments: ‘You shall not commit adultery, you shall not murder, you shall not steal, you shall not bear false witness, you shall honor your father and mother.’”

²⁰ Therefore by works of the Law, not any flesh will be justified before Him; for through the Law is knowledge of sin.

⁹ For, “You shall not commit adultery,” “You shall not murder,” “You shall not steal,” “You shall not covet,” and if there is any other commandment, it is summed up in this word, in, “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.”

⁷ Therefore indeed it is already altogether a defeat for you that you have lawsuits among one another. Why not rather suffer wrong? Why not rather be defrauded? ⁸ But you do wrong and defraud, and these things to brothers! ⁹ Or do you not know that the unrighteous ones will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor homosexuals,

¹⁴ For the entire Law is fulfilled in in this one word: “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.”

⁶ not to go beyond and to overreach his brother in the matter, because the Lord is avenging concerning all these things, just as also we told you before and thoroughly warned.

¹¹ For the One having said, “You shall not commit adultery,” also said, “You shall not murder.” But if you do not commit adultery, but do commit murder, you have become a transgressor of the Law.

²⁰ The young man says to him, “All these things I have kept. What do I still lack?”

²⁹ But desiring to justify himself, he said to Jesus, “And who is my neighbor?”

¹¹ The Pharisee having stood, was praying toward himself thus: ‘God, I thank You that I am not like the rest of the men—swindlers, unrighteous, adulterers—or even like this tax collector. ¹² I fast twice in the week; I tithe all things, as many as I gain.’

⁹ And I once was alive apart from Law; but the commandment having come, sin revived, and I died;

⁶ according to zeal, persecuting the church; according to righteousness in the Law, having become faultless.

⁵ having a form of godliness but denying its power. And turn away from these.

¹⁹ Do not store up for yourselves treasures upon the earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. ²⁰ But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroy, and where thieves do not break in nor steal. ²¹ For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.

⁴⁴ The kingdom of the heavens is like treasure having been hidden in the field, which a man having found, hid. And for joy over it, he goes and he sells all that he has, and buys that field. ⁴⁵ Again, the kingdom of the heavens is like a merchant seeking fine pearls. ⁴⁶ And having found one very precious pearl, having gone away, he has sold all things as many as he had, and bought it.

²⁴ Then Jesus said His to disciples, “If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me.

²¹ Jesus was saying to him, “If you desire to be perfect, go, sell what you are possessing, and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in the heavens; and come, follow Me.”

³⁴ And having summoned the crowd with His disciples, He said to them, “If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and let him take up his cross, and let him follow Me.

²³ And He was saying to all, “If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and let him take up his cross every day, and let him follow Me.

⁴² but one thing is necessary, only one; for Mary has chosen the good portion, which will not be taken away from her.”

³³ Sell your possessions and give alms; make to yourselves purses not growing old, an unfailing treasure in the heavens, where thief does not draw near, nor does moth destroy.

⁹ And I say to you, make friends for yourselves by the mammon of unrighteousness, that when it fails, they might receive you into the eternal dwellings.

²² And having heard, Jesus said to him, “To you, yet one thing is lacking: Sell all, as much as you have, and distribute to the poor, and you will have treasure in the heavens; and come, follow Me.”

⁴¹ And as He drew near, having seen the city, He wept over it,

²⁶ If anyone serves Me, let him follow Me; and where I am, there My servant will be also. If anyone serves Me, the Father will honor him.

³³ I have spoken these things to you so that in Me you may have peace. In the world you have tribulation. But take courage; I have overcome the world.”

⁴⁵ And they were selling the possessions and the goods, and were dividing them to all, as anyone had need.

³⁴ For there was not even anyone in need among them, for as many as were owners of lands or houses, selling them, were bringing the proceeds of what is sold, ³⁵ and were laying them at the feet of the apostles, and distribution was made to each as anyone had need. ³⁶ Now Joseph having been called Barnabas by the apostles (which is translated, Son of encouragement), a Levite, a Cypriot at the birth, ³⁷ having sold a field he owns, brought the money and laid it at the feet of the apostles.

¹⁷ and if children, also heirs: heirs indeed of God, and joint-heirs of Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him, so that we may also be glorified together. ¹⁸ For I reckon that the sufferings of the present time are not comparable to the coming glory to be revealed to us.

¹⁵ Now I will spend most gladly, and will be utterly spent, for your souls. If loving you more abundantly, am I loved less?

¹⁷ Instruct the rich in the present age not to be high-minded, nor to have hope in the uncertainty of riches, but on God, the One richly providing us all things for enjoyment; ¹⁸ to do good, to be rich in good works, to be generous in distributing, ready to share, ¹⁹ treasuring up for themselves a good foundation for the future, so that they may take hold of that which is indeed life.

¹² And all also desiring to live piously in Christ Jesus will be persecuted.

³⁴ For both you sympathized with the prisoners and you accepted the plundering of your possessions with joy, knowing yourselves to have a better and abiding possession.

¹⁰ For whoever shall keep the whole Law, but shall stumble in one point, he has become guilty of all.

⁴ to an inheritance imperishable and undefiled and unfading, being reserved in the heavens for you, ⁵ who are being guarded by the power of God through faith, for the salvation ready to be revealed in the last time,

⁴ But I have against you that you have abandoned your first love.

¹⁴ But I have a few things against you, because you have some there holding the teaching of Balaam, who would teach Balak to cast a snare before the sons of Israel, to eat things sacrificed to idols, and to commit sexual immorality.

²⁰ But I have against you that you tolerate the woman Jezebel, the one calling herself a prophetess and teaching and misleading My servants to commit sexual immorality and to eat things sacrificed to idols.

²² And the one having been sown among the thorns, this is the one hearing the word, but the care of this present age and the deceit of riches choke the word, and it becomes unfruitful.

²² And having heard this statement, the young man went away grieving; for he was one having many possessions.

³ Then Judas, the one having delivered Him up, having seen that He was condemned, having regretted it, he returned the thirty pieces of silver to the chief priests and elders,

²⁴ And Pilate having seen that it availed nothing, but rather a riot is arising, having taken water, washed the hands before the crowd, saying, “I am guiltless of the blood of this man. For yourselves you will see.” ²⁵ And all the people answering said, “His blood be on us, and on our children.” ²⁶ Then he released Barabbas to them; and having flogged Jesus, He delivered Him up that He might be crucified.

²⁰ For Herod was afraid of John, knowing him a righteous and holy man; and he kept him safe. And having heard him, he was greatly perplexed, and heard him gladly.

²⁶ And the king, having been made very sorrowful, on account of the oaths and those reclining with him, did not want to refuse her.

¹⁵ And He said to them, “Beware, and keep yourselves from all covetousness; for not to anyone is his life in the abundance of that which he possesses.”

²³ And having heard these things, he became very sorrowful; for he was extremely rich.

¹⁰ For grief according to God produces repentance to salvation without regret; but the world’s grief produces death.

⁵ For this you know, realizing that any fornicator, or unclean person, or covetous man, who is an idolater, has no inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God.

⁹ But those desiring to be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and many foolish and harmful desires, which plunge men into ruin and destruction. ¹⁰ For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evils, which some, stretching after, have been seduced away from the faith and have pierced themselves with many sorrows.

¹⁰ for Demas has deserted me, having loved the present age, and he has gone to Thessalonica, Crescens to Galatia, and Titus to Dalmatia.

¹⁵ Do not love the world nor the things in the world. If anyone should love the world, the love of the Father is not in him, ¹⁶ because all that is in the world, the desire of the flesh and the desire of the eyes and the vaunting of life, is not from the Father, but is from the world.

²³ And Jesus said His to disciples, “Truly I say to you that with difficulty a rich man will enter into the kingdom of the heavens. ²⁴ And again I say to you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.” ²⁵ And the disciples having heard were exceedingly astonished, saying, “Who then is able to be saved?” ²⁶ And Jesus having looked on them, said to them, “With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”

³² And He was looking around to see the one having done this.

¹⁵ Truly I say to you, whoever shall not receive the kingdom of God as a child shall never enter into it.”

²⁴ And having seen him, Jesus became sorrowful, saying, “How difficultly those having riches shall enter into the kingdom of God.

⁵ Jesus answered, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless anyone be born of water and of the Spirit, he is not able to enter into the kingdom of God.

²⁶ For consider your calling, brothers, that not many were wise according to the flesh, not many powerful, not many of noble birth.

⁵ Listen, my beloved brothers: Has not God chosen the poor in this world to be rich in faith and heirs of the kingdom that He promised to those loving Him?

⁴ Adulteresses! Do you not know that friendship with the world is hostility with God? Therefore whoever has chosen to be a friend of the world is appointed an enemy of God.

¹¹ For in this way the entrance into the eternal kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ will be richly supplied to you.

²⁵ And the disciples having heard were exceedingly astonished, saying, “Who then is able to be saved?”

¹⁶ And He spoke a parable to them, saying, “The ground of a certain rich man brought forth abundantly. ¹⁷ And he was reasoning within himself, saying, ‘What shall I do, for I have nowhere I will store up my fruits?’ ¹⁸ And he said, ‘I will do this: I will tear down my barns, and will build greater ones, and will store up there all my grain and goods. ¹⁹ And I will say to my soul, “Soul, you have many good things laid up for many years; take your rest; eat, drink, be merry.”’ ²⁰ And God said to him, ‘Fool! This night, your soul is required of you; and what you did prepare—to whom will it be?’ ²¹ So is the one treasuring up for himself, and not being rich toward God.”

²⁶ And those having heard said, “Then who is able to be saved?” ²⁷ But He said, “The things impossible with men are possible with God.”

⁶⁰ Therefore many of His disciples having heard, said, “This word is difficult; who is able to hear it?”

³³ Little children, yet a little while I am with you. You will seek Me, and as I said to the Jews, now I say also to you: ‘Where I go, you are not able to come.’

⁵ Therefore Jesus says to them, “Children do you have any food?” They answered Him, “No.”

¹⁹ My children, of whom I travail again until that Christ shall have been formed in you,

¹⁷ Instruct the rich in the present age not to be high-minded, nor to have hope in the uncertainty of riches, but on God, the One richly providing us all things for enjoyment;

¹ Come now, you rich, weep, wailing over the miseries that are coming upon you. ² Your riches have rotted, and your garments have become moth-eaten. ³ Your gold and silver have corroded, and their rust will be for a testimony against you and will eat your flesh like fire. You have treasured up in the last days.

¹ My little children, I am writing these things to you so that you might not sin. And if anyone should sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the Righteous One.

⁴ You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because the One in you is greater than the one in the world.

²¹ Little children, keep yourselves from idols.

¹⁷ For you say, ‘I am rich, and I have grown rich, and I have need of nothing.’ And you do not realize that you are wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked.

³ And why do you look at the splinter in your brother’s eye, but not notice the beam in your own eye? ⁴ Or how shall you say to your brother, ‘Permit that I might cast out the splinter from your eye,’ and behold, the beam is in your eye? ⁵ Hypocrite! First cast out the beam from your eye, and then you will see clearly to cast out the splinter from the eye of your brother.

²⁴ And again I say to you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.” ²⁵ And the disciples having heard were exceedingly astonished, saying, “Who then is able to be saved?”

²⁴ Blind guides—those straining out the gnat and swallowing the camel!

²⁵ For it is easier for a camel to go through an eye of a needle, than a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.”

⁵¹ And He went up to them into the boat, and the wind ceased. And exceedingly in abundance they were amazed in themselves,

³⁷ And they were astonished above measure, saying, “He has done all things well. He makes both the deaf to hear and the mute to speak.”

²³ And someone said to Him, “Lord, if those being saved are few?” And He said to them,

²⁶ And those having heard said, “Then who is able to be saved?”

³¹ And they said, “Believe on the Lord Jesus and you will be saved, you and your household.”

⁹ that if you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised Him out from the dead, you will be saved. ¹⁰ For in the heart is belief unto righteousness, and in the mouth is confession unto salvation. ¹¹ For the Scripture says, “Everyone believing on Him will not be put to shame.” ¹² For there is no difference between Jew and Greek; for the same Lord of all is rich toward all those calling Him, ¹³ for, “Whoever shall call upon the name of the Lord will be saved.”

²³ Are they servants of Christ? I speak as being beside myself, I too above measure: more abundantly in labors, more abundantly in imprisonments, in beatings above measure, in deaths often.

²⁶ And Jesus having looked on them, said to them, “With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”

³⁷ For nothing will be impossible with God.”

²⁷ But He said, “The things impossible with men are possible with God.”

²¹ who will transform our body of humiliation, conformed to the body of His glory, according to the working enabling Him even to subdue all things to Himself.

²⁵ wherefore also He is able to save to the uttermost those drawing near to God through Him, always living for to intercede for them.

¹⁹ having reasoned that God was able even to raise him out from the dead, from where he received him also in a simile.

²⁰ And immediately having left the nets, they followed Him.

²² and immediately having left the boat and their father they followed Him.

¹⁶ And passing by the Sea of Galilee, He saw Simon and Andrew, the brother of Simon, casting a net into the sea; for they were fishermen. ¹⁷ And Jesus said to them, “Come after Me, and I will make you to become fishers of men.” ¹⁸ And immediately, having left the nets, they followed Him. ¹⁹ And having gone on a little, He saw James the son of Zebedee and his brother John, and they were in the boat mending the nets. ²⁰ And immediately He called them, and having left their father Zebedee in the boat with the hired servants, they went away after Him.

³³ So therefore every one of you who does not give up all that he himself possesses, is not able to be My disciple.

⁷ But whatever things were gain to me, these I have esteemed loss because of Christ. ⁸ But indeed, therefore, I also count all things to be loss because of the excelling knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord, because of whom I have lost all things, and esteem them rubbish, that I may gain Christ ⁹ and be found in Him, not having my own righteousness which is of the Law, but that which is through faith from Christ, the righteousness of God on the basis of faith,

¹⁰ Blessed are those having been persecuted on account of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of the heavens. ¹¹ Blessed are you when they shall insult you and shall persecute you, and lying shall say all kinds of evil against you on account of Me.

¹⁸ And you will be brought also before governors and kings on account of Me, as a testimony to them and to the Gentiles.

³⁵ For whoever might desire to save his life will lose it, and whoever will lose his life on account of Me and of the gospel, he will save it.

²⁸ Now you are those having remained with Me in My trials. ²⁹ And I appoint to you a kingdom, as My Father appointed to Me, ³⁰ so that you may eat and may drink at My table in My kingdom, and may sit on thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.

²³ Now I do all things on account of the gospel, that I might become a fellow partaker with it.

²⁴ By faith Moses, having become grown, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh’s daughter, ²⁵ having chosen to suffer affliction with the people of God, rather than to have the fleeting enjoyment of sin, ²⁶ having esteemed the reproach of Christ greater wealth than the treasures of Egypt; for he was looking toward the reward.

³ And you have perseverance, and have endured for the sake of My name, and have not grown weary.

¹¹ Blessed are you when they shall insult you and shall persecute you, and lying shall say all kinds of evil against you on account of Me. ¹² Rejoice and exult, because great is your reward in the heavens; for thus they persecuted the prophets before you.

³³ But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be added unto you.

³² And if anyone speaks a word against the Son of Man, it will be forgiven him; but if anyone speaks against the Holy Spirit, it will not be forgiven him, neither in this age nor in the coming one.

³⁰ who shall not receive manifold more in this time—and in the age that is coming, eternal life.”

²³ and Jesus was walking in the temple in the porch of Solomon.

²² Therefore you also indeed have grief now; but I will see you again, and your heart will rejoice, and no one will take your joy from you. ²³ And in that day, you will ask of Me nothing. Truly, truly, I say to you, whatever you may ask the Father in My name, He will give you.

⁴¹ Therefore indeed they departed from the presence of the Council, rejoicing that they had been counted worthy to suffer dishonor for the Name.

²⁵ Now toward midnight, Paul and Silas praying, were singing praises to God. And the prisoners were listening to them.

³ And not only so, but also we glory in our tribulations, knowing that tribulation produces perseverance;

¹⁰ as being sorrowful yet always rejoicing; as poor yet enriching many; as having nothing and yet possessing all things.

⁸ And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that in every way, always, having all sufficiency, you may abound in every good work. ⁹ As it has been written: “He has scattered abroad, He has given to the poor; His righteousness abides to the age.” ¹⁰ Now the One supplying seed to the one sowing and bread for food will supply and will multiply your seed for sowing and will increase the fruits of your righteousness, ¹¹ enriching you in every way to all generosity, which produces through us thanksgiving to God.

⁸ But indeed, therefore, I also count all things to be loss because of the excelling knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord, because of whom I have lost all things, and esteem them rubbish, that I may gain Christ

¹⁶ Now our Lord Jesus Christ Himself, and God our Father, the One having loved us and having given us eternal comfort and good hope by grace,

⁶ But godliness with contentment is great gain.

² Esteem it all joy, my brothers, when you might fall into various trials, ³ knowing that testing of your faith produces endurance. ⁴ And let endurance have its perfect work, so that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing.

¹² Blessed is the man who endures trial, because, having been approved, he will receive the crown of life that He has promised to those loving Him.

¹¹ Behold, we count blessed those having persevered. You have heard of the perseverance of Job, and you have seen the outcome from the Lord, that the Lord is full of compassion and is merciful.

¹² Beloved, do not be surprised at the fire among you taking place for a trial to you, as if a strange thing were happening to you. ¹³ But as you have shared in the sufferings of Christ, rejoice, so that also in the revelation of His glory you may rejoice, exulting. ¹⁴ If you are insulted in the name of Christ, you are blessed, because the Spirit of glory and of God rests upon you. ¹⁵ For let not any of you suffer as a murderer, or a thief, or an evildoer, or as a troublesome meddler, ¹⁶ but if as a Christian, let him not be ashamed, but let him glorify God in this name.

¹ Behold what love the Father has given to us, that we should be called children of God—and we are! Because of this, the world does not know us, because it did not know Him.

⁹ I know your tribulation and poverty—but you are rich—and the blasphemy of those claiming themselves to be Jews and are not, but are a synagogue of Satan.

¹⁸ I counsel you to buy from Me gold having been refined by fire so that you may be rich, and white garments so that you may be clothed and the shame your of nakedness might not be made manifest, and eye-salve to anoint your eyes so that you may see.

¹¹ And I say to you that many will come from east and west, and will recline with Abraham and Isaac and Jacob in the kingdom of the heavens. ¹² But the sons of the kingdom will be cast out into the outer darkness; there will be weeping and gnashing of the teeth.”

³⁰ But many who are first will be last, and the last first.

¹⁶ Thus the last will be first, and the first, last.”

³¹ Which of the two did the will of the father?” They say, “The first.” Jesus says to them, “Truly I say to you that the tax collectors and the prostitutes go before you into the kingdom of God.

²⁹ And all the people having heard, even the tax collectors, declared God righteous, having been baptized with the baptism of John. ³⁰ But the Pharisees and the lawyers rejected the counsel of God as to themselves, not having been baptized by him.

⁴⁰ And answering, Jesus said to him, “Simon, I have something to say to you.” And he says, “Teacher, say it.” ⁴¹ “There were two debtors to a certain creditor. The one owed five hundred denarii, and the other fifty. ⁴² They having nothing to pay, he forgave both. Therefore which of them will love him more?” ⁴³ Simon answering, said, “I take it that he to whom he forgave the most.” And He said to him, “You have judged rightly.” ⁴⁴ And having turned to the woman, He was saying to Simon, “Do you see this woman? I entered into your house; you did not give water for My feet, but she wet My feet with her tears and wiped them with her hair. ⁴⁵ You did not give to Me a kiss, but from which time I came in, she herself has not ceased kissing My feet. ⁴⁶ You did not anoint My head with oil, but she herself anointed My feet with fragrant oil. ⁴⁷ Therefore I say to you this: Her many sins have been forgiven, for she loved much; but to whom little is forgiven, he loves little.”

³⁰ And behold, there are last who will be first, and there are first who will be last.”

For everyone exalting himself will be humbled; but the one humbling himself will be exalted.”

⁴⁶ And Paul and Barnabas, having spoken boldly, said, “It was necessary for the word of God to be spoken first to you. But since you thrust it away and do not judge yourselves worthy of eternal life, behold, we are turning to the Gentiles. ⁴⁷ For thus the Lord has commanded us: ‘I have set you for a light of the Gentiles, you to be for salvation to the uttermost part of the earth.’” ⁴⁸ And the Gentiles hearing it were rejoicing and glorifying the word of the Lord, and as many as were appointed to eternal life believed.

³⁰ What then will we say? That Gentiles, not pursuing righteousness, have attained righteousness, and righteousness that is by faith; ³¹ but Israel, pursuing a law of righteousness, did not attain to that law. ³² Why? Because it was not by faith, but as by works. They stumbled over the stone of stumbling, ³³ as it has been written: “Behold, I lay in Zion a stone of stumbling, and a rock of offense; and the one believing on Him will never be put to shame.”

²⁵ At that time, Jesus answering said, “I fully consent to You, Father, Lord of the heaven and the earth, that You did hide these things from the wise and learned, and did reveal them to little children.

¹¹ And answering He said to them, “Because it has been granted to you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of the heavens, but to them it has not been granted.

¹⁷ And Jesus going up to Jerusalem, He took the twelve disciples aside themselves on the way, and said to them, ¹⁸ “Behold, we go up to Jerusalem, and the Son of Man will be betrayed to the chief priests and scribes, and they will condemn Him to death. ¹⁹ And they will betray Him to the Gentiles to mock and to flog and to crucify; and the third day He will rise again.”

³⁴ and He would not speak to them without parables; but privately He would explain all things to His own disciples.

⁵¹ And it came to pass in the completing of the days of His ascension, that He steadfastly set the face to go to Jerusalem.

²³ And having turned to the disciples, He said in private, “Blessed are the eyes seeing what you see!

³¹ And having taken aside the Twelve, He said to them, “Behold, we go up to Jerusalem, and all things having been written by the prophets about the Son of Man will be accomplished. ³² For He will be betrayed to the Gentiles and will be mocked and will be insulted and will be spit upon. ³³ And having flogged Him, they will kill Him; and on the third day He will rise again.” ³⁴ And they understood none of these things, and this word was hidden from them, and they did not know the things being spoken.

⁸ The disciples say to Him, “Rabbi, just now the Jews were seeking to stone You, and You are going there again?”

¹⁶ Therefore Thomas called Didymus said to the fellow disciples, “Let us also go, that we may die with Him.”

²¹ From that time Jesus began to show to His disciples that it is necessary for Him to go away to Jerusalem, and to suffer many things from the elders and chief priests and scribes, and to be killed, and to be raised on the third day.

²² And while they were abiding in Galilee, Jesus said to them, “The Son of Man is about to be betrayed into the hands of men, ²³ and they will kill Him, and on the third day He will be raised up.” And they were deeply grieved.

⁶⁶ What do you think?” And answering they said, “He is deserving of death.”

² And having bound Him, they led Him away and delivered Him to Pilate the governor.

³¹ And He began to teach them that it is necessary for the Son of Man to suffer many things, and to be rejected by the elders and the chief priests and the scribes, and to be killed, and after three days to rise again.

³¹ for He was teaching His disciples. And He was saying to them, “The Son of Man is delivered into the hands of men, and they will kill Him; and having been killed, on the third day He will arise.”

⁶⁴ You heard the blasphemy. What does it appear to you?” And all condemned Him to be deserving of death.

¹ And early in the morning, having formed a counsel, the chief priests, with the elders and scribes and the whole Council, having bound Jesus, led Him away and delivered Him to Pilate.

²² having said, “It is necessary for the Son of Man to suffer many things, and to be rejected by the elders and chief priests and scribes, and to be killed, and on the third day to be raised.”

³¹ And having taken aside the Twelve, He said to them, “Behold, we go up to Jerusalem, and all things having been written by the prophets about the Son of Man will be accomplished. ³² For He will be betrayed to the Gentiles and will be mocked and will be insulted and will be spit upon. ³³ And having flogged Him, they will kill Him; and on the third day He will rise again.”

¹ And having risen up, all the multitude of them led Him to Pilate. ² And they began to accuse Him, saying, “We found this man misleading our nation, and forbidding tribute to be given to Caesar, and declaring Himself to be Christ, a king.”

²¹ But they were crying out, saying, “Crucify! Crucify Him!”

⁶ He is not here, but He is risen! Remember how He spoke to you, being yet in Galilee, ⁷ saying, ‘It behooves the Son of Man to be delivered into hands of sinful men, and to be crucified, and the third day to arise.’”

²⁸ Then they are leading Jesus from Caiaphas into the Praetorium. Now it was early, and they did not enter into the Praetorium, so that they should not be defiled, but might eat the Passover.

¹¹ Jesus answered him, “You would have no authority over Me, if it were not given to you from above. Because of this, the one having delivered Me up to you has greater sin.”

¹³ The God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God Jacob, the God of our fathers, has glorified His servant Jesus, whom indeed you betrayed and disowned in the presence of Pilate, that one having adjudged to release Him. ¹⁴ But you denied the Holy and Righteous One and requested a murderer to be granted to you.

²⁷ For those dwelling in Jerusalem and their rulers, not having known Him and the voices of the prophets that are being read on every Sabbath, having condemned Him, they fulfilled them.

²² And now behold, bound in the Spirit I go to Jerusalem, not knowing what will happen to me in it,

⁶ You have condemned and have put to death the righteous; he does not resist you.

³⁹ And answering He said to them, “An evil and adulterous generation seeks for a sign, and no sign will be given to it, except the sign of Jonah the prophet. ⁴⁰ For just as Jonah was in the belly of the great fish three days and three nights, so the Son of Man will be in the heart of the earth three days and three nights.

⁶⁷ Then they spat in His face and struck Him. And others slapped Him,

²⁷ Then the soldiers of the governor, having taken Jesus into the Praetorium, gathered the whole cohort before Him. ²⁸ And having stripped Him, they put a scarlet robe around Him. ²⁹ And having twisted together a crown of thorns, they put it on His head, and a reed in His right hand; and having bowed the knees before Him, they mocked Him, saying, “Hail, King of the Jews!” ³⁰ And having spit upon Him, they took the reed and kept striking Him on His head. ³¹ And when they had mocked Him, they took off Him the robe, and they put His garments on Him and led away Him to crucify Him. ³² And going forth, they found a man of Cyrene, named Simon. They compelled him that he might carry His cross. ³³ And having come to a place called Golgotha, which is called Place of a Skull, ³⁴ they gave Him wine to drink, mingled with gall; and having tasted, He was not willing to drink it. ³⁵ And having crucified Him, they divided His garments, casting lots. ³⁶ And sitting down, they were guarding Him there. ³⁷ And they put up over His head the written accusation against Him: this is Jesus, the King of the Jews. ³⁸ At the same time two robbers are crucified with Him, one at the right hand, and one at the left. ³⁹ And those passing by kept railing at Him, wagging their heads ⁴⁰ and saying, “The One destroying the temple and building it in three days, save Yourself! If You are the Son of God, also descend from the cross!” ⁴¹ Likewise also, the chief priests with the scribes and elders, mocking, were saying, ⁴² “He saved others. He is not able to save Himself. He is King of Israel! Let Him descend now from the cross, and we will believe in Him. ⁴³ He trusted on God. Let Him deliver Him now if He wants. For He said, ‘I am the Son of God.’” ⁴⁴ And likewise even the robbers, those having been crucified with Him, were upbraiding Him.

⁶³ And the high priest, having torn his garments, says, “Why have we need of witnesses?

⁶⁵ And some began to spit upon Him, and to cover up His face, and to strike Him and to say to Him, “Prophesy!” And the officers struck Him with the palms.

¹⁷ And they put on Him purple, and having twisted together a crown of thorns, they placed it on Him, ¹⁸ and they began to salute Him, “Hail, King of the Jews!” ¹⁹ And they kept striking His head with a reed and spitting on Him; and bending the knees, they were kneeling down to Him. ²⁰ And when they had mocked Him, they took off Him the purple and put on Him His own garments. And they are leading Him out, that they might crucify Him.

²⁹ And those passing by were railing at Him, shaking their heads and saying, “Aha! The One destroying the temple and building it in three days, ³⁰ save Yourself, having descended from the cross!” ³¹ Likewise also the chief priests, with the scribes, mocking among one another, were saying, “He saved others; He is not able to save Himself.

⁶³ And the men who are holding Him began mocking Him, beating Him. ⁶⁴ And having blindfolded Him, they were questioning Him, saying, “Prophesy, who is the one having struck You?” ⁶⁵ And they were saying many other things to Him, blaspheming.

¹¹ And Herod, with his troops, having set Him at naught and also having mocked Him, having put on Him splendid apparel, sent Him back to Pilate.

³⁵ And the people stood beholding. And the rulers also were deriding Him, saying, “He saved others; let Him save Himself, if this is the Christ of God, the Chosen One.” ³⁶ And the soldiers also mocked Him, coming near, offering Him sour wine, ³⁷ and saying, “If You are the King of the Jews, save Yourself!” ³⁸ And there was also this inscription over Him: The King of the Jews. ³⁹ And one of the criminals having been hanged was railing at Him, saying, “Are You not the Christ? Save Yourself and us!”

¹⁷ For the Law was given through Moses; grace and truth came through Jesus Christ.

¹⁰ and he says to him, “Every man first sets out the good wine, and when they might have drunk freely, the inferior; you have kept the good wine until now.”

² And the soldiers, having twisted together a crown of thorns, put it on His head and cast around Him a purple robe. ³ And they began coming up to Him and saying, “Hail, King of the Jews!” And they kept giving Him blows with the palm.

⁴ and that He was buried, and that He was raised the third day according to the Scriptures,

²⁰ Then the mother of the sons of Zebedee came to Him with her sons, kneeling down and asking something from Him. ²¹ And He said to her, “What do you desire?” She says to Him, “Say that these two sons of mine might sit, one on Your right hand and one on Your left hand, in Your kingdom.” ²² And Jesus answering, said, “You do not know what you ask for. Are you able to drink the cup which I am about to drink?” They say to Him, “We are able.” ²³ He says to them, “Indeed you will drink My cup, but to sit on My right hand and on My left, this is not Mine to give, but for whom it has been prepared by My Father.” ²⁴ And the ten having heard this, were indignant about the two brothers. ²⁵ And Jesus having summoned them, said, “You know that the rulers of the Gentiles exercise lordship over them, and the great ones exercise authority over them. ²⁶ Thus will it not be among you. But whoever wishes to become great among you, he will be your servant; ²⁷ and whoever wishes to be first among you, he will be your slave— ²⁸ even as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life as a ransom for many.”

³⁷ And He did not allow anyone to follow with Him, except Peter, and James, and John the brother of James.

² And after six days, Jesus takes with Him Peter and James and John, and brings them up into a high mountain by themselves alone. And He was transfigured before them,

³³ And He takes Peter and James and John with Him; and He began to be greatly awe-struck and deeply distressed.

⁵¹ And Jesus answering him says, “What do you desire I should do to you?” And the blind man said to Him, “Rabboni, that I may receive sight.”

⁷ If you abide in Me and My words abide in you, you shall ask whatever you wish, and to you it will come to pass.

²⁸ And Jesus said to them, “Truly I say to you that in the regeneration, when the Son of Man shall sit down upon His throne of glory, you having followed Me, you also will sit on twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.

³¹ And when the Son of Man comes in His glory, and all the angels with Him, then He will sit upon His throne of glory.

³⁸ For whoever may be ashamed of Me and My words in this adulterous and sinful generation, the Son of Man also will be ashamed of him when He shall come in the glory of His Father, with the holy angels.”

¹⁹ Therefore indeed the Lord Jesus, after speaking to them, was taken up into the heaven and sat at the right hand of God.

²⁶ Was it not necessary for the Christ to suffer these things and to enter into His glory?”

¹¹ inquiring into what or what manner of time the Spirit of Christ in them was signifying, testifying beforehand of the sufferings of Christ and the glories after these,

²¹ And He said to her, “What do you desire?” She says to Him, “Say that these two sons of mine might sit, one on Your right hand and one on Your left hand, in Your kingdom.” ²² And Jesus answering, said, “You do not know what you ask for. Are you able to drink the cup which I am about to drink?” They say to Him, “We are able.”

³⁹ And having gone forward a little, He fell upon His face, praying, and saying, “My Father, if it is possible, let this cup pass from Me. Nevertheless not as I will, but as You.”

³⁶ And He was saying, “Abba, Father, all things are possible to You; take away this cup from Me; but not what I will, but what You will.”

⁵⁰ But I have a baptism with which to be baptized, and how I am distressed until it should be accomplished!

⁴² saying, “Father, if You are willing, take away this cup from Me. Yet not My will, but Yours be done.”

¹¹ Therefore Jesus said to Peter, “Put the sword into the sheath. The cup which the Father has given Me, shall I not drink it?”

²⁶ Now likewise also, the Spirit joins to help us in weakness; for we do not know the things which we should pray for as it behooves, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession with inexpressible groanings.

³ You ask and do not receive, because you ask wrongly, that you may spend it in your pleasures.

²⁵ It is sufficient for the disciple that he become like his teacher, and the servant like his master. If the master of the house they called Beelzebul, how much more those of his household!

³¹ And he kept saying emphatically, “If it is needful of me to die with You, never will I deny You.” And all of them were saying likewise also.

³⁷ Peter says to Him, “Lord, why am I not able to follow You presently? I will lay down my life for You.”

²⁰ Remember the word that I said to you: ‘A servant is not greater than his master.’ If they persecuted Me, they will also persecute you; if they kept My word, they will keep yours also.

¹⁴ I have given them Your word, and the world hated them, because they are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.

² And he put to death James the brother of John with the sword.

²⁴ Now I rejoice in the sufferings for you, and I am filling up in my flesh that which is lacking of the tribulations of Christ for His body, which is the church,

⁹ I John, your brother and fellow-partaker in the tribulation and kingdom and perseverance in Jesus, was in the island called Patmos on account of the word of God and the testimony of Jesus.

²³ He says to them, “Indeed you will drink My cup, but to sit on My right hand and on My left, this is not Mine to give, but for whom it has been prepared by My Father.”

² As You gave Him authority over all flesh, so that all whom You have given Him, He may give to them eternal life.

²⁴ Father, those whom You have given Me, I desire that they also may be with Me where I am, that they may behold My glory that You gave Me because You loved Me before the foundation of the world.

¹⁶ But now they stretch forward to a better one, that is, a heavenly one. Therefore God is not ashamed of them, to be called their God; for He has prepared a city for them.

²⁴ And the ten having heard this, were indignant about the two brothers.

³³ And they came to Capernaum. And having been in the house, He was asking them, “What were you discussing on the way?” ³⁴ And they were silent, for along the road they had been discussing with one another which was greatest. ³⁵ And having sat down, He called the Twelve, and He says to them, “If anyone desires to be first, he will be last of all and servant of all.” ³⁶ And having taken a child, He set it in the midst of them; and having taken it in His arms, He said to them,

²⁴ And there was also a dispute among them which of them is thought to be the greatest.

¹⁰ devoted to one another in brotherly love, esteeming one another in honor,

³ nothing according to self-interest or according to vain conceit, but in humility be esteeming one another surpassing themselves,

⁵ Or do you think that the Scripture says in vain, “The Spirit that He has made to dwell in us yearns with envy”?

²⁵ And Jesus having summoned them, said, “You know that the rulers of the Gentiles exercise lordship over them, and the great ones exercise authority over them.

²⁵ And He said to them, “The kings of the Gentiles rule over them, and those exercising authority over them are called benefactors.

³ not as exercising lordship over those in your charge, but being examples to the flock.

²⁶ Thus will it not be among you. But whoever wishes to become great among you, he will be your servant; ²⁷ and whoever wishes to be first among you, he will be your slave—

⁸ But you shall not be called ‘Rabbi,’ for your Teacher is One, and you are all brothers. ⁹ And call no one your father on the earth; for One is your Father, who is in heaven. ¹⁰ Neither be called instructors; since One is your instructor, the Christ. ¹¹ But the greatest among you will be your servant. ¹² And whoever shall exalt himself will be humbled, and whoever shall humble himself will be exalted.

³⁵ And having sat down, He called the Twelve, and He says to them, “If anyone desires to be first, he will be last of all and servant of all.”

⁴⁸ and He said to them, “Whoever shall receive this child in My name, receives Me; and whoever shall receive Me, receives the One having sent Me. For the one being least among you all, he shall be great.”

¹¹ For everyone exalting himself will be humbled, and the one humbling himself will be exalted.”

¹⁴ I say to you, this one went down to his house justified, rather than that. For everyone exalting himself will be humbled; but the one humbling himself will be exalted.”

¹³ You call Me Teacher and Lord, and you say rightly, for so I am. ¹⁴ Therefore if I, the Lord and the Teacher, have washed your feet, you also ought to wash the feet of one another. ¹⁵ For I gave you a pattern, that as I did to you, you also should do. ¹⁶ Truly, truly, I say to you, a servant is not greater than his master, nor a messenger greater than the one having sent him. ¹⁷ If you know these things, you are blessed if you do them. ¹⁸ I speak not about all of you. I know whom I chose; but it is that the Scripture may be fulfilled: ‘The one eating My bread has lifted up his heel against Me.’

³⁶ Jesus answered, “My kingdom is not of this world; if My kingdom were of this world, My attendants would fight that I might not be betrayed to the Jews. But now My kingdom is not from here.”

² And do not be conformed to this age, but be transformed by the renewing of the mind, for you to prove what is the good and well-pleasing and perfect will of God.

¹⁹ For being free from all, I myself became servant to all, so that I might win the more. ²⁰ And to the Jews I became like a Jew, so that I might win the Jews. To those under the Law, as under the Law (myself not being under the Law) so that I might win those under the Law. ²¹ To those outside the Law, as outside the Law (not being outside the law of God, but under the law of Christ) so that I might win those outside the Law. ²² To the weak I became weak, that I might win the weak. I have become all these things to all, so that by all means I might save some. ²³ Now I do all things on account of the gospel, that I might become a fellow partaker with it.

¹³ For you brothers were called to freedom, but not the freedom for an opportunity to the flesh. Rather, serve one another through love.

⁵ Likewise, younger ones, be subject to your elders. And all, gird on humility one to another, because, “God opposes the proud, but gives grace to the humble.” ⁶ Be humbled therefore under the mighty hand of God, so that He may exalt you in due time,

²⁸ even as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life as a ransom for many.”

²⁶ But you shall not be thus. Instead, the greatest among you, let him be as the younger; and the one leading, as the one serving. ²⁷ For who is greater, the one reclining or the one serving? Is not the one reclining? But I am in your midst as the One serving.

¹⁵ As the Father knows Me, I also know the Father; and I lay down My life for the sheep.

¹⁴ Therefore if I, the Lord and the Teacher, have washed your feet, you also ought to wash the feet of one another.

²¹ He made the One not having known sin to be sin for us, so that in Him we might become the righteousness of God.

⁹ For you know the grace our Lord Jesus Christ, that being rich, for the sake of you He became poor, so that you through His poverty might be enriched.

¹³ Christ redeemed us from the curse of the Law, having become a curse for us—for it has been written: “Cursed is everyone hanging on a tree”—

⁵ Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus: ⁶ Who, existing in the form of God, did not consider to be equal with God something to be grasped, ⁷ but emptied Himself, having taken the form of a servant, having been made in the likeness of men. ⁸ And having been found in appearance as a man He humbled Himself, having become obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.

⁴ managing the own house well, having children in submission, with all dignity— ⁵ but if one does not know how to manage the own household, how will he care for the church of God?— ⁶ not a novice, lest having been puffed up, he might fall into the judgment of the devil.

¹⁴ who gave Himself for us, that He might redeem us from all lawlessness and might purify to Himself a people specially chosen, zealous of good works.

⁸ though being a Son, He learned obedience from the things He suffered,

¹⁹ but by the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot,

²⁹ And as they were going out from Jericho, a great crowd followed Him. ³⁰ And behold, two blind men sitting beside the road, having heard that Jesus is passing by, cried out saying, “Lord, have mercy on us, Son of David!” ³¹ And the crowd rebuked them that they should be silent. But they cried out all the more, saying, “Lord, have mercy on us, Son of David!” ³² And Jesus having stopped, called them and said, “What do you desire I should do unto you?” ³³ They say to Him, “Lord, that our eyes might be opened.” ³⁴ And having been moved with compassion, Jesus touched their eyes; and immediately they received sight, and they followed Him.

²⁰ And a certain poor man named Lazarus, being full of sores, was laid at his gate

²² And it came to pass that the poor man died, and he was carried away by the angels into the bosom of Abraham. And the rich man also died and was buried.

³⁵ And it came to pass in His drawing near to Jericho, a certain blind man was sitting beside the road, begging.

⁸ Therefore the neighbors and those having seen him before, that he was a beggar, were saying, “Is this not he who was sitting and begging?”

² And a certain man was being carried, being lame from his mother’s womb, whom they placed every day at the temple gate called Beautiful to ask for alms from those going into the temple, ³ who having seen Peter and John being about to enter into the temple, was asking to receive alms.

¹ The book of the genealogy of Jesus Christ, son of David, son of Abraham:

²³ And having come, he dwelt in a city being called Nazareth, so that it should be fulfilled that having been spoken through the prophets, that “He will be called a Nazarene.”

²⁷ And Jesus passing on from there, two blind men followed Him, crying out and saying, “Have mercy on us, Son of David.”

²³ And all the crowds were amazed, and were saying, “Could this be the Son of David?”

²² And behold, a Canaanite woman from the same region having approached, was crying out saying, “Have mercy on me, Lord, Son of David! My daughter is miserably possessed by a demon.”

³⁰ And behold, two blind men sitting beside the road, having heard that Jesus is passing by, cried out saying, “Lord, have mercy on us, Son of David!”

⁹ And the crowds going before Him and those following were crying out, saying: “Hosanna to the Son of David!” “Blessed is the One coming in the name of the Lord!” “Hosanna in the highest!”

¹¹ And the crowds were saying, “This is the prophet, Jesus, the One from Nazareth of Galilee.”

⁴² saying, “What do you think concerning the Christ? Of whom is He son?” They say to Him, “Of David.” ⁴³ He says to them, “How then does David in spirit call Him Lord, saying: ⁴⁴ ‘The Lord said to my Lord, “Sit at My right hand, until I place Your enemies as a footstool for Your feet.”’ ⁴⁵ If therefore David calls Him Lord, how is He his son?”

⁷¹ And having gone out to the porch, another saw him, and says to those there, “This man was with Jesus of Nazareth.”

²⁴ saying, “What to us and to You, Jesus of Nazareth? Did You come to destroy us? I know who You are, the Holy One of God!”

¹⁶ And He came to Nazareth, where He had been brought up; and according to His custom, He entered into the synagogue on the day of the Sabbaths, and stood up to read.

³⁶ And having heard a crowd passing along, he was asking what this might be. ³⁷ And they told him, “Jesus of Nazareth is passing by.”

⁴⁶ And Nathanael said to him, “Is any good thing able to be out of Nazareth?” Philip says to him, “Come and see.”

⁴¹ Others were saying, “This is the Christ.” But others were saying, “Surely the Christ does not come out of Galilee?

⁵² They answered and said to him, “Are you not also from Galilee? Search and see that a prophet is not raised out of Galilee.”

¹⁹ And Pilate also wrote a title and put it on the cross. And it was written, Jesus of Nazareth, the King of the Jews.

¹⁴ For we have heard him saying that this Jesus of Nazareth will destroy this place and will change the customs that Moses delivered to us.”

²² And having removed him, He raised up David to them as king, to whom also He said, having carried witness: ‘I have found David the son of Jesse a man according to My heart, who will do all My will.’ ²³ Of the seed of this man, according to promise, God raised up to Israel the Savior, Jesus—

³ concerning His Son, having come of the seed of David according to flesh, ⁴ having been declared the Son of God in power according to the Spirit of holiness, by resurrection from the dead: Jesus Christ our Lord,

¹⁶ “I, Jesus, have sent My angel to testify to all of you these things in the churches. I am the root and the offspring of David, the bright morning star.”

²³ But He did not answer her a word. And His disciples having approached, were imploring Him, saying, “Dismiss her, for she cries out after us!” ²⁴ And answering He said, “I was sent only to those being lost sheep of the house of Israel.” ²⁵ And having come, she was worshiping Him saying, “Lord, help me!” ²⁶ And answering He said, “It is not right to take the children’s bread and to cast it to the dogs.” ²⁷ And she said, “Yes Lord, but even the dogs eat the crumbs falling from their masters’ table.” ²⁸ Then Jesus answering said to her, “O woman, great is your faith. It shall be to you as you desire.” And her daughter was healed from that very hour.

¹³ Then little children were brought to Him, that He might lay the hands on them, and might pray. But the disciples rebuked them.

³¹ And the crowd rebuked them that they should be silent. But they cried out all the more, saying, “Lord, have mercy on us, Son of David!”

³⁵ While yet He is speaking, they come from the ruler of the synagogue’s house, saying, “Your daughter is dead; why do you trouble the Teacher still?”

²⁶ Now the woman was Gentile, Syrophoenician by race, and kept asking Him that He should cast forth the demon out of her daughter. ²⁷ And He was saying to her, “Permit the children to be satisfied first; for it is not good to take the children’s bread and to cast it to the dogs.” ²⁸ But she answered and says to Him, “Yes, Lord, even the dogs under the table eat of the children’s crumbs.” ²⁹ And He said to her, “Because of this word, go; the demon has gone forth out of your daughter.”

⁵ And He said to them, “Who among you will have a friend, and will go to him at midnight and say to him, ‘Friend, lend me three loaves, ⁶ since a friend of mine is come to me off a journey, and I have nothing that I will set before him.’ ⁷ And he answering from within will say, ‘Do not cause me trouble; the door already has been shut, and my children are with me in bed; I am not able, having risen up, to give to you.’ ⁸ I say to you, even though he will not give to him, having risen up because of being his friend; yet because of his persistence, having risen, he will give him as much as he needs. ⁹ And I say to you: Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and it will be opened to you. ¹⁰ For everyone asking receives; and the one seeking finds; and to the one knocking, it will be opened.

¹ And He was speaking to them a parable about the way it behooves them always to pray and not to lose heart, ² saying, “In a certain city, there was a certain judge, not fearing God, and not respecting man. ³ And there was a widow in that city, and she was coming to him, saying, ‘Avenge me of my adversary.’ ⁴ And for a time he would not, but afterward he said within himself, ‘Even if I do not fear God, nor respect man, ⁵ yet because this widow causes me trouble, I will avenge her, so that in the end she does not exhaust me, coming to me.’” ⁶ And the Lord said, “Hear what the unrighteous judge says. ⁷ And shall not God execute the avenging of His elect, the ones crying out to Him day and night, and be deferring in regard to them? ⁸ I say to you that He will execute their avenging in quickness. Nevertheless, the Son of Man having come, will He find faith on the earth?”

³⁹ And those going before were rebuking him, that he should be silent. But he kept crying out much more, “Son of David, have mercy on me.”

¹⁸ through all prayer and supplication, praying in the Spirit in every season and unto this very thing, watching with all perseverance and supplication for all saints,

⁷ He in the days of His flesh, having offered up both prayers and supplications with loud crying and tears to the One being able to save Him from death, and having been heard because of reverent submission,

⁴⁰ And Jesus, having stopped, commanded him to be brought to Him. And of him having drawn near, He asked him,

²⁸ And having said these things she went away and called her sister Mary secretly, having said, “The Teacher is come, and He calls you.”

¹⁷ Therefore it behooved Him to be made like the brothers in all things, so that He might become a merciful and faithful high priest in things relating to God, in order to make propitiation for the sins of the people.

¹⁵ For we do not have a high priest not being able to sympathize with our weaknesses, but one having been tempted in all things by the same way, without sin.

¹ Therefore we also, having such a great cloud of witnesses encompassing us, having laid aside every weight and the sin easily entangling, should run with endurance the race lying before us,

⁸ Therefore do not be like to them, for your Father knows of what things you have need before your asking Him.

⁷ Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and it will be opened unto you.

⁷ and the greetings in the marketplaces, and to be called ‘Rabbi’ by men.

³⁶ And He said to them, “What do you desire Me to do for you?”

⁴¹ “What do you desire I shall do to you?” And he said, “Lord, that I might receive sight.” ⁴² And Jesus said to him, “Receive sight! Your faith has healed you.” ⁴³ And immediately he received sight and began following Him, glorifying God. And all the people having seen it gave praise to God.

¹⁶ Jesus says to her, “Mary.” Having turned around, she says to Him in Hebrew, “Rabboni,” that is to say, “Teacher.”

⁶ Be anxious about nothing, but in everything, by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God.

²² And Jesus, having turned and having seen her said, “Take courage, daughter. Your faith has cured you.” And the woman was cured from that very hour.

²⁸ And having come into the house, the blind men came to Him, and Jesus says to them, “Do you believe that I am able to do this?” They say to him, “Yes, Lord.” ²⁹ Then He touched their eyes, saying, “According to your faith be it to you.” ³⁰ And their eyes were opened. And Jesus strictly instructed them, saying, “See that no one knows!”

⁵ The blind receive sight, and the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, and the deaf hear, and the dead are raised, and the poor are gospelized.

²² Then was brought to Him one possessed by a demon, blind and mute, and He healed him, in order for the mute man to speak and to see.

²⁸ Then Jesus answering said to her, “O woman, great is your faith. It shall be to you as you desire.” And her daughter was healed from that very hour.

¹⁴ And the blind and the lame came to Him in the temple, and He healed them.

³¹ And having come to her, He raised her up, having taken hold of the hand. And the fever left her, and she began to minister to them.

³⁴ And He said to her, “Daughter, your faith has healed you; go in peace and be sound from your affliction.”

²⁵ Then He laid the hands upon his eyes again, and he opened his eyes and was restored, and he began to see everything clearly.

⁵⁰ And He said to the woman, “Your faith has saved you; go in peace.”

² and certain women who had been cured from evil spirits and infirmities: Mary who is called Magdalene, from whom seven demons had gone out, ³ and Joanna wife of Chuza, a steward of Herod, and Susanna, and many others, who were ministering to them out of their own means.

⁵ While I shall be in the world, I am the light of the world.” ⁶ Having said these things, He spat on the ground, and made clay of the spittle, and applied the clay to his eyes. ⁷ And He said to him, “Go, wash in the pool of Siloam” (which means Sent). Therefore he went and washed, and came seeing.

³² Never out of the age has it been heard that anyone opened the eyes of one having been born blind.

³⁹ And Jesus said, “For judgment I came into this world, that those not seeing may see, and those seeing may become blind.”

¹⁸ to open their eyes, that they may turn from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan to God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins and an inheritance among those having been sanctified by faith in Me.’
