32 And Jesus, having called His disciples to Him, said, “I am moved with compassion toward the crowd, because they continue with Me three days already and have nothing that they might eat. And I am not willing to send them away hungry, lest they faint on the way.” 33 And the disciples say to Him, “From where will be to us in a secluded place so many loaves, as so great a crowd to satisfy?” 34 And Jesus says to them, “How many loaves do you have?” And they said, “Seven, and a few small fish.” 35 And having commanded the crowds to sit down on the ground, 36 having taken the seven loaves and the fish, and having given thanks, He broke them and kept giving them to the disciples, and the disciples to the crowd. 37 And all ate and were satisfied, and they took up that being over and above of the fragments, seven baskets full. 38 And those eating were four thousand men, besides women and children.

Mark 6:30-44

30 And the apostles are gathered together to Jesus, and they related to him all things, what they had done and what they had taught. 31 And He said to them, “You yourselves come apart to a solitary place, and rest a little.” For those coming and those going were many, and not even did they have opportunity to eat. 32 And they went away by the boat into a solitary place by themselves. 33 And many saw them going, and recognized, and ran together there on foot from all the cities, and went before them. 34 And having gone out, He saw a great crowd and was moved with compassion toward them, because they were like sheep not having a shepherd. And He began to teach them many things. 35 And the hour already being late, having come to Him, his disciples were saying, “The place is desolate, and the hour already is late. 36 Dismiss them, that having gone to the surrounding region and villages, they might buy for themselves something to eat.” 37 But answering, He said to them, “You give to them to eat.” And they say to Him, “Having gone, shall we buy two hundred denarii of bread and give them to eat?” 38 And He says to them, “How many loaves do you have? Go, see.” And having known, they say, “Five, and two fish.” 39 And He commanded them to make them all recline, groups by groups, on the green grass. 40 And they sat down groups by groups, by hundreds and by fifties. 41 And having taken the five loaves and the two fish, having looked up to the heaven, He blessed and broke the loaves, and He kept giving them to His disciples, that they might set before them. Luke 9:10-17

10 And having returned, the apostles related to Him whatever they had done. And having taken them, He withdrew by Himself into a town called Bethsaida. 11 And the crowds having known it, followed Him; and having received them, He was speaking to them concerning the kingdom of God, and He was healing those having need of healing. 12 And the day began to decline, and the Twelve having come, said to Him, “Dismiss the crowd, that having gone into the surrounding villages and countryside, they might lodge and might find provisions; for we are in a desolate place here.” 13 And He said to them, “You give to them to eat.” But they said, “There are no more than five loaves to us, and two fish, unless we, having gone, should buy food for all this people.” 14 For they were about five thousand men. And He said to His disciples, “Make them sit down in groups of about fifty.” 15 And they did so and made all sit down. 16 And having taken the five loaves and the two fish, having looked up to the heaven, He blessed and broke them, and He kept giving them to the disciples to set before the crowd. 17 And they all ate and were satisfied; and that having been a surplus to them was taken up, twelve hand-baskets of fragments.

John 6:1-15

1 After these things Jesus went away, over the Sea of Galilee (of Tiberias), 2 and a great crowd was following Him because they were seeing the signs which He was doing upon those being sick. 3 Now Jesus went up on the mountain and was sitting there with His disciples. 4 Now the Passover, the feast of the Jews, was near. 5 Then Jesus, having lifted up the eyes and having seen that a great crowd is coming to Him, says to Philip, “From where shall we buy bread that these might eat?” 6 Now He was saying this testing him, for He knew what He was about to do. 7 Philip answered Him, “Two hundred denarii worth of loaves are not sufficient for them, that each might receive one little piece.” 8 One of His disciples, Andrew, the brother of Simon Peter, says to Him, 9 “Here is a little boy who has five barley loaves and two small fish, but what are these for so many?” 10 Jesus said, “Make the men to recline.” Now there was much grass in the place; therefore the men reclined, about five thousand in number. 11 And Jesus took the loaves, and having given thanks, He distributed to those reclining; likewise also of the fish, as much as they wished. 12 Now when they were filled, He says to His disciples, “Gather together the fragments having been over and above, so that not anything may be lost.” 13 So they gathered them together and filled twelve hand-baskets of fragments from the five barley loaves, which were over and above to those having eaten. 14 Therefore the people, having seen what sign He had done, were saying, “This is truly the prophet who is coming into the world.” 15 Therefore Jesus, having known that they are about to come and to seize Him that they might make Him king, withdrew again to the mountain Himself alone.
