²⁴ And the news of Him went out into all Syria. And they brought to Him all the sick having various diseases and oppressing pains, and being possessed by demons, and having seizures, and paralytics—and He healed them.

² And behold, they were bringing to Him a paralytic lying on a bed. And Jesus, having seen their faith, said to the paralytic, “Take courage, son; your sins have been forgiven.”

³ And they come, bringing to Him a paralytic, being carried by four. ⁴ And not being able to come near to Him on account of the crowd, they removed the roof where He was, and having broken it up, they let down the pallet on which the paralytic was lying. ⁵ And Jesus, having seen their faith, says to the paralytic, “Son, your sins are forgiven.” ⁶ And some of the scribes were sitting there and reasoning in their hearts, ⁷ “Why does this man speak thus? He blasphemes! Who is able to forgive sins, except God alone?” ⁸ And immediately Jesus, having known in His spirit that they are reasoning thus within themselves, says to them, “Why do you reason these things in your hearts? ⁹ Which is easier, to say to the paralytic, ‘Your sins are forgiven,’ or to say, ‘Arise, and take up your mat, and walk’? ¹⁰ But that you might know that the Son of Man has authority to forgive sins on the earth...” He says to the paralytic, ¹¹ “I say to you, arise, take up your mat, and go to your home.” ¹² And he arose, and immediately, having taken up the mat, he went forth before all, so as for all to be amazed and to glorify God, saying, “Never did we see thus.”

⁷ For from many of those having unclean spirits, they were coming out, crying in a loud voice. And many having been paralyzed and lame were healed.

³³ And he found there a certain man named Aeneas, who was paralyzed, lying on a bed for eight years.

⁷ And when the angel speaking to him had departed, having called two of the servants and a devout soldier of those who are attending him,

¹¹ where there is not Greek and Jew, circumcision and uncircumcision, Barbarian, Scythian, slave, and free; but Christ is all and in all.

¹ Masters, give to the slaves that which is righteous and that which is equal, knowing that you also have a Master in heaven.

² Now those having believing masters, let them not despise them because they are brothers; but rather, let them serve them, because those being helped by the good service are believing and beloved. Teach and exhort these things.

¹⁶ no longer as a slave, but above a slave, a beloved brother, especially to me, but how much more to you, both in the flesh and in the Lord.
