²⁴ O wretched man I am! Who will deliver me out of this body of death?

⁴ Blessed are those mourning, for they will be comforted.

⁶ Blessed are those hungering and thirsting for righteousness, for they will be filled.

¹⁸ “The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, because of which He has anointed Me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent Me to proclaim deliverance to the captives, and recovery of sight to the blind, to send forth in deliverance the oppressed,

⁶ knowing this, that our old man was crucified with Him, so that the body of sin might be annulled, that we are no longer enslaved to sin.

² For the Law of the Spirit of life has set you free in Christ Jesus from the Law of sin and death.

¹³ For if you live according to flesh, you are about to die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live.

²⁶ Now likewise also, the Spirit joins to help us in weakness; for we do not know the things which we should pray for as it behooves, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession with inexpressible groanings.

⁸ For we do not want you to be ignorant brothers, as to our affliction having happened in Asia, that we were weighed against excessively, beyond our power, so as for us to despair even to live. ⁹ Indeed we had in ourselves the sentence of death, in order that we should not be trusting in ourselves, but in God, the One raising the dead, ¹⁰ who has delivered us from such a great death and will deliver us, in whom we have hope that also He will deliver us still,

⁷ and the surpassingness of the revelations. Therefore, that I should not become conceited, a thorn in my flesh was given to me, a messenger of Satan, that he might buffet me, so that I should not become conceited. ⁸ Three times I begged the Lord for this, that it might depart from me. ⁹ And He said to me, “My grace suffices you, for the power is perfected in weakness.” Therefore will I boast rather most gladly in my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me.

¹¹ in whom also you were circumcised with the circumcision made without hands in the removal of the body of the flesh, in the circumcision of Christ,

¹⁸ The Lord will deliver me from every evil deed and will bring me safely into His heavenly kingdom, to whom is the glory unto the ages of the ages. Amen.

¹⁴ who gave Himself for us, that He might redeem us from all lawlessness and might purify to Himself a people specially chosen, zealous of good works. ¹⁵ and might set free those who all their time to live were subject to slavery through fear of death.

⁴ And He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more nor mourning nor crying nor pain; they will be no more, because the former things have passed away.”
