⁵ He saved us, not by works in righteousness that we did, but according to His mercy, through the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit,

⁵⁰ And His mercy is to generations and generations, to those fearing Him.

⁵⁴ He has helped Israel His servant, remembering mercy,

⁷² to fulfill mercy toward our fathers, and to remember His holy covenant,

⁷⁸ through the affections of compassion of our God, in which the Sunrise will visit us from on high,

²⁷ And answering, he said, “‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your strength, and with all your mind’ and ‘Your neighbor as yourself.’” ²⁸ And He said to him, “You have answered correctly. Do this and you will live.” ²⁹ But desiring to justify himself, he said to Jesus, “And who is my neighbor?”

³ Jesus answered and said to him, “Truly, truly, I say to you, except anyone be born from above, he is not able to see the kingdom of God.” ⁴ Nicodemus says to Him, “How is a man able to be born, being old? Is he able to enter into the womb of his mother a second time, and to be born?” ⁵ Jesus answered, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless anyone be born of water and of the Spirit, he is not able to enter into the kingdom of God.

²⁰ Therefore by works of the Law, not any flesh will be justified before Him; for through the Law is knowledge of sin.

²⁸ Therefore we reckon a man to be justified by faith apart from works of the Law.

⁵ However, to the one not working, but believing on the One justifying the ungodly, his faith is reckoned for righteousness,

¹¹ for they not yet having been born nor having done anything good or evil, so that the purpose of God according to election might stand,

¹⁶ So then, it is not of the willing, nor of the running, but of God showing mercy.

³⁰ What then will we say? That Gentiles, not pursuing righteousness, have attained righteousness, and righteousness that is by faith;

⁶ And if by grace, it is no longer from works; otherwise grace no longer would be grace.

² And do not be conformed to this age, but be transformed by the renewing of the mind, for you to prove what is the good and well-pleasing and perfect will of God.

¹¹ And some of you were such. But you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified, in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.

¹⁶ nevertheless knowing that a man is not justified by works of law, except through faith from Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Christ Jesus that we may be justified by faith from Christ, and not by works of the Law, because by works of the Law not any flesh will be justified.

¹⁶ Now the promises were spoken to Abraham and to his seed. It does not say “and to seeds” as of many but “and to your seed” as of One, who is Christ. ¹⁷ Now I say this: The Law, having come four hundred and thirty years afterward, does not annul the covenant having been confirmed beforehand by God, so as to nullify the promise. ¹⁸ For if the inheritance is by the Law, it is no longer by a promise. But God has granted it to Abraham through a promise. ¹⁹ Why then the Law? It was added on account of transgressions, until the seed to whom promise has been made should have come, having been ordained through angels in the hand of a mediator. ²⁰ However, a mediator is not of one; but God is one. ²¹ Is the Law therefore contrary to the promises of God? Never may it be! For if a law had been given being able to impart life, then righteousness indeed would have emerged from out of the Law.

⁶ to the praise of the glory of His grace, which He has freely given us in the Beloved One, ⁷ in whom we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of trespasses, according to the riches of His grace

⁴ But God, being rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us,

⁸ For by grace you are saved through faith, and this not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, ⁹ not as a result of works, so that no one may boast.

²³ and to be renewed in the spirit of your mind,

²⁶ so that He might sanctify her, having cleansed her by the washing of water by the word,

¹⁰ and having put on the new, the one being renewed in knowledge according to the image of the one having created him,

⁹ the One having saved us and having called us with a holy calling, not according to our works, but according to His own purpose and grace, having been given us in Christ Jesus before time eternal,

⁴ But when the kindness and the love of mankind of God our Savior appeared,

¹⁶ Therefore we should come with boldness to the throne of grace, so that we may receive mercy and may find grace for help in time of need.

⁶ and then having fallen away—to restore them again to repentance, crucifying in themselves the Son of God and subjecting Him to open shame.

³ Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the One according to His great mercy having begotten us again to a living hope, through the resurrection of Jesus Christ out from the dead,

¹⁰ who once were not a people, but now are the people of God; those not having received mercy, but now having received mercy.

²¹ which also prefigures the baptism now saving you, not a putting away of the filth of flesh, but the demand of a good conscience toward God, through the resurrection of Jesus Christ,
