²⁵ If a man should at all sin against another, then shall they pray for him to the Lord; but if a man sin against the Lord, who shall intercede for him? But they hearkened not to the voice of their father, because the Lord would by all means destroy them.

¹ Hear, my children, the instruction of a father, and give attention to know understanding. ² For I give you a good gift; forsake not my law. ³ For I also was a son obedient to my father, and loved in the sight of my mother: ⁴ who spoke and instructed me, saying, Let our speech be fixed in your heart, keep our commandments, forget them not: ⁵ and do not neglect the speech of my mouth. ⁶ And forsake it not, and it shall cleave to you: love it, and it shall keep you. ⁷ (TEXT OMITTED) ⁸ Secure it, and it shall exalt you: honor it, that it may embrace you; ⁹ that it may give unto your head a crown of grace, and may cover you with a crown of delight. ¹⁰ Hear, my son, and receive my words, and the years of your life shall be increased, that the resources of your life may be many. ¹¹ For I teach you the ways of wisdom; and I cause you to go in right paths. ¹² For when you go, your steps shall not be hindered; and when you run, you shall not be distressed. ¹³ Take hold of my instruction; do not let it go, but keep it for yourself, for your life. ¹⁴ Go not in the ways of the ungodly, neither covet the ways of transgressors.

²⁰ My son, attend to my speech, and incline your ear to my words, ²¹ that your fountains may not fail you; keep them in your heart. ²² For they are life to those that find them, and health to all their flesh.

⁷ He that reproves evil men shall get dishonor to himself, and he that rebukes an ungodly man shall disgrace himself. ⁸ Rebuke not evil men, lest they should hate you: rebuke a wise man, and he will love you.

⁶ You shall seek wisdom with bad men, and shall not find it, but discretion is easily available with the prudent.

⁵ A fool scorns his father's instruction, but he that keeps his commandments is more prudent. In abounding righteousness is great strength, but the ungodly shall utterly perish from the earth.

¹⁴ Therefore hear the word of the Lord, you afflicted men, and you princes of this people that is in Jerusalem. ¹⁵ Because you have said, We have made a covenant with Hades, and agreements with death; if the rushing storm should pass, it shall not come upon us; we have made falsehood our hope, and by falsehood shall we be protected.

⁸ For there is a cup in the hand of the Lord, full of unmingled wine; and He has turned it from side to side, but its dregs have not been wholly poured out; all the sinners of the earth shall drink them.

¹¹ A talkative man shall not prosper on the earth: evils shall hunt the unrighteous man to destruction.

¹¹ If they should exhort you, saying, Come with us, partake in blood, and let us unjustly hide the just man in the earth: ¹² and let us swallow him alive, as Hades would, and remove the memorial of him from the earth: ¹³ let us seize on his valuable property, and let us fill our houses with spoils:

¹⁸ For they that are concerned in murder store up evils for themselves; and the overthrow of transgressors is evil.

³¹ Therefore shall they eat the fruits of their own way, and shall be filled with their own ungodliness.

¹⁷ For these live upon the bread of ungodliness, and are drunken with the wine of transgression.

¹¹ There is a fountain of life in the hand of a righteous man, but destruction shall cover the mouth of the ungodly.

¹⁴ The soul of a man shall be filled with good from the fruits of his mouth, and the recompense of his lips shall be given to him.

²⁰ A man fills his belly with the fruits of his mouth, and he shall be satisfied with the fruits of his lips.

²⁷ And you shall say to them, Thus said the Lord Almighty: Drink, and be drunk; and you shall vomit and fall, and shall by no means rise, because of the sword which I send among you. ²⁸ And it shall come to pass, when they refuse to take the cup out of your hand, to drink it, that you shall say, Thus said the Lord; You shall surely drink. ²⁹ For I am beginning to afflict the city which is called by My name, and you shall by no means be held guiltless: for I am calling a sword upon all that dwell upon the earth. ³⁰ And you shall prophesy against them these words, and shall say: The Lord shall speak from on high, from His sanctuary He will utter His voice. He will pronounce a declaration on His place; and these shall answer like men gathering grapes. And destruction is coming on them that dwell on the earth, ³¹ even upon the extreme part of the earth; for the Lord has a controversy with the nations, He is pleading with all flesh, and the ungodly are given to the sword, says the Lord.

⁸ Because you have plundered many nations, all the nations that are left shall plunder you, because of the blood of men, and the sins of the land and city, and of all that dwell in it.

¹⁷ For the ungodliness of Lebanon shall cover you, and distress because of wild beasts shall dismay you, because of the blood of men, and the sins of the land and city, and of all that dwell in it.

⁶ Because they shed the blood of saints and prophets, and You gave them blood to drink. They deserve it."

¹ For the end, A Song of David, to Jeduthun. I said, I will take heed to my ways, that I sin not with my tongue; I set a guard on my mouth, while the sinner stood in my presence.

¹⁹ By a multitude of words you shall not escape sin, but if you refrain your lips you will be prudent.

¹³ For the sin of his lips a sinner falls into snare, but a righteous man escapes from them. ^(12:13A) He whose looks are gentle shall be pitied, but he that contends in the gates will afflict souls.

⁷ A fool's mouth is ruin to him, and his lips are a snare to his soul.

²¹ Life and death are in the power of the tongue, and they that rule it shall eat the fruits thereof.

²³ He that keeps his mouth and his tongue keeps his soul from trouble.

³⁶ But I say to you, that for every idle word men may speak, they will give account of it in the day of judgment. ³⁷ For by your words you shall be justified, and by your words you shall be condemned."

²⁶ If anyone among you thinks he is religious, and does not bridle his tongue but deceiving his heart, the religion of this man is useless.

² For we all stumble in many ways. If anyone does not stumble in word, he is a mature man, able also to bridle the whole body. ³ Consider that we put bits in horses' mouths that they may obey us, and we guide their whole body. ⁴ Consider also the ships: although they are so large and are driven by fierce winds, they are guided by a very small rudder wherever the impulse of the pilot desires. ⁵ Even so the tongue is a small member and it boasts great things. See how great a forest a little fire kindles! ⁶ And the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity. Thus the tongue is set among our members, as that which defiles the whole body, and sets on fire the course of nature; and it is set on fire by hell. ⁷ For every kind of both beasts and birds, of both reptiles and sea creatures, is tamed and has been tamed by mankind. ⁸ But no man can tame the tongue. It is an unrestrainable evil, full of deadly poison. ⁹ With it we bless our God and Father, and with it we curse men, who are created according to the likeness of God. ¹⁰ Out of the same mouth come blessings and curses. My brothers, these things ought not to be so. ¹¹ The spring does not pour forth from the same opening both the sweet and the bitter water, does it? ¹² It is not possible, my brothers, for a fig tree to make olives, or a vine to make figs, is it? Thus no spring is able to produce both salt and sweet water.

¹⁰ Who has calculated the seed of Jacob, and who shall number the families of Israel? Let my soul die with the souls of the righteous, and let my seed be as their seed.

¹⁴ Then shall they be increased in a fine old age; and they shall be prosperous; that they may declare

² your ear shall hearken to wisdom; you shall also apply your heart to understanding, and shall apply it to the instruction of your son. ³ For if you shall call to wisdom, and utter your voice for understanding; ⁴ and if you shall seek it as silver, and search diligently for it as for treasures; ⁵ then shall you understand the fear of the Lord, and find the knowledge of God. ⁶ For the Lord gives wisdom, and from His presence come knowledge and understanding, ⁷ and He treasures up salvation for them that walk uprightly: He will protect their way; ⁸ that He may guard the righteous ways: and He will preserve the way of them that fear Him. ⁹ Then shall you understand righteousness and judgment, equity and every good path.

³⁴ watching daily at my doors, waiting at the posts of my entrances.

⁴ Poverty brings a man low, but the hands of the vigorous make rich. ^(10:4A) A son who is instructed shall be wise, and shall use the fool for a servant.

²⁵ Every sincere soul is blessed, but a passionate man is not graceful.

¹¹ He that tills his own land shall be satisfied with bread; but they that pursue vanities are void of understanding. ^(12:11A) He that enjoys himself in banquets of wine, shall leave dishonor in his own strongholds.

²⁴ The hand of chosen men shall easily obtain rule, but the deceitful shall be for a prey.

¹³ A sluggard when sent on a journey says, There is a lion in the road, and there are murderers in the streets.

²⁵ An unbelieving man judges rashly, but he that trusts in the Lord will act carefully.

¹¹ and your God shall be with you continually, and you shall be satisfied according as your soul desires; and your bones shall be made fat, and shall be as a well-watered garden, and as a fountain from which the water has not failed.

²⁷ Work not for the food which perishes, but for the food which abides unto everlasting life, which the Son of Man will give to you; for upon Him God the Father has set His seal."

¹¹ But we desire that each one of you show the same diligence to the full assurance of hope until the end,

⁵ But also for this very reason, making every effort, provide with your faith virtue, and with virtue knowledge, ⁶ and with knowledge self-control, and with self-control perseverance, and with perseverance godliness, ⁷ and with godliness brotherly love, and with brotherly love, love. ⁸ For if these things belong to you and are increasing, it makes you neither barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. ⁹ For he who lacks these things is blind, being shortsighted, having forgotten the cleansing of his past sins. ¹⁰ Therefore, brothers, be even more diligent to make your calling and election sure, for by doing these things you shall by no means stumble at any time. ¹¹ For in this way the entrance will be supplied to you richly into the eternal kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

¹⁶³ I hate and abhor unrighteousness; but I love Your law.

³⁵ The wise shall inherit glory, but the ungodly have exalted their own dishonor.

¹⁷ The eye of the haughty, an unjust tongue, hands shedding innocent blood,

⁸ Remove vanity and falsehood far from me, and give me neither wealth nor poverty, but appoint to me what is needful and sufficient:

⁹ then those of you that escape among the nations where they were carried captive shall remember Me; (I have sworn an oath against their heart that goes a-whoring from Me, and their eyes that go a-whoring after their practices) and they shall mourn over themselves for all their abominations.

⁴³ And you shall there remember your ways, and your devices in which you defiled yourselves; and you shall bewail yourselves for all your wickedness.

³¹ And you shall remember your evil ways and your practices that were not good, and you shall be hateful in your own sight for your transgressions and for your abominations.

² And many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to reproach and everlasting shame.

⁸ And I will cut off three shepherds in one month, and My soul shall grieve over them, for their souls cried out against Me.

²⁵ Therefore, having put off falsehood, "Let each one speak truth with his neighbor," for we are members of one another.

⁹ Do not lie to one another, since you have stripped off the old man with his practices,

⁸ But the cowardly, and unbelieving, and sinners, and abominable, and murderers, and fornicators, and drug users, and idolaters, and all who are false shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death."

²³ I will seek after the gods of Damascus that attack me. And he said, Forasmuch as the gods of the king of Syria themselves strengthen them, therefore will I sacrifice to them, and they will help me. But they became a stumbling block to him, and to all Israel.

² He that walks blameless, and works righteousness, who speaks truth in his heart.

²¹ The harmless and upright joined themselves to me; for I waited for You, O Lord.

¹ A Psalm of David. Judge me, O Lord; for I have walked in my innocence; and hoping in the Lord I shall not be moved.

²² Iniquities ensnare a man, and everyone is bound in the chains of his own sins.

³ When a just man dies he leaves regret, but the destruction of the ungodly is speedy, and causes joy.

⁵ Righteousness traces out blameless paths, but ungodliness encounters unjust dealing. ⁶ The righteousness of upright men delivers them, but transgressors are caught in their own destruction.

¹² A righteous man understands the hearts of the ungodly, and despises the ungodly for their wickedness.

²⁴ There are some who scatter their own, and make it more, and there are some also who gather, yet have less.

⁹ Better is a man in dishonor serving himself, than one honoring himself and wanting bread.

¹¹ Wealth gotten hastily with iniquity is diminished, but he that gathers for himself with godliness shall be increased. The righteous man is merciful, and lends.

¹ Send forth your bread upon the face of the water, for you shall find it after many days. ² Give a portion to seven, and also to eight; for you know not what evil there shall be upon the earth.

²¹ So is he who accumulates treasure for himself, and is not rich toward God."

³³ Sell your possessions and give alms; make for yourselves money bags which do not grow old, an unfailing treasure in the heavens, where a thief does not come near, nor does a moth destroy.

¹¹ The Pharisee stood and prayed thus with himself, 'God, I thank You that I am not like other men--swindlers, unjust, adulterers, or even like this tax collector. ¹² I fast twice a week, I tithe on all things, as many as I acquire.' ¹³ And the tax collector, standing far away, would not so much as lift his eyes towards heaven, but beat on his chest, saying, 'God, be merciful to me a sinner!' ¹⁴ I say to you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the other; for everyone who exalts himself shall be humbled, and he who humbles himself shall be exalted."

⁸ You are already full! You are already rich! You have reigned as kings without us; and I wish that indeed you did reign, in order that we also might reign with you!

¹⁰ We are fools for Christ's sake, but you are wise in Christ! We are weak, but you are strong! You are distinguished, but we are despised! ¹¹ Even unto this present hour we both hunger and thirst, and we are naked, and beaten, and homeless.

⁷ But we have this treasure in clay vessels, so that the extraordinary character of the power may be of God and not of us;

¹⁰ as sorrowful, yet always rejoicing; as poor, yet making many rich; as having nothing, and yet possessing all things.

⁵ Listen, my beloved brothers. Did God not choose the poor of the world to be rich in faith, and heirs of the kingdom which He promised to those that love Him?

¹⁹ promising to them freedom, while they themselves are slaves of corruption; for by whom anyone has been defeated, by this one also he has been enslaved.

⁹ "I know your works, and your tribulation, and your poverty (but you are rich); and I know the blasphemy of those who say they are Jews and are not, but are a synagogue of Satan.

¹⁷ Because you say, 'I am wealthy, and have become rich, and have need of nothing'--and do not know that you are wretched, miserable, poor, blind, and naked,

³⁰ And if a ransom should be imposed on him, he shall pay for the ransom of his soul as much as they shall lay upon him.

¹⁴ And he carried away the inhabitants of Jerusalem, and all the captains, and the mighty men, taking captive ten thousand prisoners, and every craftsmen and smith; and only the poor of the land were left.

¹² But the captain of the guard left some of the poor of the land to be vinedressers and farmers.

⁴ And the devil answered and said to the Lord, Skin for skin! All that a man has he will give as a ransom for his life.

⁶ They that trust in their strength, and boast themselves in the multitude of their wealth — ⁷ a brother does not redeem, shall a man redeem? He shall not give to God a ransom for himself, ⁸ or the price for the redemption of his soul, though he labor forever, ⁹ and live to the end, so that he should not see corruption. ¹⁰ When he shall see wise men dying, the fool and the senseless one shall perish together; and they shall leave their wealth to strangers.

³⁵ He will not forego his enmity for any ransom: neither will he be reconciled by many gifts.

⁸ But ten men were found there, and they said to Ishmael, Do not kill us, for we have treasures in the field, wheat and barley, honey and oil. So he passed by, and did not kill them in the midst of their brothers.

¹² And I will leave in you a meek and lowly people;

²⁶ For what is a man profited if he gains the whole world, but forfeits his soul? Or what will a man give as an exchange for his soul?

¹⁸ knowing that you were not redeemed with corruptible things, like silver or gold, from your futile way of life handed down from your forefathers, ¹⁹ but with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb blameless and spotless,

³⁶ But to his son I will give the two remaining tribes, that My servant David may have an establishment continually before Me in Jerusalem, the city which I have chosen for Myself, to put My name there.

⁵ But the light of the ungodly shall be quenched, and their flame shall not go up. ⁶ His light shall be darkness in his habitation, and his lamp shall be put out with him.

¹⁷ Nevertheless, the lamp of the ungodly also shall be put out, and destruction shall come upon them, and pangs of vengeance shall seize them.

³ As when His lamp shone over my head; when by His light I walked through darkness.

¹¹ Light has sprung up for the righteous, and gladness for the upright in heart.

⁴ To the upright light has sprung up in darkness; he is pitiful, and merciful, and righteous.

¹⁸ But the ways of the righteous shine like light; they go forth and shine, until the day has fully come.

²⁰ The lamp of him that reviles father or mother shall be put out, and his eyes shall see darkness.

²⁰ For the evil man shall have no posterity, and the light of the wicked shall be put out.

¹⁰ Who is among you that fears the Lord? Let him hearken to the voice of His servant; you that walk in darkness, and have no light, trust in the name of the Lord, and stay upon God. ¹¹ Behold, you all kindle a fire, and feed a flame; walk in the light of your fire, and in the flame which you have kindled. This has happened to you for my sake; you shall lie down in sorrow.

¹³ Then the king said to the servants, 'Tie him up hands and feet, take him away, and cast him into outer darkness; there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.'

⁸ And the foolish said to the wise, 'Give us some of your oil, for our lamps are going out.'

¹ And the men of Ephraim said to Gideon, What is this that you have done to us, in that you did not call us when you went to fight with Midian? And they contended with him sharply. ² And he said to them, What have I now done in comparison of you? Is not the gleaning of Ephraim better than the vintage of Abiezer? ³ The Lord has delivered into your hand the princes of Midian, Oreb and Zeeb; and what could I do in comparison of you? Then was their spirit calmed toward him, when he spoke this word.

¹ And the men of Ephraim assembled themselves, and passed on to the north, and said to Jephthah, Why did you go over to fight with the children of Ammon, and did not call us to go with you? We will burn your house over you with fire. ² And Jephthah said to them, I and my people and the children of Ammon were very much engaged in war; and I called for you, and you did not save me out of their hand. ³ And I saw that you were no helper, and I put my life in my hand, and passed on to the sons of Ammon; and the Lord delivered them into my hand: and why then have you come up against me this day to fight with me? ⁴ And Jephthah gathered all the men of Gilead, and fought with Ephraim; and the men of Gilead struck Ephraim, because they that had escaped of Ephraim said, You are of Gilead in the midst of Ephraim and in the midst of Manasseh. ⁵ And Gilead took the fords of the Jordan before Ephraim; and they that escaped of Ephraim said to them, Let us go over. And the men of Gilead said, Are you an Ephraimite? And he said, No. ⁶ Then they said to him, Say now Stachys. And he did not correctly pronounce it. So they took him, and killed him at the fords of the Jordan; and there fell at that time of Ephraim forty-two thousand.

¹⁰ And the young men who had been brought up with him, who stood before his face, spoke to him, saying, Thus shall you say to this people who have spoken to you, saying, Your father made our yoke heavy, and would you now lighten it from off us. Thus shall say to them: My little finger shall be thicker than my father's loins. ¹¹ And whereas my father put a heavy yoke on you, I also will add to your yoke: my father chastised you with whips, but I will chastise you with scorpions.

¹⁶ And all Israel saw that the king did not hearken to them. And the people answered the king, saying, What portion have we in David? Neither have we any inheritance in the son of Jesse. Depart, O Israel, to your tents; now feed your own house, David.

¹⁰ You have attacked and wounded Edom, and your heart has lifted you up: stay at home and glorify yourself; for why are you quarrelsome to your hurt? So both you and Judah with you will fall.

¹⁵ The ways of fools are right in their own eyes, but a wise man heeds counsel. ¹⁶ A fool declares his wrath the same day, but a prudent man hides his own disgrace.

¹⁴ Rightful rule gives power to words, but sedition and strife precede poverty.

²⁰ Hear, son, the instruction of your father, that you may be wise in your latter days.

²⁴ A bold and self-willed and insolent man is called a pest, and he that remembers injuries is a transgressor.

⁸ Get not suddenly into a quarrel, lest you repent at last.

²⁸ For which of you, intending to build a tower, does not first sit down and count up the cost, whether he has the resources to complete it? ²⁹ Lest perhaps after he has laid a foundation, and is not able to finish, all those who see it begin to mock him, ³⁰ saying, 'This man began to build and was not able to finish.' ³¹ Or what king, going to engage another king in battle, does not sit down first and consider whether he is able with ten thousand to meet him who comes against him with twenty thousand? ³² Otherwise, while the other is still far away, he sends a delegation and asks the terms for peace.

²⁴ And there became also a dispute among them, as to which of them seemed to be greater.

¹ Now in those days, as the disciples were increasing in number, there arose a complaint from the Greek speaking Jews against the Aramaic speaking Jews, because their widows were being overlooked in the daily distribution. ² Then the twelve summoned the multitude of the disciples and said, "It is not pleasing to us that we should forsake the word of God to serve tables. ³ Therefore, brothers, select seven men from among you, of good reputation, full of the Holy Spirit and wisdom, whom we may appoint for this need. ⁴ But we will faithfully engage in prayer and in the ministry of the word." ⁵ And the word was pleasing before all the congregation, and they chose Stephen, a man full of faith and the Holy Spirit, and Philip, Prochorus, Nicanor, Timon, Parmenas, and Nicolas, a proselyte from Antioch,

⁴ he is puffed up, understanding nothing, but is morbidly concerned with disputes and word battles, from which come envy, strife, slanders, evil suspicions,

¹⁴ But if you have bitter jealousy and strife in your heart, do not boast and lie against the truth. ¹⁵ This wisdom is not that which comes down from above, but is earthly, sensual, demonic. ¹⁶ For where jealousy and strife exist, there unrest and every evil deed are.

¹ From where come wars and disputes among you? Is it not from here, from your lusts, which war in your members?

⁵ Or do you think that the Scripture says in vain, "The Spirit who dwells in us yearns jealously"? ⁶ But He gives more grace. Therefore He says: "God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble."

⁹ I wrote to the church, but Diotrephes, who loves the preeminence over them, does not receive us. ¹⁰ On account of this, if I come, I will call to mind his works which he does, slandering us with evil words. And not being content with that, he does not receive the brothers, and hinders those who desire to, casting them out of the church.

²⁸ And let him lodge in desolate cities, and enter into houses without inhabitant: and what they have prepared, others shall carry away. ²⁹ Neither shall he grow rich, nor shall his substance remain: he shall not cast a shadow upon the earth.

¹⁵ His wealth unjustly collected shall be vomited up; a messenger of wrath shall drag him out of his house.

¹⁹ For he has broken down the houses of many mighty men, and he has plundered a house, though he built it not. ²⁰ There is no security to his possessions; he shall not be saved by his desire. ²¹ There is nothing remaining of his provisions, therefore his goods shall not flourish. ²² But when he shall seem to be just satisfied, he shall be straitened; and all distress shall come upon him.

¹⁶ Even if he should gather silver as dust, and prepare gold as clay, ¹⁷ all these things shall the righteous gain, and the true-hearted shall possess His wealth.

² You shall eat the labors of your hands. Blessed are you, and it shall be well with you.

² Treasures shall not profit the lawless, but righteousness shall deliver from death.

²² A good man shall inherit children's children, and the wealth of ungodly men is laid up for the just. ²³ The righteous shall spend many years in wealth, but the unrighteous shall perish suddenly.

²¹ A portion hastily gotten at first shall not be blessed in the end.

²³ Do you thoroughly know the number of your flock, and pay attention to your herds? ²⁴ For a man has not strength and power forever; neither does he transmit it from generation to generation. ²⁵ Take care of the herbage in the field, and you shall cut grass, and gather the mountain hay; ²⁶ that you may have sheep's wool for clothing; pay attention to the land, that you may have lambs. ²⁷ My son, you have from me words very useful for your life, and for the life of your servants.

⁸ He that increases his wealth by usury and unjust gains, gathers it for him that pities the poor.

²⁰ A man worthy of credit shall be much blessed, but the wicked shall not be unpunished.

²² An envious man makes haste to be rich, and knows not that the merciful man will have the mastery over him.

¹⁴ And that wealth shall perish in an evil trouble, and the man begets a son, and there is nothing in his hand.

¹¹ The partridge utters her voice; she gathers eggs which she did not lay. So is a man gaining his wealth unjustly: in the midst of his days his riches shall leave him, and at his latter end he will be a fool.

⁶ Shall not all these take up a parable against him? And a proverb to tell against him? And they shall say, Woe to him that multiplies to himself the possessions which are not his! How long? And who heavily loads his yoke. ⁷ For suddenly there shall arise up those that bite him, and those that plot against you shall awake, and you shall be a plunder to them.

¹ Listen now, you rich, weep and howl at your miseries which are coming upon you! ² Your riches have decayed, and your garments have become moth-eaten. ³ Your gold and silver have become corroded, and their poison will be a witness against you and will eat your flesh like fire. You stored up treasure in the last days. ⁴ Indeed, the wages of the laborers who reaped your fields, which were kept back by you, cry out, and the cries of the reapers have entered into the ears of the Lord of Hosts. ⁵ You lived luxuriously upon the earth and you lived riotously, you nourished your hearts as in a day of slaughter.

⁶ And Sarah said, The Lord has made laughter for me, for whoever shall hear shall rejoice with me. ⁷ And she said, Who shall say to Abraham that Sarah suckles a child? For I have born a child in my old age.

³⁰ And Israel said to Joseph, After this I will gladly die, since I have seen your face, for you are yet living.

²⁶ And she said, I pray, my lord, as your soul lives, I am the woman that stood in your presence with you while praying to the Lord. ²⁷ For I have prayed for this child; and the Lord has given me my request that I asked of Him. ²⁸ And I lend him to the Lord all his days that he lives, a loan to the Lord: and she said,

¹⁵ But I shall appear in righteousness before Your face: I shall be satisfied when Your glory appears.

² And He brought me up out of a pit of misery, and from miry clay; and He set my feet upon a rock, and established my steps. ³ And He put a new song into my mouth, even a hymn to our God; many shall see it and fear, and shall hope in the Lord.

¹ For the end, A Psalm of instruction, for the sons of Korah. As the deer earnestly desires the fountains of water, so my soul earnestly longs for You, O God. ² My soul has thirsted for the living God; when shall I come and appear before God? ³ My tears have been bread to me day and night, while they daily said to me, Where is your God?

³ I am weary of crying, my throat has become hoarse; my eyes have failed by my waiting on my God.

⁸¹ My soul faints for Your salvation; I have hoped in Your words. ⁸² My eyes failed from searching for Your word, saying, When will You comfort me? ⁸³ For I have become as a bottle in the frost; yet I have not forgotten Your statutes.

⁷ Hear me speedily, O Lord; my spirit has failed; do not hide Your face from me, lest I be like them that go down to the pit.

¹⁸ She is a tree of life to all that lay hold of her, and she is a secure help to all that stay themselves on her, as on the Lord.

³⁰ Out of the fruit of righteousness grows a tree of life, but the souls of transgressors are cut off before their time.

¹⁹ The desires of the godly gladden the soul, but the works of the ungodly are far from knowledge.

⁸ I have charged you, O daughters of Jerusalem, by the powers and the virtues of the field: if you should find my kinsman, what are you to say to him? That I am wounded with love.

²⁹ "Lord, now You are releasing Your servant in peace, according to Your word; ³⁰ for my eyes have seen Your salvation

²² Therefore you also now have sorrow; but I will see you again and your heart will rejoice, and your joy no one will take from you.

² In the middle of its street, and on both sides of the river was the tree of life, producing twelve fruits, each yielding its fruit every month. And the leaves of the tree are for the healing of the nations.

³¹ for he has despised the word of the Lord, and broken His commands; that soul shall be utterly destroyed, his sin is upon him.

⁹ Why have you despised the word of the Lord, to do that which is evil in His eyes? You have slain Uriah the Hittite with the sword, and you have taken his wife to be your wife, and you have slain him with the sword of the children of Ammon. ¹⁰ Now therefore the sword shall never depart from your house, because you have despised Me, and you have taken the wife of Uriah the Hittite, to be your wife.

¹⁶ Nevertheless they sneered at His messengers, and despised His words, and mocked His prophets, until the wrath of the Lord rose up against His people, till there was no remedy.

³ Now then let us make a covenant with our God, to put away all the wives, and their offspring, as you advise:

¹¹ For Your servant keeps to them; in the keeping of them there is great reward.

¹³ He has blessed them that fear the Lord, both small and great.

¹⁶⁵ Great peace have they that love Your law; and there is no stumbling block to them.

²⁵ but you disdained my counsels, and disregarded my reproofs;

³⁰ neither would they attend to my counsels, but derided my reproofs. ³¹ Therefore shall they eat the fruits of their own way, and shall be filled with their own ungodliness.

²¹ Evil shall pursue sinners, but good shall overtake the righteous.

² For all these things are Mine, says the Lord; and to whom will I have respect, but to the humble and meek, and the man that trembles at My words?

² that Azariah son of Hoshaiah spoke, and Johanan, the son of Kareah, and all the men who had spoken to Jeremiah, saying, It is false! The Lord has not sent you to us, saying, Enter not into Egypt to dwell there.

¹⁶ As for the word which you have spoken to us in the name of the Lord, we will not listen to you. ¹⁷ For we will surely perform every word that shall proceed out of our mouth, to burn incense to the queen of heaven, and to pour drink offerings to her, as we and our fathers have done, and our kings and princes, in the cities of Judah, and in the streets of Jerusalem. And so we were filled with bread, and were well, and saw no evils.

¹³ And I said to the house of Israel in the wilderness, Walk in My commandments: but they walked not in them, and they rejected My ordinances, which if a man shall do, he shall even live in them; and they grievously profaned My Sabbaths. And I said that I would pour out My wrath upon them in the wilderness, to consume them.

¹⁶ because they rejected My ordinances, and walked not in My commandments, but profaned My Sabbaths, and went after the imaginations of their hearts.

²⁴ because they kept not My ordinances, and rejected My commandments, and profaned My Sabbaths, and their eyes went after the imaginations of their fathers.

¹⁶ Thus they spoke, those that feared the Lord, everyone to his neighbor: and the Lord gave heed, and listened, and He wrote a book of remembrance before him for them that feared the Lord and reverenced His name.

¹² Rejoice and be exceedingly glad, for great is your reward in heaven, for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you.

³¹ But he said to him, 'If they do not hear Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded should one rise from the dead.' "

²⁸ Anyone disregarding the law of Moses dies without compassions on the testimony of two or three witnesses. ²⁹ By how much worse punishment, do you think, will he be deemed worthy who has trampled the Son of God underfoot, and has regarded as common the blood of the covenant, by which he was sanctified, and has insulted the Spirit of grace?

⁸ Look to yourselves, lest we should lose those things for which we worked, but that we should receive a full reward.

⁶ the pangs of death surrounded me, the agonies of death prevented me. ⁷ When I am afflicted I will call upon the Lord, and will cry to my God, and He shall hear my voice out of His temple, and my cry shall come into His ears.

⁵ The pangs of hell came round about me: the snares of death prevented me.

³ The pangs of death compassed me; the dangers of hell found me; I found affliction and sorrow.

¹¹ For in this way you shall live long, and years of your life shall be added to you.

²⁷ The commandment of the Lord is a fountain of life, and it causes men to turn aside from the snare of death.

²⁴ The thoughts of the wise are ways of life, that he may turn aside and escape from hell.

¹⁷ The paths of life turn aside from evil, and the ways of righteousness are length of life. He that receives instruction shall be in prosperity, and he that regards reproofs shall be made wise. He that keeps his ways preserves his own soul, and he that loves his life will spare his mouth.

²² Understanding is a fountain of life to its possessors, but the instruction of fools is evil.

¹⁴ And David was prudent in all his ways, and the Lord was with him. ¹⁵ And Saul saw that he was very wise, and he was afraid of him. ¹⁶ And all Israel and Judah loved David, because he came in and went out before the people.

⁹ where your fathers tested Me, and tried Me, and saw My works. ¹⁰ Forty years was I grieved with this generation, and said, They do always err in their heart, and they have not known My ways. ¹¹ So I swore in My wrath, They shall not enter into My rest.

¹⁰ The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, and all that act accordingly have a good understanding; His praise endures forever and ever.

⁴ so shall you find favor; and provide things honest in the sight of the Lord, and of men.

¹⁹ But the ways of the ungodly are like darkness; they know not how they stumble.

³⁵ An understanding servant is acceptable to a king, and by his good behavior he removes disgrace.

¹⁰ The instruction of the simple is known by them that pass by, but they that hate reproofs die disgracefully.

¹⁹ Your apostasy shall correct you, and your wickedness shall reprove you. Know then, and see, that your forsaking Me has been bitter to you, says the Lord your God; and I have taken no pleasure in you, says the Lord your God.

⁵² And Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and men.

¹⁰ and delivered him out of all his afflictions, and gave him favor and wisdom before Pharaoh, king of Egypt; and he made him ruler over Egypt and all his house.

²¹ So what fruit did you have then of which things you are now ashamed? For the end of those things is death.

¹⁰ And Nabal sprang up, and answered the servants of David, and said, Who is David? And who is the son of Jesse? Nowadays there are an abundance of servants who depart, everyone from his master. ¹¹ And shall I take my bread, and my wine, and my beasts that I have slain for my shearers, and shall I give them to men of whom I know not who they are?

¹⁷ And now consider what you will do; for mischief is determined against our lord and against his house; and he is a vile character, and one cannot speak to him.

²⁵ Let not my lord take to heart this pestilent man, for according to his name, so is he — Nabal is his name, and folly is with him! But I, your maidservant, did not see the servants of my lord whom you sent.

⁵ The good man is he that pities and lends; he will direct his affairs with judgment.

²² Lying lips are an abomination to the Lord, but he that deals faithfully is accepted by Him. ²³ An understanding man is a throne of wisdom, but the heart of fools shall meet with curses.

² The tongue of the wise knows what is good, but the mouth of the foolish speaks evil things.

³ Yea, and whenever a fool walks down the road, his heart will fail him, and all that he thinks of is folly.

¹³ Behold, My servant shall understand, and be exalted, and glorified exceedingly.

¹⁶ "Behold, I am sending you forth like sheep in the midst of wolves. Therefore be as wise as serpents and innocent as doves.

¹⁹ For your obedience has become known to all. Therefore I rejoice on your behalf; but I want you to be wise in what is good, and innocent to what is evil.

²⁰ Brothers, do not be children in your understanding; rather, in malice be children, but in understanding be men.

¹⁷ Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the will of the Lord is.

²⁶ As a sour grape is hurtful to the teeth, and smoke to the eyes, so iniquity hurts those that practice it.

¹³ As a fall of snow in the time of harvest is good against heat, so a faithful messenger refreshes those that send him; for he helps the souls of his employers.

²³ The north wind raises clouds; so an impudent face provokes the tongue.

⁶ He that sends a message by a foolish messenger procures for himself a reproach from his own ways.

¹³ And in the prophets of Samaria I have seen lawless deeds; they prophesied by Baal, and led My people Israel astray. ¹⁴ Also in the prophets of Jerusalem I have seen horrible things: as they committed adultery, and walked in lies, and strengthened the hands of many, that they should not return each from his evil way. They have all become to Me as Sodom, and its inhabitants as Gomorrah. ¹⁵ Therefore thus says the Lord: Behold, I will feed them with pain, and give them bitter water to drink; for from the prophets of Jerusalem has defilement gone forth into all the land. ¹⁶ Thus says the Lord Almighty, Hearken not to the words of the prophets, for they frame a vain vision for themselves; they speak from their own heart, and not from the mouth of the Lord.

²⁸ The prophet who has a dream, let him tell his dream; and he in whom is My word spoken to him, let him tell My word truly. What is the chaff to the wheat? So are My words, says the Lord.

¹⁸ When I say to the wicked, You shall surely die; and you have not warned him, to give warning to the wicked, to turn from his ways, that he should live; that wicked man shall die in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at your hand.

⁷ And you, son of man, I have set you as a watchman for the house of Israel, and you shall hear a word from My mouth. ⁸ When I say to the sinner, You shall surely die; if you speak not to warn the wicked from his way, the wicked himself shall die in his iniquity, but his blood will I require at your hand.

² Now furthermore what is required among the stewards, is that one be found faithful.

¹⁷ For we are not as the rest, corrupting the word of God; but as of sincerity, but as from God, we speak in the sight of God in Christ.

²⁰ Now then, we serve as ambassadors for Christ, as though God were appealing through us: we implore you on Christ's behalf, be reconciled to God.

¹² And I give thanks to the One who empowers me, Christ Jesus our Lord, because He considered me faithful, putting me into the ministry,

² And the things which you have heard from me through many witnesses, commit these to faithful men who will be competent to teach others also.

⁵ The righteous shall chasten me with mercy, and reprove me: but let not the oil of the sinner anoint my head: for yet shall my prayer also be in their pleasures.

⁹ lest you give away your life to others, and your substance to the merciless; ¹⁰ lest strangers be filled with your strength, and your labors come into the houses of strangers; ¹¹ And you repent at last, when the flesh of your body is consumed, ¹² and you shall say, How have I hated instruction, and my heart avoided reproofs! ¹³ I heard not the voice of him that instructed me, and taught me, neither did I incline my ear. ¹⁴ I was almost in all evil in the midst of the congregation and assembly.

⁹ Give an opportunity to a wise man, and he will be wiser: instruct a just man, and he will receive more instruction.

¹ He that loves instruction loves sense, but he that hates reproofs is a fool.

¹³ He that slights a matter shall be slighted of it, but he that fears the commandment has health of soul. ^(13:13A) To a crafty son there shall be nothing good, but a wise servant shall have his way prosperous.

²⁵ See that you do not refuse Him who speaks. For if they did not escape, having refused Him who warned them, how much more shall we not escape if we turn away from Him who warns from heaven;

⁴⁸ Moreover thus said the king, Blessed be the Lord God of Israel, who has this day appointed one of my seed sitting on my throne, and my eyes have seen it.

²⁸ And He said to man, Behold, godliness is wisdom: and to abstain from evil is understanding.

¹ For the end, A Psalm of David. O Lord, the king shall rejoice in Your strength; and in Your salvation he shall greatly exalt. ² You have granted him the desire of his soul, and have not withheld from him the request of his lips. Pause.

¹⁴ Turn away from evil, and do good; seek peace, and pursue it.

²⁷ Turn aside from evil, and do good; and dwell forever.

⁷ Be not wise in your own conceit; but fear God, and depart from all evil.

¹² Better is he that begins to help heartily, than he that promises and leads another to hope; for a good desire is a tree of life.

²⁷ A righteous man is an abomination to an unrighteous man, and the direct way is an abomination to the sinner.

⁴ It was as a little while after I parted from them, that I found him whom my soul loves: I held him, and did not let him go, until I brought him into my mother's house, and into the chamber of her that conceived me.

⁷ I have fought the good fight. I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. ⁸ Finally, there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give to me on that Day, and not only to me, but also to all those who have loved His appearing.

¹⁴ And I said to him, "My lord, you know." So he said to me, "These are those who come out of the Great Tribulation, and have washed their robes and they made them white in the blood of the Lamb. ¹⁵ Therefore they are before the throne of God, and they serve Him day and night in His temple. And He that sits on the throne shall dwell among them. ¹⁶ They shall neither hunger anymore nor thirst anymore; nor shall the sun by any means strike them, nor any scorching heat; ¹⁷ because the Lamb who is in the midst of the throne shepherds them, and He leads them to the springs of the waters of life. And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes."

³² And it came to pass, when the captains of the chariots saw Jehoshaphat king of Judah, that they said, this seems to be the king of Israel. And they compassed him about to fight against him; and Jehoshaphat cried out.

² And Jehu the prophet, the son of Hanani went out to meet him, and said to him, King Jehoshaphat, do you help a sinner, or act friendly towards one hated of the Lord? Therefore has wrath come upon you from the Lord.

My son, let not evil counsel overtake you, ¹⁷ of her who has forsaken the instruction of her youth, and has forgotten the covenant of God. ¹⁸ For she has fixed her house near death, and guided her wheels near Hades with the giants. ¹⁹ None that go by her shall return, neither shall they take hold of right paths, for they have not apprehended of the years of life. ²⁰ For had they gone in good paths, they would have easily found the paths of righteousness.

²² And he followed her, being gently led on, as that of an ox led to the slaughter, and as a dog to bonds, or as a deer shot in the liver with an arrow: ²³ and he hastens as a bird into a snare, not knowing that he is running for his life.

²⁷ Her house is the way of hell, leading down to the chambers of death.

⁶ Forsake folly, that you may reign forever; and seek wisdom, and improve understanding by knowledge.

⁷ Tell me, you whom my soul loves, where you tend your flock, where you cause them to rest at noon, lest I become as one that is veiled by the flocks of your companions. ⁸ If you know not yourself, you fair one among women, go forth by the footsteps of the flocks, and feed your little goats by the shepherd's tents.

⁴² And they were continuing in the teaching of the apostles, and in fellowship, and in the breaking of bread, and in prayers.

³³ Do not be deceived: "Evil associations corrupts good habits." ³⁴ Awake to righteousness, and do not sin, for some have no knowledge of God. I speak this to your shame.

¹⁴ Do not become unequally yoked with unbelievers; for what participation is there for righteousness with lawlessness? And what communion is there for light with darkness? ¹⁵ And what agreement is there for Christ with Belial? Or what part is there for a believer with an infidel? ¹⁶ And what union is there for the temple of God with idols? ²⁴ And let us consider one another for the stirring up of love and of good works,

⁴ And I heard another voice from heaven saying, "Come out of her, my people, lest you participate in her sins, and lest you receive of her plagues.

⁷ Have you not sinned if you have brought it rightly, but not rightly divided it? Be still, to you shall be his submission, and you shall rule over him.

²³ But if you will not do so, you will sin against the Lord; and you shall know your sin, when afflictions shall come upon you.

¹⁰ Many are the scourges of the sinner; but him that hopes in the Lord, mercy shall surround him.

¹⁰ Woe to their soul, for they have devised an evil counsel against themselves, saying against themselves, Let us bind the just, for he is burdensome to us; therefore shall they eat the fruits of their works. ¹¹ Woe to the transgressor! Evils shall happen to him according to the works of his hands.

⁴ And when the natives saw the creature hanging from his hand, they said to one another, "Certainly this man is a murderer, whom though he was rescued from the sea, justice does not permit to continue living."

⁷ to those who by the endurance of good works are seeking glory and honor and incorruption--eternal life. ⁸ But to those who are contentious, and who disobey the truth, but obey unrighteousness--indignation and wrath, ⁹ ~ tribulation and anguish, upon every soul of man that works evil, of the Jew first and also of the Greek; ¹⁰ but glory, honor, and peace to everyone that works good, both to the Jew first and to the Greek.

⁷ And I will establish My covenant between you and your seed after you, to their generations, for an everlasting covenant, to be your God, and the God of your seed after you. ⁸ And I will give to you and to your seed after you the land in which you sojourn, even all the land of Canaan for an everlasting possession, and I will be to them a God.

¹² And now give not your daughters to their sons, and take not of their daughters for your sons, neither shall you ever seek their peace or their goods, that you may be strong, and eat the good of the land, and transmit it as an inheritance to your children forever.

¹² Who is the man that fears the Lord? He shall instruct him in the way which he has chosen. ¹³ His soul shall dwell in prosperity; and his seed shall inherit the earth.

²⁵ I was once young, indeed I am now old; yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed seeking bread.

²⁸ The children of Your servants shall dwell securely, and their seed shall prosper forever.

² His seed shall be mighty in the earth; the generation of the upright shall be blessed.

⁶ And may you see your children's children. Peace be upon Israel.

²⁶ For God has given wisdom, knowledge, and joy to the man who is good in His sight, but He has given to the sinner trouble, to add and to heap up, that He may give to him that is good before God; for this is also vanity and grasping for the wind.

⁶ Go to the ant, O sluggard; and see, and emulate his ways, and become wiser than he. ⁷ For whereas he has no leader, nor anyone to compel him, and is under no master, ⁸ he prepares food for himself in the summer, and lays up abundant supplies in harvest. ^(6:8A) Or go to the bee, and learn how diligent she is, and how earnestly she is engaged in her work; ^(6:8B) whose labors kings and private men use for health, and she is desired and respected by all: ^(6:8C) though weak in body, she is advanced by honoring wisdom. ⁹ How long will you lie, O sluggard? And when will you awake out of sleep? ¹⁰ You sleep a little, and you rest a little, and you slumber a short time, and you fold your arms over your breast a little. ¹¹ Then poverty comes upon you as an evil traveler, and your need as a swift courier. ^(6:11A) But if you be diligent, your harvest shall arrive as a fountain, and poverty shall flee away as a bad courier.

¹⁸ He that plants a fig tree shall eat the fruits of it; so he that waits on his own master shall be honored.

¹⁹ He that tills his own land shall be satisfied with bread, but he that follows idleness shall have plenty of poverty.

⁹ Also the abundance of the earth is for everyone. The king is dependent on the tilled field.

⁵ He that keeps the commandment shall not know an evil thing; and the heart of the wise knows the time of judgment. ⁶ Because for every matter there is a time and judgment; for the knowledge of a man is great to him. ⁷ Even the stork in the heaven knows her time, also the turtledove and wild swallow; the sparrows observe the times of their coming in; but this My people knows not the judgments of the Lord. ⁸ How will you say, We are wise, and the law of the Lord is with us? In vain have the scribes used a false pen. ⁹ The wise men are ashamed, and alarmed, and taken; because they have rejected the word of the Lord; what wisdom is there in them? ¹⁰ Therefore will I give their wives to others, and their fields to new inheritors; and they shall gather their fruits, says the Lord.

¹² for whom the Lord loves, He rebukes, and scourges every son whom He receives.

³⁶ But they that sin against me act wickedly against their own souls, and they that hate me love death.

¹⁸ Chasten your son, for so he shall be hopeful; and be not exalted in your soul to haughtiness.

¹⁵ Folly is attached to the heart of a child, but the rod and instruction are then far from him.

¹³ Refrain not from chastening a child, for if you beat him with the rod, he shall not die. ¹⁴ For you shall beat him with the rod, and shall deliver his soul from death.

¹⁵ Stripes and reproofs give wisdom, but an erring child disgraces his parents.

¹⁷ Chasten your son, and he shall give you rest, and he shall give honor to your soul.

²⁶ If anyone comes to Me and does not hate his father and mother, wife and children, brothers and sisters, yes, and his own life also, he cannot be My disciple.

⁶ For whom the LORD loves He disciplines, and scourges every son whom He receives." ⁷ It is for discipline that you endure; God deals with you as with sons. For what son is there whom a father does not discipline? ⁸ But if you are without discipline, of which all have become partakers, then you are illegitimate and not sons.

⁴⁸ And you shall serve your enemies, which the Lord will send forth against you, in hunger, and in thirst, and in nakedness, and in the desire of all things; and you shall wear upon your neck a yoke of iron until He has destroyed you.

²⁴ They shall be consumed with hunger and the devouring of birds, and there shall be irremediable destruction: I will send forth against them the teeth of wild beasts, with the rage of serpents creeping on the ground.

¹⁰ The rich have become poor and hungry; but they that seek the Lord diligently shall not lack any good thing. Pause.

³ Hope in the Lord, and do good; and dwell on the land, and you shall be fed with the wealth of it.

¹⁶ A little is better to the righteous than the abundant wealth of sinners.

¹⁸ The Lord knows the ways of the upright; and their inheritance shall be forever. ¹⁹ They shall not be ashamed in an evil time; and in days of famine they shall be satisfied.

¹¹ Then poverty comes upon you as an evil traveler, and your need as a swift courier. ^(6:11A) But if you be diligent, your harvest shall arrive as a fountain, and poverty shall flee away as a bad courier.

³ The Lord will not famish a righteous soul, but He will overthrow the life of the ungodly.

³⁴ But if you do this, your poverty will come speedily; and your need like a swift courier.

¹³ Therefore thus says the Lord: Behold, My servants shall eat, but you shall hunger; behold, My servants shall drink, but you shall thirst; behold, My servants shall rejoice, but you shall be ashamed; ¹⁴ behold, My servants shall exalt with joy, but you shall cry for the sorrow of your heart, and shall howl for the vexation of your spirit.

¹⁰ For even when we were with you, we commanded you this: If anyone is not willing to work, neither let him eat!

⁸ For bodily exercise is profitable a little, but godliness is profitable for all things, having promise of the present life and of the coming life.

⁵ Let your way of life be without loving money, being satisfied with what you have. For He Himself has said, "By no means shall I desert you, nor in any way shall I forsake you;"
