²⁴ Since I called, and you did not hear, and I spoke at length, and you gave no heed;

²⁰ You will hide them in the secret of Your presence from the vexation of man; You will screen them in a tabernacle from the contradiction of tongues.

² Why did I come, and there was no man? Why did I call, and there was none to hearken? Is not My hand strong to redeem? Or can I not deliver? Behold, by My rebuke I will dry up the sea, and make rivers a wilderness; and their fish shall be dried up because there is no water, and shall die of thirst.

¹² I will deliver you up to the sword, you shall all fall by slaughter; for I called you, and you hearkened not; I spoke, and you refused to hear; and you did evil in My sight, and chose the things in which I do not delight.

⁴ I also will choose their mockeries, and will recompense their sins upon them; because I called them, and they did not hearken to Me; I spoke, and they heard not; and they did evil before Me, and chose the things in which I did not delight.

¹³ And now, because you have done all these deeds, and I spoke to you, but you hearkened not to Me; and I called you, but you answered not.

¹⁸ Therefore will I deal with them in wrath: My eye shall not spare, nor will I have any mercy.

¹¹ But they refused to attend, and madly turned their back, and made their ears heavy, so that they should not hear. ¹² And they made their heart disobedient, so as not to hearken to My law, and the words which the Lord Almighty sent forth by His Spirit by the former prophets: so there was great wrath from the Lord Almighty.

⁵ "But not caring, they went away, one to his own field, another to his business. ⁶ And the rest seized his servants, mistreated them, and killed them.

³⁷ "O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, you who kills the prophets and stones those who are sent to her! How often would I have gathered your children together, as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, but you were not willing! ³⁸ Behold, your house is left to you desolate.

³⁰ by extending Your hand to heal, and that signs and wonders may occur through the name of Your holy Servant Jesus."

²¹ But to Israel he says: "the whole day long I have stretched out My hands to a disobedient and contrary people."

²⁵ See that you do not refuse Him who speaks. For if they did not escape, having refused Him who warned them, how much more shall we not escape if we turn away from Him who warns from heaven; ²⁶ whose voice then shook the earth; but now He has promised, saying, "Yet once more I shake not only the earth, but also the heaven."
