¹ "And to the angel of the church in Sardis write, 'These things says He that has the seven Spirits of God and the seven stars: "I know your works, that you have a name, that you live, and you are dead. ² Be watchful, and keep that which remains, which you were about to cast out, for I have not found your works perfect before My God. ³ Remember therefore how you have received and heard, and hold fast, and repent. Therefore if you will not watch, I will come upon you like a thief, and by no means shall you know what hour I will come upon you. ⁴ You have a few names in Sardis who have not defiled their garments; and they will walk with Me in white, because they are worthy. ⁵ He who overcomes shall be clothed in white garments, and by no means shall I erase his name from the Book of Life; but I will confess his name before My Father and before His angels. ⁶ He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches." ' ⁷ "And to the angel of the church in Philadelphia write, 'These things says the Holy One, the True One, " He who has the key of David, He that opens and no man shuts, except He that opens, and no man shall open." ⁸ "I know your works. Behold, I have set before you an open door, and no man can shut it; because you have a little strength and have kept My word, and you have not denied My name. ⁹ Behold, I will give those of the synagogue of Satan, those who say they are Jews and are not, but they are lying—behold, I will compel them to come and bow down at your feet, and they shall know that I have loved you. ¹⁰ Because you have kept My command to persevere, I also will keep you from the hour of testing which is about to come upon the whole world, to test those that dwell upon the earth. ¹¹ I am coming quickly! Hold fast what you have, that no man may take your crown. ¹² He who overcomes, I will make him a pillar in the temple of My God, and by no means shall he go out any longer. And I will write on him the name of My God and the name of the city of My God, the new Jerusalem, which comes down from heaven from My God. And My new name. ¹³ He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches." ' ¹⁴ "And to the angel of the church in Laodicea write, 'These things says the Amen, the faithful and true Witness, the beginning of the creation of God: ¹⁵ "I know your works, that you are neither cold nor hot. I wish that you were cold or hot. ¹⁶ Therefore, since you are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spew you out of My mouth. ¹⁷ Because you say, 'I am wealthy, and have become rich, and have need of nothing'--and do not know that you are wretched, miserable, poor, blind, and naked, ¹⁸ I counsel you to buy from Me gold having been tried by fire, so that you may become rich; and white robes, so that you may be clothed, and the shame of your nakedness may not appear; and eye salve, so that you may anoint your eyes, in order that you may see. ¹⁹ As many as I love, I rebuke and discipline. Be zealous therefore, and repent. ²⁰ Behold, I stand at the door and I am knocking. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, then I will come in to him and I will dine with him, and he with Me. ²¹ He that overcomes, I will grant to him to sit with Me on My throne, as I also overcame and sat down with My Father on His throne. ²² He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches." ' "

²⁴ for this my son was dead and came to life, and he was lost and was found.' And they began to be merry.

³² But it was necessary to be merry and to rejoice, because your brother was dead and is alive again, and was lost and is found.' "

¹⁶ And out of His fullness we have all received, and grace upon grace.

³³ I did not know Him, but He who sent me to baptize with water said to me, 'Upon whom you see the Spirit descending and abiding on Him, this is He who baptizes with the Holy Spirit.'

³⁴ For He whom God has sent speaks the words of God, for God does not give the Spirit by measure.

³⁷ Now on the last day, the great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried out, saying, "If anyone thirsts, let him come to Me and drink. ³⁸ He that believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, out of his belly will flow rivers of living water." ³⁹ (But this He spoke concerning the Spirit, whom those believing in Him were about to receive; for the Holy Spirit was not yet given, because Jesus was not yet glorified.)

²⁶ "But when the Helper comes, whom I shall send to you from the Father, the Spirit of truth who proceeds from the Father, He will testify about Me. ²⁷ And you also will testify, because you have been with Me from the beginning.

²² And when He had said this, He breathed on them, and said to them, "Receive the Holy Spirit.

³³ "Therefore having being exalted to the right hand of God, and having received from the Father the promise of the Holy Spirit, He poured out this which you now see and hear.

¹ And you He made alive, being dead in transgressions and sins,

⁵ even when we were dead in transgressions, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved),

¹³ And you, being dead in your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh, He made you alive together with Him, having forgiven us all our trespasses,

⁶ But she who is living for pleasure is dead while she lives.

²⁶ For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.

¹¹ searching for who or what kind of time the Spirit of Christ in them was revealing when He testified beforehand the sufferings of Christ and the glories which were to follow: ¹² These are stains in your love feasts, while they feast with you without fear, caring for themselves, they are waterless clouds being carried along by winds; late autumn trees unfruitful, twice having died, having been uprooted,

⁴ John, to the seven churches which are in Asia: Grace to you and peace from Him who is, and who was, and who is coming, and from the seven-fold Spirit who is before His throne,

¹¹ saying, "That which you see, write in a book and send to the seven churches: to Ephesus, to Smyrna, to Pergamos, to Thyatira, to Sardis, to Philadelphia, and to Laodicea."

¹⁶ He had in His right hand seven stars, out of His mouth proceeded a sharp two-edged sword, and His countenance was as the sun shining in its strength.

²⁰ The mystery of the seven stars which you saw in My right hand, and the seven golden lampstands: The seven stars are the angels of the seven churches, and the seven lampstands which you saw are the seven churches.

⁹ "I know your works, and your tribulation, and your poverty (but you are rich); and I know the blasphemy of those who say they are Jews and are not, but are a synagogue of Satan.

¹³ "I know your works, and where you live, where Satan's throne is. And you hold fast to My name, and did not deny My faith in the days in which Antipas was My faithful witness, who was killed among you, where Satan is dwelling.

¹⁹ "I know your works, and love, and faith and service, and your endurance; and your last works are greater than the first.

⁵ And from the throne proceeded lightnings and voices and thunders. And seven torches of fire were burning before His throne, which are seven spirits of God;

⁶ And I saw in the midst of the throne and of the four living beings, and in the midst of the elders, a Lamb standing as if slain, having seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven spirits of God sent forth into all the earth.

²⁸ And command Joshua, and strengthen him, and encourage him; for he shall go before the face of this people, and he shall give them the inheritance of all the land which you have seen.

⁴ And it came to pass in the time of Solomon's old age, that his heart was not perfect with the Lord his God, as was the heart of David his father.

³ And he walked in the sins of his father which he wrought in his presence, and his heart was not perfect with the Lord his God, as was the heart of his father David.

² And he did that which was right in the sight of the Lord, but not with a perfect heart.

⁴ and have supported the failing with words, and have imparted courage to feeble knees. ⁵ Yet now that pain has come upon you, and touched you, you are troubled.

³ Be strong, you relaxed hands and feeble knees.

¹⁰ See how they are all blinded; they have not known; they are dumb dogs that will not bark; dreaming of rest, loving to slumber.

¹² And I will declare your righteousness, and your sins, which shall not profit you.

⁶ And on your walls, O Jerusalem, have I set watchmen all day and all night, who shall never cease making mention of the Lord. ⁷ For there is none like You, when He shall have established, and made Jerusalem a praise on the earth.

⁸ As I live, says the Lord God, surely because My sheep became a prey, and My sheep became meat to all the wild beasts of the field, because there were no shepherds, and the shepherds sought not out My sheep, and the shepherds fed themselves, but fed not My sheep, ⁹ for this cause, O shepherds, ¹⁰ thus says the Lord God: Behold, I am against the shepherds; and I will require My sheep at their hands, and will turn them back that they shall not feed My sheep, and the shepherds shall no longer feed them; and I will deliver My sheep out of their mouth, and they shall no longer be meat for them.

¹⁶ I will seek that which is lost, and I will recover the stray one, and will bind up that which was broken, and will strengthen the fainting, and will guard the strong, and will feed them with judgment.

²⁷ Tekel; it has been weighed in the balance, and found wanting.

¹⁶ For behold, I will raise up a shepherd against the land: he shall not visit that which is perishing, and he shall not seek that which is scattered, and he shall not heal that which is bruised, nor guide that which is whole: but he shall devour the flesh of the choice ones, and shall dislocate the joints of their necks.

² Whenever therefore you do charitable giving, do not sound a trumpet before you as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, so that they may be praised by men. Assuredly I say to you, they receive their reward in full. ³ But when you do charitable giving, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, ⁴ so that your charitable giving may be in secret; and your Father, who sees in secret, will Himself reward you openly.

⁵ But all their works they do in order to be seen by men. They make their phylacteries broad and they enlarge the borders of their garments.

²⁸ Thus also you outwardly appear righteous to men, but inside you are full of hypocrisy and lawlessness. ²⁹ Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! Because you build the tombs of the prophets and adorn the monuments of the righteous, ³⁰ and say, 'If we had lived in the days of our fathers, we would not have been partakers with them in the blood of the prophets.' ³¹ "So that you testify against yourselves that you are sons of those who killed the prophets. ³² And you, fill up then, the measure of your fathers' guilt. ³³ Serpents! Brood of vipers! How shall you escape from the condemnation of hell? ³⁴ Therefore, behold, I send you prophets, wise men, and scribes: some of them you will kill and you will crucify, and some of them you will flog in your synagogues and you will persecute from city to city, ³⁵ so that on you may come all the righteous blood being shed on the earth, from the blood of righteous Abel to the blood of Zechariah, son of Berechiah, whom you murdered between the temple and the altar. ³⁶ Assuredly I say to you, all these things shall come upon this generation. ³⁷ "O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, you who kills the prophets and stones those who are sent to her! How often would I have gathered your children together, as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, but you were not willing! ³⁸ Behold, your house is left to you desolate.

⁴² Watch therefore, for you do not know in what hour your Lord is coming. ⁴³ But know this, that if the master of the house had known in what hour the thief was coming, he would have kept watch, and he would not have allowed his house to be broken into. ⁴⁴ Therefore you also be ready, for in that hour you think not, the Son of Man comes. ⁴⁵ "Who then is a faithful and wise servant, whom his master appointed over his household, to give them food in due season? ⁴⁶ Blessed is that servant whom his master, when he comes, will find so doing. ⁴⁷ Assuredly I say to you that he will make him ruler over all his possessions. ⁴⁸ But if that evil servant should say in his heart, 'My master is delaying to come,' ⁴⁹ "and should begin to beat his fellow servants, and to eat and drink with the drunkards, ⁵⁰ the master of that servant will come on a day which he does not expect, and in an hour which he does not know, ⁵¹ and he will cut him in two, and will appoint his share with the hypocrites. There shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

¹³ "Watch therefore, for you do not know the day nor the hour in which the Son of Man is coming.

³³ Take heed, stay awake and pray; for you do not know when the time is. ³⁴ It is like a man going away on a journey, having left his house and having given authority to his servants, and to each his work, and commanded the doorkeeper that he should watch. ³⁵ Watch therefore, for you do not know when the master of the house is coming--at evening, or at midnight, or at dawn, or early in the morning-- ³⁶ lest having come suddenly, he should find you sleeping. ³⁷ And the things I say to you, I say to all: watch!"

³¹ And the Lord said, "Simon, Simon! Behold, Satan has asked for you, that he may sift you as wheat. ³² But I have prayed for you, that your faith should not fail; and when you have turned back, strengthen your brothers."

²³ After having spent some time there, he went out, going through in order the Galatian region and the Phrygian region, strengthening all the disciples.

²⁸ Therefore take heed to yourselves and to all the flock, in which the Holy Spirit placed you as overseers, to shepherd the church of the Lord, and of God, which He purchased with His own blood. ²⁹ For I know this, that savage wolves will come in after my departure, not sparing the flock. ³⁰ Also from among you yourselves will arise men speaking things having been distorted, in order to draw away the disciples after them. ³¹ Therefore be alert, remembering that for three years, night and day I did not cease, with tears, exhorting each one.

¹ I charge you therefore before God and the Lord Jesus Christ, who is going to judge the living and the dead in accordance with His appearing and His kingdom: ² preach the word! Be ready in season and out of season. Reprove, rebuke, exhort, with all patience and teaching. ³ For there will be a time when they will not put up with sound doctrine, but according to their own lusts, they will heap up for themselves teachers, tickling their ears, ⁴ and they will turn their ears away from the truth, and be turned aside to myths.

⁷ Now the end of all things is at hand; therefore be of sound mind and self-controlled in your prayers.

⁸ Be sober, be watchful; your adversary the devil walks about as a roaring lion, seeking someone he may devour.

⁴ Nevertheless I have this against you, that you have left your first love.

¹⁵ Behold, I am coming like a thief. Blessed is he who watches, and guards his garments, lest he should walk naked and they should see his shame."

⁶¹ Then you shall remember your way, and shall be utterly dishonored when you receive your elder sisters with your younger ones, and I will give them to you for building up, but not by your covenant. ⁶² And I will establish My covenant with you; and you shall know that I am the Lord, ⁶³ that you may remember, and be ashamed, and may no more be able to open your mouth for your shame, when I am reconciled to you for all that you have done, says the Lord.

⁴³ And you shall there remember your ways, and your devices in which you defiled yourselves; and you shall bewail yourselves for all your wickedness.

³¹ And you shall remember your evil ways and your practices that were not good, and you shall be hateful in your own sight for your transgressions and for your abominations.

⁴² Watch therefore, for you do not know in what hour your Lord is coming. ⁴³ But know this, that if the master of the house had known in what hour the thief was coming, he would have kept watch, and he would not have allowed his house to be broken into.

³³ Take heed, stay awake and pray; for you do not know when the time is.

² For you yourselves know accurately that the day of the Lord so comes as a thief in the night.

⁴ But you, brothers, are not in darkness, so that this Day should overtake you as a thief. ⁵ You are all sons of light and sons of the day. We are not of the night nor of darkness. ⁶ Therefore let us not sleep, as others do, but let us watch and be sober.

²⁰ O Timothy! Guard that which was committed to your trust, turning away from the profane and empty babblings and opposing views of what is falsely called "knowledge,"

¹³ Hold to the pattern of sound words which you have heard from me, in faith and love which are in Christ Jesus.

¹ On account of this we must give the more earnest heed to the things we have heard, lest we drift away.

¹³ But I consider it right, as long as I am in this tent, to stir you up by a reminder,

¹ This already, beloved, is the second letter I write to you, in both of which I stir up your pure mind by a reminder,

¹⁰ But the day of the Lord shall come as a thief in the night, in which the heavens shall pass away with a rushing noise, and the elements, burning with heat, shall be dissolved, both the earth and the works that are in it shall be burned up.

⁵ Remember therefore from where you have fallen, and repent and do the first works; but if not, I am coming to you quickly and I will remove your lampstand out of its place, unless you repent.

²¹ And I gave her time so that she might repent, and she does not wish to repent of her fornication. ²² Behold, I am casting her into a sickbed, and those who commit adultery with her into great tribulation, if they do not repent of her works.

²⁵ Only hold fast what you have till I come.

¹¹ I am coming quickly! Hold fast what you have, that no man may take your crown.

¹⁹ As many as I love, I rebuke and discipline. Be zealous therefore, and repent.

¹⁸ And you shall leave in Israel seven thousand men, all the knees which had not bowed themselves to Baal, and every mouth which had not worshipped him.

¹⁵ And Mordecai went forth clothed in the royal apparel, and wearing a golden crown, and a diadem of fine purple linen. And the people in Susa saw it and rejoiced.

¹⁴ When the heavenly One scatters kings upon it, they shall be made snow-white in Zalmon.

⁸ Let your garments be always white; and let not oil be lacking on your head.

⁹ And if the Lord of Sabaoth had not left us a seed, we would have become like Sodom, and been made like Gomorrah.

¹ Awake, awake, Zion; put on your strength, O Zion; and put on your glory, O Jerusalem the holy city; for the uncircumcised and unclean shall pass through you no more.

⁶ Their web shall not become a garment, nor shall they at all clothe themselves with their works; for their works are works of iniquity.

³ that there should be given to them that mourn in Zion glory instead of ashes, the oil of joy to the mourners, the garment of glory for the spirit of heaviness; and they shall be called generations of righteousness, the planting of the Lord for glory.

¹⁰ and they shall greatly rejoice in the Lord. Let my soul rejoice in the Lord; for He has clothed me with the robe of salvation, and the garment of joy; He has put a turban on me as on a bridegroom, and adorned me with ornaments as a bride.

⁶ and we have all become as unclean, and all our righteousness is as a filthy rag; and we have fallen as leaves because of our iniquities; thus the wind shall carry us away.

^{3 (3:4)} Now Joshua was clothed in filthy garments, and stood before the Angel. ^{4 (3:5)} And the Lord answered and spoke to those who stood before Him, saying, Take away the filthy garments from him. And He said to him, Behold, I have taken away your iniquities, and clothed you with a long robe, ^{5 (3:6)} and place a clean turban upon his head. So they placed a clean turban upon his head, and clothed him with garments. And the Angel of the Lord stood by. ^{6 (3:7)} And the Angel of the Lord testified to Joshua, saying,

¹¹ And whatever city or village you enter, inquire who in it is worthy, and stay there until you go out.

⁵ And entering into the tomb, they saw a young man sitting on the right clothed with a white robe, and they were alarmed.

³⁵ But those who have been counted worthy to attain that age, and the resurrection from the dead, neither marry nor are given in marriage;

³⁶ Watch therefore, praying always that you may be counted worthy to escape everything that is about to happen, and to stand before the Son of Man."

¹⁵ And in those days Peter, rising up in the midst of the disciples (altogether the number of names was about a hundred and twenty), said,

⁴ But what does the divine response say to him? "I have reserved for Myself seven thousand men who have not bowed the knee to Baal." ⁵ Even so then, at this present time also there is a remnant according to the election of grace. ⁶ And if by grace, it is no longer of works; otherwise grace is no longer grace. But if it is of works, it is no longer grace; otherwise work is no longer work.

⁵ which is evidence of the righteous judgment of God, so that you may be counted worthy of the kingdom of God, on behalf of which you also suffer;

²³ but others save with fear, snatching them out of the fire, hating even the garment having been stained by the flesh.

⁴ Around the throne were twenty-four thrones, and on the thrones I saw the twenty-four elders sitting, having been clothed in white robes; and on their heads were crowns of gold.

¹¹ Then a long white robe was given to them, and it was said to them that they should rest yet a while, until also their fellow servants and their brothers, who were about to be killed as also they were, should complete their course.

⁹ After these things I looked, and behold, a great multitude which no man could number, out of every nation, and from tribes and peoples and languages, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, having been clothed in long white robes, with palm branches in their hands.

¹³ Then one of the elders answered, saying to me, "Who are these arrayed in long white robes, and where did they come from?" ¹⁴ And I said to him, "My lord, you know." So he said to me, "These are those who come out of the Great Tribulation, and have washed their robes and they made them white in the blood of the Lamb.

¹³ In that day there was a great earthquake, and a tenth of the city fell, and seven thousand men were killed. And the rest became fearful and gave glory to the God of heaven.

⁸ And to her it was granted that she should be dressed in fine linen, bright and pure, for the fine linen is the righteous deeds of the saints.

¹⁴ And the armies in heaven were following Him on white horses, having been dressed in fine linen, white and clean.

³² And now if You will forgive their sin, forgive; and if not, blot me out of Your book, which You have written. ³³ And the Lord said to Moses, If anyone has sinned against Me, I will blot them out of My book.

¹⁴ And now I shall utterly destroy them, and I will blot out their name from under heaven, and will make of you a nation great and strong, and more numerous than this.

²⁸ Let them be blotted out of the book of the living, and let them not be written with the righteous.

¹³ Let his children be given up to utter destruction; in one generation let his name be blotted out.

¹⁷ And they shall be Mine, says the Lord Almighty, in the day which I appoint for a peculiar possession; and I will make choice of them, as a man makes choice of his son that serves him.

³² "Therefore whoever who will confess Me before men, I also will confess Him before My Father who is in heaven.

⁸ "Also I say to you, whoever confesses Me before men, him the Son of Man also will confess before the angels of God.

³ Yes, I ask you also, true companion, help these women who labored together with me in the gospel, and with Clement also, and the rest of my fellow workers, whose names are in the Book of Life.

²⁴ Now to Him who is able to keep them from stumbling, and to make you stand before His glory, blameless with exultation,

⁷ He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To him that overcomes will I give to eat of the tree of life, which is in the Paradise of My God." '

⁴ You have a few names in Sardis who have not defiled their garments; and they will walk with Me in white, because they are worthy.

⁸ And all those who dwell on the earth shall worship him, whose name is not written in the Book of Life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.

⁸ The Beast which you saw was, and is not, and is about to ascend out of the bottomless pit and go to perdition. And those who dwell on the earth shall marvel, whose name is not written in the Book of Life from the foundation of the world, when they see the Beast that was, and is not, and shall be present.

¹² And I saw the dead, the great and the small, standing before the throne, and they opened the books. And another Book was opened, which is the Book of Life. And the dead were judged by the things having been written in the books, according to their works.

¹⁵ And if anyone was not found having been written in the Book of Life, he was cast into the Lake of Fire.

²⁷ But there shall by no means enter into it any common thing, and the one doing an abomination and a lie, but only those who are written in the Lamb's Book of Life.

¹⁹ And if anyone takes away from the words of the book of this prophecy, may God take away his part from the tree of Life, and from the holy city, and from the things having been written in this book.

¹⁰ And if He should overthrow all things, who will say to Him, What have You done?

¹⁴ If He should cast down, who will build up? If He should shut up against man, who shall open?

¹⁰ because You will not leave my soul in Hades, neither will You allow Your Holy One to see corruption.

¹⁸ for our help is of the Lord; and of the Holy One of Israel, our King.

¹⁷ The Lord is righteous in all His ways, and holy in all His works.

³ And one cried to the other, and they said, Holy, holy, holy is the Lord of hosts; the whole earth is full of His glory.

²² And I will give him the glory of David; and he shall rule, and there shall be none to speak against him; and I will give him the key of the house of David upon his shoulder. And he shall open, and there shall be none to shut; and he shall shut, and there shall be none to open.

¹¹ and turn us aside from this way; remove from us this path, and remove from us the oracle of Israel.

¹⁴ Fear not, Jacob, and you Israel few in number; I have helped you, says your God, He that redeems you, O Israel.

¹⁶ and you shall winnow them, and the wind shall carry them away, and a tempest shall scatter them; but you shall rejoice in the holy ones of Israel.

²⁰ that they may see, and know, and perceive, and understand together, that the hand of the Lord has done these works, and the Holy One of Israel has displayed them.

⁴ Your deliverer is the Lord of hosts, the Holy One of Israel is His name.

¹⁷ Thus says the Lord that delivered you, the Holy One of Israel; I am your God, I have shown you how you should find the way in which you should walk.

⁷ Thus says the Lord that delivered you, the God of Israel, Sanctify him that despises his life, him that is abhorred by the nations that are the servants of princes; kings shall behold him, and princes shall arise, and shall worship him, for the Lord's sake; for the Holy One of Israel is faithful, and I have chosen you.

⁵ For it is the Lord that made you; the Lord of hosts is His name; and He that delivered you, He is the God of Israel, and shall be called so by the whole earth.

⁵ Nations which know you not shall call upon you, and peoples which are not acquainted with you shall flee to you for refuge, for the sake of the Lord your God, the Holy One of Israel; for He has glorified you.

¹⁹ And I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and whatever you bind on the earth will have been bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on the earth will have been loosed in heaven."

³⁵ Heaven and earth shall pass away, but My words shall by no means pass away.

²⁴ saying, "Let us alone! What have we to do with You, Jesus of Nazareth? Did You come to destroy us? I know who You are--the Holy One of God!"

³² He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Most High; and the Lord God shall give Him the throne of His father David.

³⁴ saying, "Ah! What have we to do with You, Jesus of Nazareth? Did You come to destroy us? I know who You are--the Holy One of God!"

⁶ Jesus said to him, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.

¹⁴ But you denied the Holy and Just One, and asked for a murderer to be granted to you,

²⁰ And we know that the Son of God has come and has given us an understanding, that we may know Him that is true; and we are in Him that is true, in His Son Jesus Christ. He is the true God and eternal life.

⁵ and from Jesus Christ, the faithful witness, the firstborn from the dead, and the ruler of the kings of the earth. To Him who loves us and who washed us from our sins in His own blood,

¹⁸ I am He who lives, and became dead, and behold, I am alive forevermore. Amen. And I have the keys of Death and of Hades.

¹ "To the angel of the church of Ephesus write, 'These things says He that holds the seven stars in His right hand, who walks in the midst of the seven golden lampstands:

¹⁴ "And to the angel of the church in Laodicea write, 'These things says the Amen, the faithful and true Witness, the beginning of the creation of God:

⁸ And the four living beings, each one having six wings apiece, were full of eyes around and within. And they never rest day or night, saying, "Holy, holy, holy, Holy, holy, holy, Holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty, He who was, and who is, and who is to come!"

³ And no one in heaven above or on the earth or under the earth was able to open the scroll, nor to look at it. ⁴ And I began to weep much, because no one was found worthy to open the scroll, nor to look at it. ⁵ But one of the elders said to me, "Do not weep. Behold, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has overcome, to open the scroll and its seven seals."

⁹ And they sang a new song, saying: "You are worthy to take the scroll, and to open its seals; because You were slain, and You redeemed us to God by Your blood, out of every tribe and language and people and nation;

¹⁰ And they cried with a loud voice, saying, "How long, O Lord, holy and true, do You not judge and avenge our blood on them that dwell on the earth?"

³ And they sing the song of Moses, the servant of God, and the song of the Lamb, saying: "Great and marvelous are Your works, Lord God Almighty! Righteous and true are Your ways, O King of the nations!

⁷ And I heard the altar saying, "Yes, Lord God Almighty, true and righteous are Your judgments."

² For true and righteous are His judgments, for He has judged the great harlot who corrupted the earth with her fornication; and He has avenged the blood of His servants shed by her hand."

¹¹ And I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse. And He who sat on him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness He judges and makes war.

⁵ Then He who sat on the throne said, "Behold, I am making all things new." And He said to me, "Write, for these words are faithful and true."

⁹ lest I be filled and become false, and say, Who sees me? Or be poor and steal, and swear vainly by the name of God.

³⁴ And when they are weak they shall be helped with a little help, but many shall attach themselves to them with treachery.

⁷⁰ But he denied it before them all, saying, "I do not know what you are saying." ⁷¹ And when he had gone out to the gateway, another girl saw him and said to them there, "This man was with Jesus the Nazarene." ⁷² But again he denied with an oath, "I do not know the Man!"

⁹ But he who denies Me before men will be denied before the angels of God.

²¹ He that has My commandments and keeps them, it is he who loves Me. And he who loves Me shall be loved by My Father, and I will love him and will manifest Myself to him." ²² Judas (not Iscariot) said to Him, "Lord, and what has happened that You are about to manifest Yourself to us, and not to the world?" ²³ Jesus answered and said to him, "If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and we will make Our home with him. ²⁴ He who does not love Me does not keep My words; and the word which you hear is not Mine but the Father's who sent Me.

²⁰ Remember the word which I said to you, 'A servant is not greater than his master.' If they persecuted Me, they will also persecute you. If they kept My word, they will keep yours also.

⁶ I have manifested Your name to the men whom You have given Me out of the world. They were Yours, You have given them to Me, and they have kept Your word.

¹³ The God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, the God of our fathers, glorified His Servant Jesus, whom you indeed delivered up and denied Him in the presence of Pilate, when he had decided to release Him. ¹⁴ But you denied the Holy and Just One, and asked for a murderer to be granted to you,

²⁷ Now arriving and gathering the church together, they related all that God had done with them, and that He had opened the door of faith for the Gentiles.

⁹ For a great and effective door has been opened to me, and there are many adversaries.

¹² Now when I came to Troas for the gospel of Christ, and a door was opened to me by the Lord,

⁸ Concerning this I pleaded with the Lord three times that it might depart from me. ⁹ And He said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for My power is perfected in weakness." Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my weaknesses, in order that the power of Christ may rest upon me. ¹⁰ Therefore I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in calamities, in persecutions, in distresses, for Christ's sake. For whenever I am weak, then I am strong.

¹³ I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.

³ praying at the same time also for us, that God would open a door for the word, to speak the mystery of Christ, because of which I am also in chains,

⁸ But if anyone does not provide for his own, and especially for those of his own house, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever.

⁷ I have fought the good fight. I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.

²² Who is a liar but the one who denies that Jesus is the Christ? This is the antichrist, the one who denies the Father and the Son. ²³ Everyone who denies the Son does not have the Father either.

⁴ For certain men have crept in unawares, who long ago were marked out for this condemnation, ungodly men, changing the grace of our God into licentiousness and denying the only Master God and our Lord Jesus Christ.

² "I know your works, and your labor, and your endurance, and that you cannot bear those who are evil. And you tested those who say that they are apostles and they are not, and you found them to be liars;

¹ "And to the angel of the church in Sardis write, 'These things says He that has the seven Spirits of God and the seven stars: "I know your works, that you have a name, that you live, and you are dead.

⁷ "And to the angel of the church in Philadelphia write, 'These things says the Holy One, the True One, " He who has the key of David, He that opens and no man shuts, except He that opens, and no man shall open."

¹⁰ Because you have kept My command to persevere, I also will keep you from the hour of testing which is about to come upon the whole world, to test those that dwell upon the earth.

¹⁵ "I know your works, that you are neither cold nor hot. I wish that you were cold or hot.

⁷ Behold, I am coming swiftly! Blessed is he that keeps the words of the prophecy of this book."

⁸ And all these your servants shall come down to me, and reverence me, saying, Go forth, you and all the people over whom you presided, and afterwards I will go forth.

³⁰ And Pharaoh rose up by night, and his servants, and all the Egyptians. And there was a great cry in all the land of Egypt, for there was not a house in which there was not one dead. ³¹ And Pharaoh called Moses and Aaron by night, and said to them, Rise and depart from my people, both you and the children of Israel. Go and serve the Lord your God, even as you say. ³² And take with you your sheep, and your oxen: bless me also, I pray you.

³⁶ And it shall come to pass that he that survives in your house will come and bow down before him for a little piece of silver, saying, Put me into one of your priest's offices to eat bread.

¹⁷ in every city and province wherever the ordinance was published: wherever the proclamation took place, the Jews had joy and gladness, feasting and mirth. And many of the Gentiles were circumcised, and became Jews, for fear of the Jews.

⁸ Now then take seven bullocks, and seven rams, and go to My servant Job, and he shall offer a burnt offering for you. And My servant Job shall pray for you, for I will only accept him: for but his sake, I would have destroyed you, for you have not spoken the truth against My servant Job. ⁹ So Eliphaz the Temanite, and Bildad the Shuhite, and Zophar the Minaean, went and did as the Lord commanded them: and He pardoned their sin for the sake of Job. ¹⁰ And the Lord prospered Job. And when he prayed also for his friends, He forgave them their sin: and the Lord gave Job twice as much, even double of what he had before.

⁴ Since you became precious in My sight, you have become glorious, and I have loved you; and I will give men for you, and princes for your life.

¹⁴ Thus says the Lord of hosts, Egypt has labored for you; and the merchandise of the Ethiopians, and the Sabeans, men of stature, shall pass over to you, and shall be your servants; and they shall follow after you bound in fetters, and shall pass over to you, and shall bow down to you, and make supplication to you; because God is in you; and there is no God beside You, O Lord.

²³ And kings shall be your nursing fathers, and their princesses your nurses, they shall bow down to you on the face of the earth, and shall lick up the dust of your feet; and you shall know that I am the Lord, and they that wait on Me shall not be ashamed.

¹⁴ And the sons of them that afflicted you, and of them that provoked you, shall come to you in fear; and you shall be called Zion, the city of the Holy One of Israel.

²⁰ Thus says the Lord Almighty; Yet shall many peoples come, and the inhabitants of many cities; ²¹ and the inhabitants of five cities shall come together to one city, saying, Let us go to make supplication to the Lord, and to seek the face of the Lord Almighty; I will go also. ²² And many peoples and many nations shall come to seek earnestly the face of the Lord Almighty in Jerusalem, and to obtain the favor of the Lord. ²³ Thus says the Lord Almighty; In those days My word shall be fulfilled if ten men of all the languages of the nations should take hold — even take hold of the hem of a Jew, saying, We will go with you; for we have heard that God is with you.

³⁷ But Paul said to them, "They beat us publicly, although we were uncondemned Romans, and they cast us into prison, and now do they cast us out secretly? No indeed! Let them come themselves and lead us out." ³⁸ And the officers related to the magistrates these words, and they were afraid when they heard that they were Romans. ³⁹ And coming, the appealed to them, and bringing them out, and asked them to depart from the city.

¹⁷ Fear, and a pit, and a snare, are upon you that dwell on the earth.

¹⁰ Many must be tested, and thoroughly whitened, and tried with fire, and sanctified; but the transgressors shall transgress: and none of the transgressors shall understand, but the wise shall understand.

⁹ And I will bring the third part through the fire, and I will try them as silver is tried, and I will prove them as gold is proved: they shall call upon My name, and I will hear them, and say, This is My people: and they shall say, The Lord is my God.

¹³ And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one. For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.

¹⁴ And this good news of the kingdom will be proclaimed in all the world for a testimony to all the nations, and then the end will come.

⁴¹ Watch and pray, lest you enter into temptation. Indeed the spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak."

⁹ And assuredly I say to you, wherever this gospel is proclaimed in the whole world, what this woman did will also be spoken as a memorial of her."

¹ And it came to pass in those days that a decree went out from Caesar Augustus that a census be taken of all the empire.

⁸ First, I thank my God through Jesus Christ for you all, that your faith is spoken of throughout the whole world.

¹³ No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not permit you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation, He will also make the way out, so as for you to be able to bear it.

¹³ Because of this, take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having accomplished all things, to stand.

¹² It is not possible, my brothers, for a fig tree to make olives, or a vine to make figs, is it? Thus no spring is able to produce both salt and sweet water.

¹² Beloved, do not be surprised by the fiery trial among you, taking place to test you, as though some strange thing was happening to you;

⁹ then the Lord knows how to deliver the godly out of temptation and how to keep the unjust under punishment for the day of judgment,

⁹ I, John, your brother and partaker in the tribulation and kingdom and endurance in Christ Jesus, came to be on the island that is called Patmos on account of the word of God and for the testimony of Jesus Christ.

¹⁰ Fear none of those things which you are about to suffer. Behold indeed, the devil is about to cast some of you into prison, so that you may be tested, and you will have tribulation ten days. Be faithful until death, and I will give you the crown of life.

¹³ And I saw, and I heard an eagle flying through the midst of heaven, saying with a loud voice, "Woe, woe, woe for those who dwell on the earth, from the remaining blasts of the trumpet of the three angels who are to sound their trumpets!"

¹⁰ And those who dwell on the earth rejoice over them, and make merry, and give gifts to one another, because these two prophets tormented those who dwell on the earth.

¹⁰ If anyone has captivity, he goes away; if anyone is with the sword, he must be killed. Here is the endurance and the faith of the saints.

¹⁴ And he deceives my own people who dwell on the earth by the signs which were given to him to do before the Beast, saying to those who dwell on the earth to make an image to the beast who had the wound--and came to life! -from the sword.

¹² Here is the endurance of the saints; those who keep the commandments of God and the faith of Jesus.

¹⁴ For the great day of the Lord is near, it is near, and very speedy; the sound of the day of the Lord is made bitter and harsh.

²⁵ And everyone who competes exercises self-control in all things. Now they compete in order that they may receive a perishable crown, but we compete for an imperishable crown.

⁵ Let your gentleness be known to all men. The Lord is at hand.

⁵ And also if anyone competes in athletics, he is not crowned unless he competes according to the rules.

⁸ Finally, there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give to me on that Day, and not only to me, but also to all those who have loved His appearing.

¹² Blessed is the man who endures temptation; because when he is approved, he shall receive the crown of life which the Lord promised to those who love Him.

⁹ Do not murmur against one another, brothers, lest you be judged. Behold, the Judge stands before the doors!

³ nor as being masters over the flock under you, but rather being examples to the flock. ⁴ And when the Chief Shepherd appears, you will receive the unfading crown of glory.

³ Blessed is he who reads and those who hear the words of this prophecy, and who keep the things having been written in it; for the time is near.

³ Remember therefore how you have received and heard, and hold fast, and repent. Therefore if you will not watch, I will come upon you like a thief, and by no means shall you know what hour I will come upon you.

¹⁰ the twenty-four elders fall down before Him who sits on the throne and they worship Him that lives forever and ever, and cast their crowns before the throne, saying:

¹² "And behold, I am coming quickly, and My reward is with Me, to render to each one according to his work.

²⁰ He who testifies to these things says, "Yes, I am coming quickly." Amen. Yes, come, Lord Jesus!

²¹ And he set up the pillars of the porch of the temple; and he set up the one pillar, and called its name Jachin: and he set up the second pillar, and called its name Boaz.

⁸ As we have heard, so have we also seen, in the city of the Lord of hosts, in the city of our God; God has founded it forever. Pause.

³ Glorious things have been spoken of you, O city of God. Pause.

¹⁵ For you shall leave your name for a loathing to My chosen, and the Lord shall destroy you; but My servants shall be called by a new name,

¹⁸ Behold, I have made you this day as a strong city, and as a bronze wall, strong against all the kings of Judah and its princes, and the people of the land.

³⁵ The circumference, eighteen thousand measures. And the name of the city, from the day that it shall be finished, shall be THE LORD IS THERE.

⁹ and when James, Cephas, and John, who seemed to be pillars, perceived the grace which was given to me, they gave me and Barnabas their right hands of fellowship, that we should go to the Gentiles and they to the circumcised;

²⁶ but the Jerusalem above is free, which is the mother of us all. ²⁷ For it is written: "Rejoice, O barren, who does not give birth; break forth and shout, who does not have birth pangs; because the children of the desolate are many more than those of her who has a husband."

¹⁵ from whom every family in heaven and upon earth takes its name,

²² But you have come to Zion, to the Mountain and city of the living God, to a heavenly Jerusalem, and to myriads of angels,

¹³ I am writing to you, fathers, because you have come to know Him who is from the beginning. I am writing to you, young men, because you have overcome the evil one. I am writing to you, little children, because you have come to know the Father. ¹⁴ I wrote to you, fathers, because you have come to know Him who is from the beginning. I wrote to you, young men, because you are strong, and the word of God abides in you, and you have overcome the evil one.

⁴ You are of God, little children, and you have overcome them, because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world.

¹⁷ He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To him who overcomes I will give to him some of the hidden manna to eat. And I will give him a white stone, and on the stone a new name written which no one knows except he who receives it." '

¹ And I saw, and behold, the Lamb standing on Mount Zion, and with Him one hundred and forty-four thousand, having His name and the name of His Father having been written on their foreheads.

¹⁴ These will make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb will conquer them, for He is Lord of lords and King of kings; and those who are with Him are called, and elect, and faithful."

² Then I saw the holy city, New Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, having been prepared like a bride having been adorned for her husband.

¹⁰ And he carried me away in spirit onto a great and high mountain, and he showed to me the holy city Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, ¹¹ having the glory of God. Its radiance was like a most precious stone, like a jasper stone, clear as crystal, ¹² having a wall great and high, having twelve gates, and at the gates twelve angels, and names written on them, which are the names of the twelve tribes of the sons of Israel: ¹³ three gates on the east, three gates on the north, three gates on the south, and three gates on the west. ¹⁴ And the wall of the city had twelve foundations, and on them were the twelve names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb. ¹⁵ And he who spoke with me had a measure, a golden reed, so that he might measure the city, and its gates. ¹⁶ The city is laid out like a square; its length is as great as its breadth. And he measured the city with the reed: twelve thousand furlongs. Its length, breadth, and height are equal. ¹⁷ And its wall is one hundred and forty-four cubits, by the measure of a man, which is, of an angel. ¹⁸ And the construction of its wall was of jasper; and the city was pure gold, like transparent glass. ¹⁹ The foundations of the wall of the city were adorned with every precious stone: the first foundation was jasper, the second sapphire, the third chalcedony, the fourth emerald, ²⁰ the fifth sardonyx, the sixth carnelian, the seventh chrysolite, the eighth beryl, the ninth topaz, the tenth chrysoprase, the eleventh jacinth, and the twelfth amethyst. ²¹ The twelve gates are twelve pearls: each one of the gates was made of one pearl. And the street of the city was pure gold, like transparent glass. ²² But I saw no temple in it, for the Lord God Almighty is its temple, also the Lamb. ²³ The city had no need of the sun nor of the moon to shine, for the very glory of God illuminated it, and its lamp is the Lamb. ²⁴ And the nations shall walk in its light, and the kings of the earth shall bring to it the glory and honor of the nations into it. ²⁵ And its gates shall by no means be closed by day, for night shall not exist there. ²⁶ And they shall bring the glory and the honor of the nations into it, so that they may enter. ²⁷ But there shall by no means enter into it any common thing, and the one doing an abomination and a lie, but only those who are written in the Lamb's Book of Life.

⁴ And they shall see His face, and His name shall be on their foreheads.

²² The Lord made me the beginning of His ways for His works.

⁴ Behold I have made him a testimony among the Gentiles, a prince and commander to the Gentiles.

¹⁶ which shall be blessed on the earth; for they shall bless the true God; and they that swear upon the earth shall swear by the true God; for they shall forget the former affliction, it shall not come into their mind.

⁵ And they said to Jeremiah, Let the Lord be between us for a just and faithful witness, if we do not according to every word which the Lord shall send to us.

²⁰ For all the promises of God in Him are "Yes," and in Him "Amen," to the glory of God through us.

¹⁵ He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation,

¹⁸ And He is the head of the body, the church, who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, so that in all things He may have the preeminence,

¹ For I want you to know how great a struggle I have concerning you and those in Laodicea, and for as many as have not seen my face in the flesh,

¹⁶ And whenever this letter is read before you, see that it is also read in the church of the Laodiceans, and that you also read the one from Laodicea.

⁶ And He said to me, " I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. I will give from the spring of the water of life freely to him that is thirsty.

⁶ Then he said to me, "These words are faithful and true." And the Lord, the God of the spirits of the prophets sent His angel to show His servants the things which must happen quickly.

¹³ I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End."

²⁹ O that there were such a heart in them, that they should fear Me, and keep My commandments always, that it might be well with them, and with their sons forever!

¹⁵ But if it seem not good to you to serve the Lord, choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods of your fathers that were on the other side of the river, or the gods of the Amorites, among whom you dwell upon their land. But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord, for He is holy. ¹⁶ And the people answered and said, Far be it from us to forsake the Lord, so as to serve other gods. ¹⁷ The Lord our God, He is God; He brought up us and our fathers from Egypt, and kept us in all the way in which we walked, and among all the nations through whom we passed. ¹⁸ And the Lord cast out the Amorite, and all the nations that inhabited the land from before us: yea, we will serve the Lord, for He is our God. ¹⁹ And Joshua said to the people, Indeed you will not be able to serve the Lord, for God is holy; and He being jealous will not forgive your sins and your transgressions. ²⁰ Whenever you shall forsake the Lord and serve other gods, then He shall come upon you and afflict you, and consume you, because He has done you good. ²¹ And the people said to Joshua, No, but we will serve the Lord! ²² And Joshua said to the people, You are witnesses against yourselves, that you have chosen the Lord, to serve Him. ²³ And now take away the strange gods that are among you, and set your heart right toward the Lord God of Israel. ²⁴ And the people said to Joshua, We will serve the Lord, and we will hearken to His voice.

²¹ And Elijah drew near to them all. And Elijah said to them, How long will you halt on both feet? If the Lord is God, follow Him; but if Baal, follow him. And the people answered not a word.

¹¹ But My people hearkened not to My voice; and Israel gave no heed to Me. ¹² So I let them go after the ways of their own hearts; they will go on in their own ways. ¹³ If My people had hearkened to Me, if Israel had walked in My ways,

²⁶ My son, give me your heart, and let your eyes observe my ways.

⁸ Ephraim is mixed among his people; Ephraim became a cake not turned.

² They have divided their hearts; now shall they be utterly destroyed: he shall dig down their altars, their pillars shall mourn.

⁵ and them that worship the host of heaven upon the housetops; and them that worship and swear by the Lord, and them that swear by their king; ⁶ and them that turn aside from the Lord, and them that seek not the Lord, and them that cleave not to the Lord.

²⁴ "No one is able to serve two masters; for either he will hate the one, and he will love the other, or else he will be devoted to the one, and he will despise the other. You cannot serve God and money.

³⁷ He who loves father or mother more than Me is not worthy of Me. And he who loves son or daughter more than Me is not worthy of Me.

¹² And because lawlessness will increase, the love of many will grow cold.

²⁷ And whoever does not bear his cross and come after Me cannot be My disciple. ²⁸ For which of you, intending to build a tower, does not first sit down and count up the cost, whether he has the resources to complete it?

¹¹ not lagging in diligence, fervent in spirit, serving the Lord;

²² If anyone does not love the Lord Jesus Christ, let him be Anathema. Marana tha!

²⁰ For I am afraid, lest perhaps when I come, I will not find you as I desire, and that I will be found by you as you do not desire; lest perhaps there be contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, disputes, slanders, gossipings, pride, disorders;

⁹ And this I pray, that your love may abound yet more and more in knowledge and all perception,

³ We are obligated to give thanks to God always for you, brothers, and rightfully so, because your faith grows exceedingly, and the love of every one of you all increases towards one another,

⁸ he is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways.

²² Since you have purified your souls by obedience to the truth through the Spirit in sincere love for the brothers, love one another fervently from a pure heart,

¹⁹ Have You utterly rejected Judah? And has Your soul departed from Zion? Why have You stricken us, and there is no healing for us? We waited for peace, but there was no prosperity; for a time of healing, and behold trouble!

¹ And the Lord said to me, Though Moses and Samuel stood before My face, My soul could not be toward them: dismiss this people, and let them go forth. ² And it shall be, if they say to you, Where shall we go forth? Then you shall say to them, Thus says the Lord: As many as are for death, to death; and as many as are for famine, to famine; and as many as are for the sword, to the sword; and as many as are for captivity, to captivity. ³ And I will punish them with four kinds of death, says the Lord, the sword to slay, the dogs to tear, the wild beasts of the earth, and the birds of the sky to devour and destroy. ⁴ And I will deliver them up for distress to all the kingdoms of the earth, because of Manasseh son of Hezekiah king of Judah, for all that he did in Jerusalem.

⁸ And I will cut off three shepherds in one month, and My soul shall grieve over them, for their souls cried out against Me. ⁹ And I said, I will not tend you: that which dies, let it die; and that which falls off, let it fall off; and let the rest eat the flesh of his neighbor.

³¹ Therefore hear the word of the Lord: thus says the Lord, Have I been a wilderness or a dry land to Israel? Why have My people said, We will not be ruled over, and will not come to You anymore?

⁸ And Ephraim said, Nevertheless I am rich, I have found refreshment for myself. None of his labors shall be found available to him, by reason of the sins which he has committed.

⁵ which their possessors have slain, and have not repented: and they that sold them said, Blessed be the Lord; for we have become rich: and their shepherds have suffered no sorrow for them.

³ "Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

¹² When Jesus heard that, He said to them, "Those who are healthy have no need of a physician, but those who are ill.

⁵³ He has filled the hungry with good things, and the rich He has sent away empty.

²⁴ "But woe to you who are rich, because you have received your consolation.

¹⁷ Behold, you are called a Jew, and rest on the law, and boast in God, ¹⁸ and know His will, and approve the things that are more excellent, being instructed out of the law, ¹⁹ and are persuaded that you are a guide to the blind, a light to those in darkness, ²⁰ an instructor of the foolish, a teacher of babes, having the form of knowledge and of the truth in the law. ²¹ You, therefore, who teach another, do you not teach yourself? You who preach that a man should not steal, do you steal? ²² You who say, "Do not commit adultery," do you commit adultery? You who abhor idols, do you commit sacrilege? ²³ You who boast in the law, do you dishonor God through the transgression of the law?

²⁴ O wretched man that I am! Who shall deliver me from this body of death?

²⁰ Well said. By unbelief they were broken off, but you stand by faith. Do not be arrogant, but fear.

²⁵ For I do not desire you to be ignorant, brothers, of this mystery, lest you be wise in your own opinion, that blindness in part has happened to Israel until the fullness of the Gentiles has come in.

³ For I say, through the grace given to me, to everyone who is among you, not to think of himself too highly, beyond what you should think, but to think soberly, as God has imparted to each one a measure of faith.

⁸ You are already full! You are already rich! You have reigned as kings without us; and I wish that indeed you did reign, in order that we also might reign with you! ⁹ For I think that God has displayed us, the apostles, last, as men appointed to death; for we became a spectacle to the world, both to angels and to men. ¹⁰ We are fools for Christ's sake, but you are wise in Christ! We are weak, but you are strong! You are distinguished, but we are despised!

⁹ For he who lacks these things is blind, being shortsighted, having forgotten the cleansing of his past sins.

⁷ I will bless the Lord who has instructed me; my reins too have chastened me even till night.

⁸ I will instruct you and guide you in the way you should go; I will fix My eyes upon you.

²⁴ You have guided me by Your counsel, and You have taken me to Yourself with glory.

¹¹ because they rebelled against the words of God, and provoked the counsel of the Most High.

²⁵ but you disdained my counsels, and disregarded my reproofs;

³⁰ neither would they attend to my counsels, but derided my reproofs.

² Observe the commandment of the king, and that because of the word of the oath of God.

³ Your shame shall be uncovered, your reproaches shall be brought to light; I will exact of you due vengeance, I will no longer deliver you to men.

¹ You that thirst, go to the water, and all that have no money, go and buy; and eat and drink wine and milk without money or price.

⁴ You have a few names in Sardis who have not defiled their garments; and they will walk with Me in white, because they are worthy. ⁵ He who overcomes shall be clothed in white garments, and by no means shall I erase his name from the Book of Life; but I will confess his name before My Father and before His angels.

¹⁷ Because you say, 'I am wealthy, and have become rich, and have need of nothing'--and do not know that you are wretched, miserable, poor, blind, and naked,

¹³ Then one of the elders answered, saying to me, "Who are these arrayed in long white robes, and where did they come from?"

¹⁸ I have heard the sound of Ephraim lamenting, and saying, You have chastened me, and I was chastened; I as a calf was not willingly taught: turn me, and I shall turn; for You are the Lord my God.

³² But when we are judged, we are disciplined by the Lord, in order that we may not be condemned with the world.

⁹ as being unknown, and yet well known; as dying, and behold, we live; as being disciplined, and not being put to death;

¹¹ For behold this very thing, that you sorrowed in a godly manner, how much diligence it produced in you, even an eagerness to defend, even indignation, even fear, even longing, even zeal, even vengeance! In all things you demonstrated yourselves to be pure in this matter.
