⁵ not by works of righteousness which we did, but according to His mercy He saved us, through the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit,

²⁰ For though I should seem righteous, my mouth will be profane, and though I should seem blameless, I shall be proved perverse.

¹⁴ For who, being a mortal, is such that he shall be blameless? Or who that is born of a woman, that he should be just?

⁴ For how shall a mortal be just before the Lord? Or who that is born of a woman shall purify himself?

¹⁰ Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a steadfast spirit in my inward parts.

¹² and mercy is Yours, O Lord; for You will recompense everyone according to his works.

⁵ For You, O Lord, are kind and gentle, and plenteous in mercy to all that call upon You.

¹⁵ But You, O Lord God, are compassionate and merciful, longsuffering, and abundant in mercy and true.

⁷ Let Israel hope in the Lord: for with the Lord is mercy, and with Him is abundant redemption.

² And enter not into judgment with Your servant, for in Your sight shall no man living be justified.

¹² And I will declare your righteousness, and your sins, which shall not profit you.

¹⁸ Who is a God like You, canceling iniquities, and passing over the sins of the remnant of His inheritance? And He has not kept His anger for a testimony, for He delights in mercy.

⁵⁰ And His mercy is on those who fear Him from generation to generation.

⁵⁴ He has helped His servant Israel, in remembrance of His mercy,

⁷² to perform the mercy promised to our fathers and to remember His holy covenant,

⁷⁸ through the tender mercy of our God, with which the Dayspring from on high has visited us;

²⁷ So he answered and said, " 'You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your strength, and with all your mind,' and 'your neighbor as yourself.' " ²⁸ And He said to him, "You have answered correctly; do this and you shall live." ²⁹ But he, wanting to justify himself, said to Jesus, "And who is my neighbor?"

³ Jesus answered and said to him, "Most assuredly, I say to you, unless someone is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God." ⁴ Nicodemus said to Him, "How can a man be born, being old? Can he enter a second time into his mother's womb and be born?" ⁵ Jesus answered, "Most assuredly, I say to you, unless someone is born of water and of Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God.

²⁰ Therefore by works of the law no flesh shall be justified in His sight, for through the law comes the knowledge of sin.

²⁸ Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith apart from the works of the law.

⁵ But to him who does not work but believes on Him that justifies the ungodly, his faith is accounted for righteousness,

¹¹ for the children not yet being born, nor having done anything good or evil, that the purpose of God according to election might abide, not of works but of Him who calls,

¹⁶ So then it is not of him that wills, nor of him that runs, but of God who shows mercy.

³⁰ What shall we say then? That Gentiles, who did not pursue righteousness, have attained to righteousness, even the righteousness of faith;

⁶ And if by grace, it is no longer of works; otherwise grace is no longer grace. But if it is of works, it is no longer grace; otherwise work is no longer work.

² And do not fashion yourselves after this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and well pleasing and perfect will of God.

¹¹ And such were some of you! But you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus and by the Spirit of our God.

¹⁶ knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we believed in Christ Jesus, so that we might be justified by the faith of Christ and not by the works of the law; because no flesh shall be justified by the works of the law.

¹⁶ Now to Abraham and his Seed were the promises spoken. He does not say, "And to seeds," as of many, but as of one, "And to your Seed," who is Christ. ¹⁷ And this I say, that the law, which was four hundred and thirty years later, does not annul the covenant previously confirmed to Christ by God, so that it make the promise of no effect. ¹⁸ For if the inheritance comes by the law, it is no longer of promise; but God has given it to Abraham by promise. ¹⁹ Why then the law? It was added on account of transgressions, until the Seed should come to whom it had been promised; and it was commanded through angels by the hand of a mediator. ²⁰ Now the mediator is not for one person, but God is one. ²¹ Therefore, is the law against the promises of God? Certainly not! For if a law had been given which was able to give life, truly righteousness would have been by the law.

⁶ to the praise of the glory of His grace, by which He bestowed favor upon us in the Beloved. ⁷ In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace

⁴ But God, being rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us,

⁸ For by grace you are saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, ⁹ not of works, lest anyone should boast.

²³ and that you be renewed in the spirit of your mind,

²⁶ in order that He might sanctify her, cleansing her by the washing of water by the word,

¹⁰ and have put on the new man who is renewed in full knowledge according to the image of Him who created it,

⁹ who having saved us, and having called us with a holy calling, not according to our works, but according to His own purpose and grace which was given to us in Christ Jesus before time itself,

⁴ But when the kindness and the love of God our Savior toward man appeared,

¹⁶ Therefore let us come boldly to the throne of grace, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.

⁶ and having fallen away, to renew them again to repentance, since they crucify again for themselves the Son of God, and hold Him up to contempt.

³ Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His great mercy has begotten us again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,

¹⁰ who formerly were not a people but now are the people of God, who had not received mercy, but now have received mercy.

²¹ which as an antitype, baptism now also saves us-(not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but an appeal to God for a good conscience), through the resurrection of Jesus Christ,
